Alreet all.

Have been away for a few days to mum and dads. I agree with BH that this thread is getting bare Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Well done BH on your quick reactions. Scary eh?

EAH - glad you have decided to sell some of the prams!!

We have decided to sell our bloody expensive high chair. We bought one from mothercare for £80 but although it is comfortable, the detachable tray is too high when it is on and J can't sit up to it properly so we have bought a £12.99 seat that straps to our dining chair with a little tray on it. We are gonna try and flog it on eBay!!

WalkinginaWILKIEwonderland - what is it? Do people think it says wanking or willie??

Gonna be in Manc for a couple of days from tomorrow night, back weds later in the day then out on my work do. I feel like a terrible mother cos I won't spend another full day with J until Friday

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 09/12/2007 21:07

Ellie loved her booster seat thing that attached to the chair, infact she still uses the booster part as makes her eating at the tabel much easier, am using highchair at th emo but will be gone by easter and I'll get another booster seat (need to keep highchair till easter then my cousin can have it (shes being induced tomorrow)

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 09/12/2007 21:13

This is what I got here

vinorouge · 09/12/2007 22:29

Wilkie I keep reading your name as vagina for some reason !!!!

Feeling better....Rgee sorry I missed you on Fri. I spent most of the day snoozing on the sofa while E clambered over me and entertained herself. Got in a strop with dh for coming home from work later than expected cos I did go a friend from works in the evening. i thought it was a girls only pre xmas gathering with few nibbles. Turned out to be a 4 course sit down meal! I got home at 1am so was v tired.

Went to London for the day yesterday to meet a friend fo rlunch cos had managed to book £10 single tickets both ways. So good to catch up - she had a lo in May - but we left babes at home. Sadly she and her dp are splitting up but she is moving back to leeds so will be good to have her around.

Today been xmas shopping and had a good day actually. Leeds wasn't too busy and E was good in her buggy. MAde use of Debenhams 10% off for quite a lot of presents!

Started packing tonight. No date for moiving yet but decided if we don;t start it will be a rush to do it all at once.

My tree arrives this week, just having a fake one this year and ordered one from m&s along with more xmas shopping as they had free delivery.

Took back a dress for e that my brother had boyught for her (not my taste) and instead got a gorgeous one from monsoon for same price. Lizz it was a burgundy velvet one with gold sequins if you're wondering which one!

Drove E over ot my mums tonight and was so tired could feel my eyes drooping on the motorway. Best get myself off to bed.

DH has his exam on weds so is off mon and tues to revise. His 'full day of revision' would be half a day in my world but hey am trying not to nag!!

Sorry for no personals. I agree this thread is quite bare and am guilty of not posting as often as I used to but just don;t seem to have enough time for anything.

vinorouge · 09/12/2007 22:30

btw lizz i described the dress i took back cos that was from mothercare. I re-read my post and realised it didn;t make sense.

SproutsRGrEEat · 10/12/2007 07:45

Hi all

Busy weekend with loads of rellies around.
Bit concerned about my dad. My dstepsis told me on the side that dad had had some cancerous growths removed very recently , but he hasn't told either of us himself so doesn't know we know iyswim. Feel I can't say anything until he does.
I cooked a lovely Delia recipe of slow cooked beef and roasted veg for us all. Nom nom.

Lo ill AGAIN. Bad cough is back meaning I am awake half the night. Poor thing. At least so far she is still chirpy with it.

Have the morning off to take her for her year-old check up (OMG - she's 1 in three weeks!). She's still sleeping...bless.

Hi to all! Vino, glad you're feeling much better, and good luck to DH with his exams.
EAH thanks for the water filter link. I've ordered mine.

Can't come on here as much, as spending so long logged in with work, and DH is always making comments. I'm hoping to get a laptop early in the New Year so I can at least MN in the same room as him, whilst he plays on the XBOX/Wii/Playstation/any other games console you care to insert.

Was writing Xmas cards last night and there were so many of you I wanted to write cards for but don't have your addresses (you're all my fwends ). So HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL AND ALL THE BEST FOR 2008

Lizzzombie · 10/12/2007 12:41

Thats the booster seat we use, but ours is yellow and blue and red. Its fab, apart from manky bits of food get stuck down the sides and I find it impossible to get it apart to get them out so have to constantly nag DP to do it. We got rid of the high chair ages ago as it was too big for our little house.

I am soooo knackered. Even though LO slept right through last night (1st time in months and months and months!) I was awake from 1.30 - 3.30am I guess waiting for him to wake up. Not fair though!

He is still coughing away really badly, I have a nasty feeling its croup as his voice sounds quite hoarse and sometimes the coughing turns to retching. Not sure though. Generally he is ok, but the teething and the cough and cold are definately putting him off his food.

Vino - I am not sure which dress you mean, but there are some lovely little girls outfits in at the moment.
I got a bargain outfit of jeans, brown v-neck tank top and cream long sleeve t-shirt for £8 in the sale at mothercare, PLUS, with my 20% discount it was even cheaper!

We had a santa xmas photo shoot last night. Will upload photo to profile. I truly am evil to my son!

Hope you are all well xxx

Evening

Well iv had a busy old day today I decided to take Lauren to playgroup it made a change and little Lauren enjoyed it so im happy. Had a hectic weekend we went to stop at my mum and dads which we enjoy but Lauren has to sleep in the travelcot in our room and at 1oclock sun morning she was bouncing around screaming da da da much to my dh delight. The saga with my bestfriend is that she has my kids when im at work well she decided to ask text me the other day and ask for more than double the money to have the kids I was fuming not because of the money but the fact that she text me and couldnt ask me face to face. We have been having problems though lately as she always seems to come up with a excuse not to have them the day before she should be looking after them therfore leaving me in the lurch 24hrs before im due in at work again. We paid her money on the 20th nov as we pay her up front and as off yet she hasnt looked after the kids so im not a happy bunny. I think we have solved the problem though im going to change my wend to a saturday which im not to pleased about but it means wayne can have the kids and my mil as offered to have them on a thursday so up yours so called bf !!!!!!!!!

Hope you are all ok christmas is getting so close now, are we revelling our secret santas after crimbo ?

bunnyhunny · 10/12/2007 20:33

hello!
Lal - your bf is being v unreasonable! She should talk to you at least. And as for cancelling with 24h notice - seems very odd to me... I would be . you don't need that kind of stress before you go to work.

Jodie - glad to hear you are all healthy!!

Lizz / Wilkie - we have that seat too. We use it for when we go out, cos he sure as hell wont stay in his buggy or on your lap anymore! I agree it's a bit of a pita to take apart to clean (which is why I have a dog )

RGEE - can't believe your lo is 1 in 3 week! It's really creeping up on us isn't it./ Do you have anything planned for the big day?

Vino - we are starting the process of (possibly) moving too. We have all the viewings to do - I HATE having to keep the house clean. But I looooovve packing!

I nearly cried watching In the Night Garden with S today. When the music came on, it's so sombre, and I thought - I will look back on this time and remember us sitting watching this together with him curled up next to me sucking his thumb, and I'll miss it Tears welling just thinking about it. what's happened to me, I used to be hard!

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 11/12/2007 08:16

morning

Lal I would ask for your money abck this month as you have aid her in advance and she hasnt had a or l once since you aid her, she sounds as if it all got to much but she should have spoken to you not text and make excuses.

well it looks like my brother and gf will be moving on Friday 21st december, except that is the busiest time of year for my brother at work (retail) so he cant have the day off and gf doesnt drive and they havent got removal people think gf friends are going to help I am at work so cant help but thought I'd offer to have nephew for saturday morning so they can get some unpacking done.

My dad is going into hospital (morefields in london) tomorrow to have a new cornea fitted in his eye (he had an accident at work years ago and finally they are sorting it) will be great for him if it works as he has very limited vision in that eye.

I have so much baking to do as its preschool xmas fete tomorrow I currently have 40 sausage rolls in te oven plus another 40 to cook and need to make cakes later. Hattie going to go to my friends tomorrow morning as she'll be bored at the church and fete and my mum/mil and dh nan (the 94 year old) are coming along, Ellie very excited about being an angel

theUrbanDryAdventCalendar · 11/12/2007 10:48

morning everyone

sorry i've not been on for ages, we've been so busy! we found a house in Chesham, it's a bit more expensvie than the ones we looked at before but it's got 2 proper bedrooms and a big (for N.London) garden, so I'm quite happy. the kitchen isn't nearly as nice as the other one though

Z has learned how to do kisses, woke up to hom slobbering all over my head and kissing my face. bless He's also learned how to open the stairgate, so i keep finding him up the stairs!!

My ss arrived today - need to post mine still! Sorry ss!! I got my new specs yesterday - pics on profile (they're soooo sexy)

Ratbunny - S sits still and In The Night Garden? Z tries to climb into the telly!! when are you coming to visit me eh?

laughalotsofpresents · 11/12/2007 13:04

Hey urban the new specs are cool. That is my next job.

Thankyou thankyou secret santa my pressie arrived this morning very glad its not a breast pump !!!!! I was shocked that you wrote on the paper lift here to have a peek, you shouldnt say things like that to the worlds worst person for undoing presents early however so far iv resisted and put it well away from my sight.

Eah have you got your pinny on doing all that baking ?

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 11/12/2007 13:26

Baking finished and just got icing to do, but will do that when Ellie in bed tonight (little helping hands and all that) I do have a apron thing when I do mass cooking but mainly because Ellie wipes her messy hands on me plus I always end up with cake mixture on me. Its a very nice aqua green and white gingham apron my auntie made me and she has made Ellie a pink and white gingham one with her name embroidered on it for xmas (and my nan had bought a huge childrens baking set which she'll love)

Got my new pink mclaren today and going to test it in a mo as we need to deliver xmas cards on our estate !

Lizzzombie · 11/12/2007 14:43

Hi everyone!
Eah - you've been very busy, I hope yuo havd had time to sit down abd test one of your own cakes!
UD - cool specs indeed. Just off to google Chesham.
Lal - hope you childcare situation sorts itself out soon, sounds difficult for you.
Rgee - when do you find out about your dad?

Hope everyone is well and healthy still.
I just worked my first shift at work whilst DJ was at nuresry! kept expecting them to call me to collect him, but all was good. Apart from he didnt eat his lunch. But never mind.

Have done practically all my chores for the week so when he is at nursery tomorrow I can be creative. I am so excited! I am going to make xmas stockings for each of us, and plan some creative xmas presents too! (may even hae a mince pie to inspire me!)

x

Ok, Chesham has the tube! Fab, there will be no stopping you now!
I can get the train to Victoria pretty easily from Eastie and then get the district line to Ealing B'way which is about half way between you and Victoria...if you ever fancy it! (there is a bravissimo in Ealing Broadway actually)

I am a bit over Eastbourne at the moment, and looking forward to going mad in the sales somewhere with slightly more interesting shops!

asecretsanta · 11/12/2007 20:12

laughalot - the peeking flap is for on christmas day! No peeking before

vinorouge · 11/12/2007 20:55

EAH you sound very busy baking - am sure it will all be enjoyed.

UD - congrats on finding the new house. When will you be moving?

Made apple crumble tonight which I soooo enjoyed. Realised I badly need to clean my oven though cos the burnt on food smoked out the kitchen. Oops (EAH you would be ashamed of me!). That can be a job for me on Friday when I am child free - yippee.

JodieG1 · 12/12/2007 13:08

I need to clean my oven too, what's the best thing to use?

Love2dance · 12/12/2007 13:27

Hello Ladies,

Been running around at work & stuff so I can see I've mised loads. Been feeling a bit blue/panicky about being at work FT (tho' childminder is lovely) and wishing I was with ds a bit more but cheered up when catching up on this thread so thanks all. I've been over-compensating massively by making Xmas pud (but like a fool I forgot to put mixed spicse in ).

We are crap at Christmas but this year will make some efforts at deco.

Are the coldy lo's better? Lizzombie our is on yet another cold after 2 lots of ab's for chest infection. You are not alone in the middle of the night!

DH and I off out on Sat...to a club!!! I wanted to see Jill Scott but missed her. We've had to book Monday off work as will neeed time to recover.

Is anyone using a childminder? What are you getting her for a pressie? Also, for first time in my life I got a cleaner. Still feel a bit funny about it but for ds' sake we can't live in a pig sty (tho' it didn't bother me before he he). What to get her for Xmas? Any ideas? I'm tending towards a bottle of something and/or vouchers for CM as she gets paid for 52 weeks a year anyway and maybe extra £ for cleaner.

Better go and do some work but will sneakily keep thread on screen minimised for looking in later. Bye for now...

Lizzzombie · 12/12/2007 17:36

ARGHHHHHHHH!!!
DJ has got this really annoying habit which is driving me mad! He has started grinding his top and bottom teeth together, and it makes a really nasty noise! Its sending me up the wall, its just like a "nails on the blackboard" noise!

OP posts:
vinorouge · 12/12/2007 18:49

Lizz that sounds ANNOYING

Just had fish and chips for tea. DH not back til 11.30 so vegging on my own.

Jodie - I have got some fairy foam oven cleaner so will be using that when I eventually get round to cleaning it.

L2D - I use a nursery so not getting a present for the. Think I would settle for a bottle of something or vouchers for CM.

laughalotsofpresents · 12/12/2007 20:36

Big hugs and kisses to eah she has just text me and is very shook up as she has had a car accident, a man has walked out in front of her and she has hit him thankfully everyone is ok and the man is on his way to hospital to get checked over.
