at your comments BZ.......it was only recently YOU said this...

I've just been reading one of the AIBU threads and it's so saddening how nasty people on here can be. In fact it feels a bit like lord of the flies on some threads!

i would like to advise you STRONGLY to think before you type!

Just when i'd decided to give MN another go as well!!! bollocks to this, i'm outta here, see ya

HellHathNoFury · 04/12/2007 13:18
DKMA · 04/12/2007 13:20

Better crack open another packet of wet wipes

IsawBUMPERkissingsantaclaus · 04/12/2007 13:28

Oh dear nope not fullmoon

i hate to labour the point after a moment has passed, but that's nature of these talkboards and I have to stick up for my friends and say I agree with them about BZ. I know you are having a tough time bz, but we are all friends on here, we come on to vent (NOT at each other) and to support each other. Ask us for support if you need it, but don't take it out on us.

derlor and dkma please come back. we'll all play nicely, promise

btw while we are on honesty and all that, is anyone feeling ignored? i hadn't noticed that aspect? i hope not.

please lets not let this thread disintegrate, it's my lifeline.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 04/12/2007 13:37

Afternoon everyone!

Oh dear, it's all gone tits up!

Don't go derlor !

Bumper have you had your secret santa email?

I'm feeling pretty smug. Just done a Waterstones shop, got some pressies for the dcs and got my dad's present. Also have decided what to buy for my mum, just need to buy it now! Dp's present is in the pipeline too...smug, smug, smug !

Just need to sort out my bro and sis now!

Mh, your poor dd! I remember trapping my fingers in the car boot when I was little...OUCH! I still remember the sick feeling and my fingers going black!

I also broke my finger in Amsterdam by trapping in a door, but I was, um, "not very well", so it was probably my own fault!

OP posts:
IsawBUMPERkissingsantaclaus · 04/12/2007 13:39

oh and i have a real fear of fingers being trapped in things and being broken since when i was at school & realised a friend's mum had a finger that bent the wrong way Scarred me for life!

good luck at dinner mhc, enjoy the small posh food!

IsawBUMPERkissingsantaclaus · 04/12/2007 13:41

yes holly, sorry i should've said! and i've bough my present too

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 04/12/2007 13:43

Hi Bumper, I agree it'll be a real shame if people run away and the thread breaks down. Life can be hard enough as it is without havin MN to turn to.

BZ, is today going any better for you? I hope so. I'm sorry I can only imagine how it is dealing with stroppiness etc as they get older. Catch me in a few years and see how I'm doing eh?

Now off to the HV to check weight and see what words of wisdom she has about sleeping. Feel really bad that I nicked DD's toe cutting her nails this morning and it bled. Hope I won't be too badly judged.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 04/12/2007 13:43

Oh...I haven't gone that far in my smugness bumper! You should be feeling extra smug!

OP posts:
deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 04/12/2007 13:44

Jammy, you've had your SS email haven't you?

Dp should be home in a bit, so I'll get him to do the final couple of emails then.

OP posts:
deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 04/12/2007 13:47

Jammy, I did that when dd was little. I'm sure I cut the end of her finger off! It bled loads and I completely panicked, but it healed after a few days. I'm sure hvs see it all the time, it is so easy to do.

Off to look for my SS gift now! Online obv...I'm NEVER going into town again!

justbeme · 04/12/2007 14:11

Afternoon - I cant say good can I after what kicked off on here earlier.

I have to say that i had to scroll back down to read the convos -
I agree that BZ was abit rude about Hollys DP - But maybe that was supposed to be a bit tongue in cheek after what he got up to at the weekend? The comment re Jammy - I actually think that wasnt meant to sound as it reads.......I didnt take offence to that.
I think the word "perspective" has been taken wrongly - dont forget BZ is an author, so probably uses some "Interesting" words, unlike my posts which are plain and simple.

Basically, I think we have the same problem as before with Fury and DKMA (cant really remember), that the written word can be mis understood etc etc.

Please all come back and sort it out - I too couldnt live without MN - I love catching up with you all. I think sometimes it moves so fast that peoples posts are ignored but not intentionally and half the time I cant remember who said what - so am in awe of you who do post replies to everyone!
C'mon Its nearly Xmas, and thats from ME - Mrs Bah!!!

andiemisletoe · 04/12/2007 14:13

dkma and derlor don't leave we neeed you for your wisdom and wet wipes of course

have only wrapped three pressies as a friend popped in and we have been gassing

mh hope dd finger is ok have a nice time at the restaurant

you smug lot haven't bought my secret santa yet but am trawling the threads for ideas

back to wrapping then

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 04/12/2007 14:51

Good god - I go back to work and all hell lets loose !!

Have to agree with the others.....we can all have a moan...but not at or about EACH OTHER. Surely this isn't what its all about.....not sure about the ignoring thing...I've felt it sometimes but tbh its very difficult to keep up with a busy thread and answer everyone about everything. When I've needed advice about anything important, you have all been there for me with FAB advice and help....and I honestly don't know how I wouold have managed without MN over these past 6 months and wish I'd found you all whilst I was pg. But it really isn't very nice to see such bitchy remarks about people...

Derlor / DKMA / Fury.....don't go away!

Holly sounds fine to me thanks - but can't look until I get home - NHS blocks access to FB

Taken me AGES to type this post inbetween work, so god knows who I'm gonna upset by posting this without catching up

PS Thanks for all your good wishes ladies......its been OK and nursery say K is fine

justbeme · 04/12/2007 15:13

See - I'd ignored/forgotten that you'd gone back to work Norty!! Glad its going ok -

Ive got a horrible head cold - so cant think clearly -

BTW Ive bought L that Chicco Walker for £34.99 fromr Toyrs R Us - it looks good. i dont like spending that much on toys, but reckoned that the battery operated toy bit was worth about £15, so not a bad buy ( I actually liked it in the shop Daisy, but maybe once in use I'll wish she had an abacus!)

andiemisletoe · 04/12/2007 15:14

glad its going well norty you will be pleased to see her tonight

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 04/12/2007 15:15

Norty and BZ have been FB messaged with secret santa details!

Hope that's everyone now!

OP posts:
HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 04/12/2007 15:28

Thanks Holly - had the e-mail saying you've sent me a FB message - will pick it up later .....

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 04/12/2007 15:32

No probs!

Ladies, just want to cheer you all up...was jusr browsing on 'tinterweb for SS gift and came across this again! Oh how I wish I had an expression bra! My mothering experience has been tainted for not having one...I wonder if I should buy one as my SS gift !

OP posts:
nowbringussomeJammypudding · 04/12/2007 16:33

Yes, I got my SS email, thanks Holly.

DD's weight is fine, but seems we may have been underfeeding her and she's waking so much at night through hunger. She'll be happy as she normally gets quite put out when the carrot or swede or whatever is all gone at the end of a meal.

justbeme · 04/12/2007 16:41

Whys that Jammy? How much were you giving her and how much did the HV say to give?

Sputnik · 04/12/2007 16:49

So it's second helpings for baby Jammy tonight then Hope that can make a difference for you. Perhaps I should get my arse into gear properly with the food, as we're still getting night wakings here too.

Glad things went well for you LMN, and DD too at nursery.

Right, xmas list so far:
Bumper = mooncup
Holly = expression bra
Anyone else?

She's been getting 3 meals most days (occasionally just 2) of 2 or 3 ice cubes of fruit or veg. HV said if it's just pureed veg I could almost double the amount being given
