EandH - hope you're doing ok
Lal - your friend is being horrible! Definitely ask for a refund.
UD - congrats on the house - is it a definite? When do you move?
Hope all the oven cleaning has been fun . I need to clean mine too, poo.
Lizz - ds2 does that too sometimes, really sets my teeth on edge!

Well I thought I'd got all my christmas shopping done, only to realise I hadn't got the kids anything, had forgotten about dh, had thought to myself I'd get dmiddlesis's in town then forgotten about it, and had missed my own mother off the list . What an idiot. So once again I am scrabbling around a fortnight before Christmas trying to get all my Christmas shopping.

ARSE and have just realised I need to get my work secret santa before saturday!!! bah humbug.

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 13/12/2007 07:34

Morning - I am not to bad thanks still a bit shaken and keep thinking about it, luckily there was a witness to say he walked into the road whilst I was turning and thankfully because I had to stop before I could turn I was only doing about 5mph. The guy got up and walked and another person got him to sit down, he got his mobile out and phoned his wife. The ambulance people said he was okay but they were taking him to hospital just to be checked over. Police said they arent taking it any further as it was just an accident and obviously I wasnt speeding or drinking (in fact they had dealt with everything within 15minutes then I had to wait half an hour for another police car to turn up that had the breathiliser kit in it as apparently they dont all carry one ) considering I never ever drink that was the one part that was ok. The other thing is that it made me realise how vulnerable you are walking at night as the guy was dressed head to toe in black (black jacker, shirt and trousers) therefore as it was so dark it was impossible to see him, from now on I am taking a torch out or wearing a coat that you can see me in. Also no damage to the car so dont need to worry about that just need to call insurance and report the accident. The police gave me this mans address and am assuming they'll give him my details so am hoping I dont get any knocks on the door from his family.

2happy has the buggy board arrived as I sent 4 parcels recorded delivery that day and 2 have been received and 2 havent (the otehr 3 were work related cheques for customers) have checked on the tracking system and it doesnt say signed for and phoned Royal Mail but they couldnt tell me alot?

Lizzzombie · 13/12/2007 08:38

omg, EAH you poor thing. Thank goodness the man was ok. Its such a shock when things like this happen.
Hope you are ok too - lots of hugs x

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 13/12/2007 18:49

YoooHoooo I'm back.

TT were FABBO amazing brilliant ace.

EAH - will ring tomorrow night if that's OK. I am pooped tonight. Big hugs xx

Jodie - glad you are all healthy. I use Mr Muscle to clean my oven.....OK, OK who am I kidding? The last time my oven was cleaned was by my mum when J was two weeks old but she did use Mr Muscle

Had our work christmas party last night which was great until someone decided to tell me that I had a reputation for being a bitch and that she didn't like me when I returned from maternity leave becuase of what these three middle aged bitches had been saying about me and my BF (who was also off on maternity leave at the same time) whilst I'd been off but now she knows me she thinks I am lovely. She reckons people feel threatened by me cos I am good at my job. WTF???? I ended up in tears and went home early Felt really shite all day.

Where is MrsC? She has disappeared.

Lizzzombie · 13/12/2007 19:05

WILLLLLKKKKKKKKKKIIIIIIIvaginaAAAAAAland or whatever your name is now!

Welcome back!

Sorry to hear xmas party woman made you cry.
Personally, I love it when someone says I am a bitch. It means they know where they stand with relation to me and how I intend to treat them. mwoah mwoah mwoah - evil laugh....I am evil he he he!

Its just their own inferiority complexes coming through. try to see it that way. xxx

OP posts:
bunnyhunny · 13/12/2007 19:23

hi everyone

wilkie - sorry to hear about the woman at your works do. I don't go to mine anymore, as it always ends up bitchy, and you have to work with them afterwards. btw I read it as walkvaginawilkiewonderland

urban - I will come up and visit. It's kind of hard to fit things in at the mo...

and as for cleaning the oven?! what with that and cleaning the kitchen floor (Lizz?) you are all much too clean for my liking

not much to report really. s has been whingy all day - teeth? separation anxiety? illness? god, who bloody knows. I have given up trying to work out the problem now!

Just want you opinions about this woman who comes to our toddler group. She is a churchy lady, and kind of comes along and chats to the mums - she doesnt have a toddler herself. Today was giving out leaflets about her church christmas do. I asked her not to, as I thought she was a bit pushy and I thought it might put off some mums who come if she keeps approaching people and trying to recruit them. This week she actually helped put stuff away, though she hasn;t done anything helpful before. I find her a bit weird tbh. We were thinking of saying she is setting a precedent for people coming along without children, but not sure how to approach it. What do you think - should we try to get rid of her, or let her come along and help?

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 13/12/2007 19:27

Hmmm - personally wouldn't like someone coming along without children but that's just me

bunnyhunny · 13/12/2007 19:31

yes, thats what I was thinking

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 13/12/2007 19:46

Evening -

Wilkie we'll def catch up tomorrow/over the weekend ad ignore silly old bints they are obviously jealous of you

Bunny - not sure I'd feel comfortable for the reasons why a child free person would want to come to toddler group

Lizz- you are truly evil

Had a busy day phoned insurance company about accident and they said the didnt need to know as no damage to my car or anothe rcar. I was a bit so asked them to log the incident in case of any future contact etc. Police havent been in touch so assuming all is ok.

Took ellie to school then hattie to doctors as she is very chesty and got gunky ears (just a cold etc) then picked ellie up, picked my dad up from hospital (he had is cornea transplant and it all went very well and e is excited as he can see properly in that eye again)

Brothers gf and nephew came round with lots of treats for me (mainly involving chocolate!) nephew stayed for dinner and bath and then left at 6pm. Both girls in bed by 6.30 done the ironing and dinner is cooking (chicken fillets, chip and beans ) and then bath and bed for me

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 13/12/2007 19:47

and comletley forgot with everything else that went on that Ellies nativity was fab, she had a wobble when she couldnt see me in the church but did her part (although was also picking her nose so that'll look good in the photos) and we raised £467.10 at the bazaar plus £250 donated from my work so that was great!!

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 13/12/2007 19:55

UD - PMSL at your voicemail message - does having your hair-cut make you mad then????? Sorry - was in the bath. Am off to bed in a bit.

Night y'all.

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 13/12/2007 20:24

EandH - no, nothing yet . Glad your Dad's op went ok, and the nativity (nosepicking aside, lol!)
bunnyhunny - sounds a bit odd to me
Wilkie - was the woman who came up to you either totally p*ssed or totally tactless?? Nasty all round

Well I managed to pay someone to scare my son sh!tless today . We went to the local farm trail place, and they had a Father Christmas (ooh you can see it coming can't you?!). At first he said he didn't want to go, but when he heard he could have a present (for a mere £4!!) he decided to try. Well, of course, he took one look at the huge red guy with enormous beard and screamed the place down and wouldn't stop until we ran away. All through supper all he was saying was "We won't be seeing Father Christmas again will we? He won't be coming to our house?". Just as well I'd decided he was too young for a stocking - try explaining that one to him! What a horrid mother

adventuregirl · 13/12/2007 21:29

xmastime - your poor ds. we have father christmas coming to the toddler group next week, so hopefully he wont scare them all!

adventuregirl · 13/12/2007 21:30

oops, forgot to namechange back. It;s bunny in disguise.
I'm like the odd lurking woman at my toddler group now!

vinorouge · 14/12/2007 08:08

I wrote a long message last night then lost it all. Stupid computers.

Ellen at nursery today, new job was meant to have started this week but doesn;t start til 2 Jan. seeing as I have paid for nursery thought she might as well go and I could have a child free day this and next fri. Off for my haircutting and then gonna do a bit of cleaning but make sure I RELAX this afternoon! Meeting some friends from work for a carvery at tea time. Weekend will be xmas shopping with DH tomorrow, xmas get together with friends tomorrow night, sunday ellen has got a birthday party to go to.

E&H - glad you are ok
2happy - at least you shouldn't have any tears when ds finds out santa doesn't exist!
Wilkie - amazing what people decide to tell you at xmas dos isn't it. Just think, when dh gets another job you will be leaving and then they'll have to manage without you

theUrbanDryAdventCalendar · 14/12/2007 10:33

2Happy - when i was a kid i used to put my stocking in my big brother's room because i didn't want that dirty old man in my bedroom!!

MIL is doing a 2nd Xmas dinner for us on the weekend after Xmas dinner and is insisting on doing a stocking for Z. i'm a bit cause it's not like he's going to inderstand or care!!

I'm just listening to Woman's Hour about women at Christmas, tis very funny!!

Shimmer · 14/12/2007 14:52

Hi all. LOL at E picking her nose in the nativity Eah!

I wouldn't worry about someone saying you have a reputation for being a bitch Wilkie. I actively encourage this reputation for myself at work!! I find it works well for me cos people don't bother me with pointless questions etc. I just have a few friends at work who know me well and i socialise with, and they know i'm not that bad... so i'm happy for the rest to steer clear of me! How anti-social does that sound!?!? hehe

DP and I went to see a nursery for F this morning. It was our first visit/meeting with any sort of childcare and went well i think, though was a bit nerve wracking as well. He semed to really enjoy it there, was smiling at everyone as usual and loved playng with all the new toys. But there's a big difference btween us hanging round and playing for a while and leaving him there for a whole day. I know so mnay people that use nurseries and i don't doubt that the children and safe and looked after... but it doesn't stop me from feeling worried about it. What if he gets upset about something or hurts himself and i'm not there to give him a cuddle?

Lizzzombie · 14/12/2007 18:30

Hi Shimmer - Glad you are a bitch too - its the best way to be! Am sure F will love nursery and I hope he settles in fast. Dj is ok there now, apart from he is mega clingy in other social situations now, I think he keeps expecting me to leave him.

DJ has conjunctivitus (sp) has anyone else's LO had this? How on earth do you get eye drops into a babies eyes? He is going to kick off big time!

Have you moved house???

OP posts:
walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 14/12/2007 20:20

Shimmer/Lizz - PMSl - maybe I should revel in being a bitch? I care too much what people think of me. I suppose I should think the more they hate me, obv the better I am at my job

Someone was asking about what to buy for childminder. I have bought mine a little square glass vase filled with pebbles and crocus bulbs (sounds gross but looks lovely) from M&S. Was only £3.99

I am getting SOOOOOOOO excited about crimbo. Have 'trimmed up' tonight and the house looks pretty. All the pressies are wrapped and we are ready to go. Three days to do at work and then am sorted!

UD - miserable trout, let MIL do a stocking - my mother has done one for J as have we How are you getting on with her nowadays??

Has everyone got their SS gifts now? When are we having the grand opening on MSN or are we not bothering? Are we gonna 'fess up too?

MIA: Canmummy and MrsC. Where have you gone??

LadyTophamHatt · 14/12/2007 20:25

not recieved or sent mine yet. will be in the post tomorrow though...

Lizzzombie · 14/12/2007 20:26

Wilks - MrsC is around, saw her earlier today on here.

Yes, definately recommend giving in to your inner bitch! Its fun.

btw - when you say "trimmed up" are you meaning the tree? Its hard to know with your posts sometimes!

My msn is dead again. Very annoying.
Am in all evening, on my own if anyone fancies scrabble.....trundle....trundle...

(am making xmas stockings at the moment!)

OP posts:
walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 14/12/2007 20:31

PMSL - 'trimmed up' as in tree although I have done my bush too. In desperate need of some love action - it must have been 6 weeks at least since the last time

I will accept your scrabble challenge but only if you promise not to bugger off!

bunnyhunny · 14/12/2007 20:39

wlecome back lth - where have you been?

Shimmer - I'm sure he will be fine at nursery! I know what you are saying though. I think like that about leaving him in creche at the gym (which I havent done yet, lazy cow that I am)

got nothing to report, except s ran off, saying 'no' when I asked him to come over so I could change his nappy. an insight into the future i think.
