EandH - I would be annoyed too about them not coming because of E's chicken pox. Max caught them at 4 weeks from Alex and it wasn't ideal but not bad at all, especially as babies are meant to have immunity still passed from the mother for a while after they are born! Very very unlikely he would get it when not even in direct contact- which you of course know lol ignore my ramblings but I understand why you would be annoyed!

Susie - hello! I don't post too often but then I don't normally have anything interesting to say! I'm sure you will fit in just fine, everyone is very friendly!

I am HATING this weekend. Dp working 3-10 today, 10-6 tomorrow and 2-10 on xmas eve. Got a friend over tonight though which will be nice but am dreading tomorrow on my own (even though I have been hinting to parents they want to have a day alone - nice!). Dp normally has a Sunday off but still has to work his 39hrs this week even though the shop is shut on xmas day.

Watching Polar Express for about the 15th time this week. Counting down the minutes til bedtime...

Hi again. Another flying visit I am afraid. Hope you all had fun opening the presents. Sorry yours wasnt there in time to open with everyone Rgee, but I spoke to the nice post lady and she said it would definately be there on monday in time for Christmas. I had already bought you a little extra to say sorry for it being late so you just get a little chocolatey bonus

Dad had a hospital appt on Thu and all went really well. So glad the worst is over as I realise now that I have been really dreading it. I was so worried they would do the op and find it was worse than they thought. But he went to my nan's on thu night and seemed really well. Amazing really.

Hope everyone is well, Wilkie told me your news Vino so congratulations. A small age gap is great and now Luke and Ruth are playing together, it is so cute. Hope you are feeling ok xxx

Have a great Christmas everyone. Will catch up properly afterwards and do a mamoth post.

Thanks again for texting WIlkie.x

susie - I felt very like that when I joined (a few months ago? feels like I've known you lot for ages!!). They are lovely and welcoming, so don't worry!

shimmer - thanks for the book! It's really good - I have already read 2 (the shortest 2!) stories, and they were really absorbing. I have a long bubble bath calling I think (my place I can read and not be disturbed)!

dh - glad it went ok!

pcf - hope the weekend goes ok. I hate being on my own for too long. Does your dh have time off between christmas and new years?

lizz - sorry your birthday was a bit rubbish
like the sound of your bike tho!

absolutely no news to report. had mil over today and it was actually really nice (seeing as we were going to forget she was even family cos she was such a crap mum / nan). erm, and that;s it!

better go, laptop battery is running out...

rudolph DH was due home friday night. he was called out at 2:3 in the afternoon, as he was on his way to us, down the M6. He had to go to Derby today and may not be resolved until monday now

He has a room he lodges in in Birmingham so its only 1 hr from Derby should he get called there tonight or tomorrow. He's going back tomorrow to try to sort it again, but the new part they need for the pumps ( fuel for trains ) cannot be fitted until monday. He's mended the one in there currently so figers crosses it works, then he can just come home tomorrow. otherwise, it;ll be christmas eve.

We had SO much to do before then though. we were supposed to be visiting a friend today who was going ot find a home for some furnitre we have no room for here, to make room for a day bed/spare bed in DD's room. It being deliverd tomorrow by IKEA. so now, we are choc full with furinture we dont need and have no room for. Really frustrating.

anyway, all really boring for anyone else. Plus, we were gong to finish off shopping, food and pressie shopping today and tomorrow, and get a tree. Looks like it'll be on hold now until he gets here. If he gets here in time for that kind of shopping.

DD has not slept through the night since she was born, waking 2-3 times and more some nights. She now has her own room and so far, she's gone all night 4 out of 6 nights, and only woken once per night hte other nights! unless i just havent heard her

Just catching some time on my own wit her in bed now. really want to talk to him before bedtime, so hope we manage that at the least

I'll cheer up once he's home, i'm not normally likethis at all. I promise! thanks for all being SO welcoming.

Hi everyone,

I'm on the last big tidy up before christmas (which is actually impossible as the faster I'm tidying the quicker the older 2 are making more mess )

Dh has been tidying upstairs and all I can hear is some random toy playing "if you're happy and you know it". I'm sure he's put it at the bottom of some pile because I can't work out where it's coming from and it's driving me mad!!

Dh is at work now and isn't off until boxing day . He doesn't have to go until 1.30 on christmas day though so at least he gets to see the kids unwrap their presents. And I'm not lumbered with dinner because I'm taking the kids and my parents down to mil's! Although don't know how I'll bear all afternoon down there without him.

Lo's stirring so need to go. Am trying to cut down breastfeeds and get her drinking the hypoallergenic formula instead which is really hard as it smells foul.

Btw I was shimmer's ss!

Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa la la la la la la la laaaaaaaaaa

Tis the season to be getting slightly sick of traipsing around other people's houses, making polite but dull conversation with people you don't know, trying to look after the kids and stop them getting totally high on inappropriate foods, getting sick of dh's drunken snoring, and getting sick of dh actually having a week off work but not getting any time to ourselves....fa la la la humbug!

(Can you tell ds2 is going through another shite sleeping spell?!)

Thanks for the SS gifts Can... x

Had a fab day today and really looking forward to tomorrow, though feeling a bit at the moment as DP and I just got F's main pressie from us - a wooden activity cube thingy - out to set it up for him for the morning and just noticed it has quite a huge crack down one side! So it's had to go back in the box to be sent back. Oh well, at least he won't know, and he does have 1 or 2 (or 50 ) other little things to have tomorrow.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Z refused to go to sleep till half 12 last night, i think it was the collective unconscious of all the excited children in the world keeping him up! well, and he has a poorly tummy. he has really bad nappy rash at the moment poor little dude.

anyway we got a lie in till half 8, so not too bad, but i've just eaten half a packet of biscuits so i feel a bit sick now.

still, tis the season to overeat!!

happy christmas!

I found it quite emotional to think back to last christmas and see how far we have come! but it was quite short-lived when i noticed how many new plastic noisy toys (and associated packaging) we now have cluttering up our front room!

So he got a garage, a sandpit (I played with that one for ages!!) etc etc etc. and he played with?.... my mobile phone.

he was poorly today, so we were meant to visit friends, but cancelled - thought it would be unfair to traipse him out when he just wants his own turf

we gave him some cuddly night garden toys, and it turns out he is an iggle-piggle guy. he giggled madly when he saw him

anyway, hope you all had a fab 1st christmas with your little jan 07 babes! x

And Ellies godparents (who have a 3yr old dd!!) have bought her a barbie electric guitar plus microphane and stand that is extremely loud and to accompany her they got Hattie a full musical instrument set (I am still trying to work out what I have done to them for them to buy these presents )

Ellie is currently prancing about in her cinderella dress (she wore it all day yesterday) they loved the dolls house and they have got about 12 selection boxes for me them to eat in time.

Hattie is wearing her lovely new to that LAL sent her (and E's puzzle was done yesterday) thankyou

Right am off to look at storage boxes on argos website

Have a great boxing day

Hope you all had a lovely Xmas, we're currently packing up our house whilst looking after a poorly baby had to take him to the out of hours doctor at the hospital this morning after he had a temp of 38 - 39 all night. he seems ok now but his temp keeps spiking. tis a nightmare time for him to get ill. i've just packed up all his toys except his big music station that looks like a spaceship and his trolley walker thing. he looks a bit folorn! he's been walking a lot with his trolley though, and with his big cloth nappy bum he looks like Macca Pacca!

my brother bought him the dancing blanket Iggle Piggle which has kept him fascinated for ...oooh at least a few minutes!!

Oh UD I hope he feels better soon and you manage t get some rest (and packing done )

Have got 2 huge plastic storage boxes and managed to fit most of hatties stuff in there but god knows what happens after her bday??? (have asked most people for vouchers or money for her savings ir if they would like to buy a present maybe books or smaller items!) Been through Ellies stuff and rearranged some bits so its not looking to bad, think I'll just need to get used to seeing more toys than normal.

Been to PIL's today, they did weird lunch thing of new potatos, seafood and salad, so e and h didnt like most of it they ended up with potatoes and cucumber, got to 5pm and they were yelling as hungry so had to rustle up beans on toast for them, wished MIL had mentioned what she was doing as I would have at least taken something for Hattie. I didnt really fancy any of the lunch so am cooking myself chips They got Hattie an activity table (that fold down thankfully) and ellie a golden coin maker, but sil got ellie a cast kit to make a cast of her hand and ellie a teletubbie mobile phone, I bought neice and nephew £15 woolies voucher each

Hello all....well, not that there are many around!

We had a good Christmas, ds1 seemed to like the presents we got (assorted farm machinery, surprise surprise), and was in a mental fab mood all day, especially with his cousin, hilarious the pair of them. But dsis came round today, and you could tell both ds1 and dniece were lacking sleep as they were bickering like an old married couple lol!

ds2 still not sleeping well, bum. He goes to sleep like a dream, and went off to sleep wherever we were the last few days, he just wakes up at obnoxious o'clock and doesn't go back over.

dh went off to do some shopping at about 11.30. It's half 2 and there's no sign... I think maybe 5 days of domestic bliss are as much as he can cope with Anyway, he's had to go to get some veg as tonight we are having for supper...

... roast turkey!!!! He got a phone call on Monday from work saying "your turkey's ready to pick up". What turkey?! Apparently, every year the vets get a turkey. As dh only started there in feb he didn't know that, so now, despite having had turkey like it's going out of fashion, we have an enormous bird in the fridge! Turkey curry anyone??

Oh and really sorry I think I forgot to say happy birthday kw3's ds. Hope you had a lovely day. I know it's been said before, but where did the time go?!! (Even though we've still got over a month until ds2's birthday...ah yes, I remember all those loooong, dragging days between you lot popping and ds2's eventual arrival . bet January goes quicker for me this year than it did last year!!)

Hope you've all had good Christmases

Happy Xmas all . Sounds like you all had a good one. Pip was a bit below par so very clingy, but we've been to so many different houses / seen lots of people, I'm not surprised.

Eah how have the kids been with chickenpox? Sounds like it's been ok??
UD is Z better?

2H I love turkey but rarely have it as DH is not that keen.

Pip went to nursery today, so I went sales shopping (yup, Next was first on my list too, and I got loads of great bargains - only spent £22 there but have got tons. Got Pip some crayons for her birthday (this coming Monday!!!!) Plus bought loads from Debenhams online - sale price plus 20% offplus free delivery).
Meanwhile DH sat at home and played on his friggin XBOx or whatever. CAme home, sorted Pip#s clothes, cleaned, put more washing in, then shouted at him and burst in to tears. Still feeling a bit but once I did that he put some veggies in the steamer (the SECOND time in 6 months he's actually cooked something for DD - he claims not to know what to do ), then put the stairgates on the kitchen and bottom of stairs (have been nagging for ages). He's now gone to pick up DD and taken a list to pick up some grub from M&S.

Does anyone else honestly think they are on the verge of a breakdown or is it just me? I'm not sure I can cope anymore and something has to give. I just need someone to help do the 'thinking'. You know the stuff, what are we all having for tea tonight; what do we need to pack to take away for a three night stay etc etc. Phew, that's off my chest I feel better.

RGee you sound just like me - I do everything for all of us, all the planning, housework, shopping etc plus working and school runs etc. The only thing I have found is over time it gets easier especially when you can cook anything for them and can fob them off with a snack till you can cook tea, and noe Ellie doesnt seem to 'demand' my attention quite as much and can occupy herself for an hour or two. Online shopping is a saviour though!!

Ellie chicken pox all dried up so should be spot free soon, no signs of Hattie getting it ..... yet but incubation period is 10-21 days so we'll see

2happy - I love turkey but not sure about 2 in one week. DS1 and DN sound very similar to Ellie and Eddas dd1 they can bicker and moan at each other like old women.

Rgee in case I miss you before you go away again, I hope Pippa has a fab 1st birthday and you can actually celebrate New Years Eve this year (still remember your post describing her birth and about 10 little toes dangling down!!)
