Brand new and shiney, just like all those xmas presents which have already been wrapped up () and are underneath the colour co-ordinated tree!

Happy birthday lizz.

Funeral was horrid I couldnt go as nobody to have the kids but wayne said it was so so sad. They played there wedding song coming out of church and they let off three balloons each of the children had one and his wife. The church was packed and he had a fab send off just as he would have wanted according to his mum and dad. What a waste of a life x

Sorry to hear about the funeral Lal. They're awful at the best of times, but can't imagine if it's someone your age with a young family

Happy birthday Lizz . Are we the same age now??

Just back from a lovely trip away for mil's 60th. Glad you all pay attention to my previous posts, so all knew exactly where I was .

Eah and anyone else who now uses cow's milk. We started Pip on this a few days ago, and her poo's have been really vile since (and now has really bad nappy rash for the first time since when she was little). Any advice / comments?

DH really pleased to hear about your dad. Don't worry about SS - it will be nice to get a pressie after Xmas!

Right, better go and unpack and get some washing in. Sigh...

Oh, I really really want to get to know you all so much. I dont think I ever can though. you all seem to be so bonded, and have of course known each other for so long now... sorry to sound like a whiner, i'm not normally.

things are really difficult for me just now, and I cannot get out too much to meet people with LO the same age as mine, so really hoped i might on here. I'm just not very good at keeping up with where the thread goes too.

Sorry to gate crash you all. I'll keep reading the thread though. I have read htings which help so much to know we are doing pretty much the same as every one else 'our' age!

Happy birthday to the birthday girl too! It was mine a couple of weeks ago. I always feel a little hard done by being so near to christmas, but you are even closer!have you found it a problem like I do? the main thing is, people aeem SO busy at this time of year to help me celebrate

Anyway, I do hope you are all well!

susiecutie - just jump in when you can, please don't feel excluded it great to have loads of different people around and some people like canmummy only joined recently, I find MN such a life saver at times, just to know other peoples kids are the same (Laughalot ds and my dd1 are so similar so its lovely to moan/rant about them to each other) have you looked in the meet up section as tehre may be a local meet up close to you (although I have looked at my one have never actually managed to make a meet up yet I know Wilkie went to one near her) and maybe we should do another secret santa thing randomly through the year just to cheer everyone up

Well Ellie came in at 5am saying her tummy itched, i rolled over and said 'oh well never mind go back to sleep' she was very insistent and went and got her stool form her room to reach the lightswitch in our room and turned on the light and she has spots all over her tummy and back and one mahoosive one behing her ear which means she has Chicken Pox what fantastic timing thankfully she is rather pleased about it all (as her best mate had them the other week) and she isnt ill with them so thats good. Athough its now likely that in the next 10-21 days Hattie will catch them which will be aorund her birthday , spoke to nhs direct and apparently she is infectious until they have scabbed over so now need to check whether my 'older' guests over xmas have had chicken pox

Ok Ok I haven't managed to stay away just yet, Jacob is sat in his booster seat (which is on the lounge floor waiting to go in the car) watching Baby Einstein looking so cute. He just climbed in himself

Susie - please don't feel like that, it's true that we are bonded but always love to welcome newcomers. Canmummy and bunnyhunny are relatively new, as is love2dance. Whereabouts are you in the country?? You can always email me for a chat if you want [email protected]

I went to a meet up (which was average although did meet one other MNer my age who is lovely), I have met up with Vino, RGee and EAH from this thread which was great.

Just try and keep posting, a lot of people post sporadically now because they are back to work etc but we still all love to chat

atishoo!
bleurgh...I have the lurgi.
DP seems to be much better - half his normal size practically though!
Me and LO have evil colds.
Poor you EAH - chicken pox over xmas. Big hugs!

UD - I live near the long man too! If I was well I'd have come out to see you. But I am ill, and have pulled a half day from work. Have to be in after lunch.

Rgee - am definately postponing my birthday celebrations! Yesterday was truly pants.

Susie - yes, having a birthday near xmas is shite! I hate it. Combined presesnts, combined cards, presents wrapped in xmas paper etc. And everyone too skint to come out. Although, most people are pretty good. Anyone who does send me a combined card/present - knows not to do it again in a hurry! How ungrateful am I!? When is your birthday?

right, off to clean up my house. One day of illness and it looks like a bomb has gone off in it. Grr! Doesnt help that my shiney new bike is in the living room as there is no where else to put it until we can get a cover for it and put it in the garden. FuN!

And here I am again! At work and its not busy. Just let one of the lads go out to get pizza for us...mouth watering already.

Knackered cos DH went out last night to 'take it easy' cos he was taking Ellen over to my mums this morning. At 2 am I was still awake and worrying where he was so I just kept trying his phone. He eventually answered and to be fair wasn't drunk but 'had lost track of time'. I was not happy and we are both exhausted today. Sleeeeeep this afternoon !!!

Tonight going for a surprise 30th meal at malmaison (excited cos never eaten there and feel posh) it was good value though £25 each for festive menu and we are in their private dining room which seats 12 max and there are 11 of us.

Susie (is it you who has a bad back??? Sorry if I've got that wrong). Come on here whenever you need a chit chat there is usually someone about

Lizz - happy belated birthday. It's DH's on xmas eve and I always get separate presents for him.

e&h - anyone mentioned shingles to you? Thats what you usually get if you've had chicken pox but get infected again (I have had it and its very itchy but usually just red lumps on your skin). I had it over xmas one year and couldn;t see my grandparents in case they caught it.

It's starting to thaw!!!

Unfortunately, not before the water pipes to the kitchen have frozen. We've got water in the bathroom, but nothing in the kitchen.

Susie - I think everyone feels a bit like that, no matter when they join, but we're all really happy for people to join: the more the merrier! Just dive in. Don't worry about forgetting who we all are, I forget all the time. Heck, I forget who I am half the time

Symapthies on the pox eandh, glad E isn't too unwell with them. It's going around up here too, and neither ds has ever had it, it's only a matter of time... But I don't think you can catch shingles from chicken pox, it's a reactivation of the virus left over from when you had chicken pox IYSWIM. But someone with shingles can give chicken pox to someone else...
Sympathies too to you Liz, what a crummy birthday - but the bike sounds nice (even if it is cluttering up your front room!)

RANT ALERT

Phoned people coming on xmas day to warn them of the chicken pox, however, confirmed that you CANNOT catch shingles form chicken pox(NHS direct confirmed) you can catch c pox from c pox and thats it. However my aunt (mums sister) told my great uncle that if he comes here xmas day he cant go to hers boxing day as my cousin (her dd) just had a baby and they dont want any germs near him FFS how pathetic, I dont really care but it pisses me off that they beleive her over the doctor I spoke to. Anyway obviously everyone wants to see the new baby and I dont mind (although most people seem to have forgotten it is Hattie's 1 st Christmas too )

So just my Mum and Dad coming to lunch and brother,gf,nephew, gf mum, gf brother coming in the afternoon. Less cooking for me, less people means less crap laying around and to be honest if you are going to be that precious about a baby (and my cousin because apparently she is finding it very hard, yep I remember that feeling but her dh works from home and been on extended paternity leave since baby born) so sorry rant over and feel better.

Got Eddas and her dh a little present from her dd and ds today as I dont think anyone in their families will remember to get them anything - cant post it on here in case she sees it but I think its lovely and its very very personal so am hoping they'll like it. Am seeing them all tomorrow for the Father Christmas outing.

Chicken Pox not to bad although she has one in her private parts and says its very itchy just having to try and distract her from scratching.

2happy sorry to hear about water hope it thaws soon

Lizz hope you feel better and work wasnt to busy

Vin - sounds like you deserve a nice sleep (dh out tonight although cab booked ofr 11.45pm lets see if he remembers at 11.45 ) have got myself a pile of trashy magazines and MN to keep me amused (assuming Ellie settles ok)

Thank you all SO much. really appreciated your posts

vinorouge yes, it is me with the bad back, and the DH who works away from home mon- friday. Its shitty really for us just now. So far away, and I really NEED him.

I had a prlapsed disc causd by a patient falling on me at work nearly 3 years ago, which prolapsed again when I was preg.

Have to toake alot of morphine and its all abit crap really. not what i wanted when i bcame a mummy. Luckily my DD is fantastic and she actually seems to understand already, that i cant always do things with her.

I am on her alot, have 'got to know' lots of lovely people in other threads and around the place. Not met up with anyone yet. I do have a few friends with LO, just tricky with me not being able to get to them too often, and there's only so much i can expect.

I'm not usually miserable about it all, just having particularly bad time just now and DH been delayed in coming home for christmas. feels like he will never be home with us. still, he does have 2 weeks off so cant complain too much, so long as he does make it by christmas eve.

Thanks again for your responses, so kind

I will try to keep better track of the thread!
