Brand new and shiney, just like all those xmas presents which have already been wrapped up () and are underneath the colour co-ordinated tree!

lal - I wish! I used to be clever - I have a PhD and everything. Now I look for tumbleweed emoticons! Who said there's no such thing as baby brain?

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 07/12/2007 17:54

......."(#)".........

Now THAT'S a tumbleweed emoticon.

Just had hair cut and coloured and I feel sexy as a sexy thing in sexyville.

Theres a thread in chat about your name and how people have mis-read it !

We've been out to get a tree, its all decorated and you know what ......

..... ITS SNOWING

Shimmer · 08/12/2007 14:59

Hi ladies. Seems like AGES since i've been on here!! Just having a quick skim though what's been going on, but have probably missed loads! UD have you spoken to your friend yet?

I seem to have NO time at the moment. I'm really enjoying working 3 days a week but it's so knackering and I'm having to cram so much stuff into the other 4 days that I feel like I don't even have time to breathe most of the time!! It's all good though and I only occasionally feel a bit overwhelmed with it all.

I have managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done though (Nothing wrapped yet though!) I can't wait for Christmas, I'm so excited!!!

Freddie is really close to walking properly. He walks well holding hands now and can take about 4/5 steps on his own. He really thinks he can walk on his own already though and often just walks off the end of whatever he's holding on to, without anyone there to catch him! It's quite amusing but has made for quite a lot of bumps and bruises!!

Lizzzombie · 08/12/2007 21:25

Hi Shimmer - good to see you are around still and havent left us (me) now you are back at work! I reckon the more hours you work the more organised you are. I am sure that its a direct ratio thing.

Wilkie - I have to say that when I first saw your xmas name I did have to do a double take too! It does read sort of funny.

Kat - I am sooooo jealous its snowing where you are! Where do you live again? its just pissing with rain here....

oooh - just noticed xmas emotions!

pcf - hope you managed a night off.

am very impressed that some of you have your xmas trees up already. I've had mine in the garden for ages, but not brought it inside. Its a teenytiny real one which we can keep in a pot outside for most of the year, and bring it inside each xmas, and it will grow the same height as Dylan each year as this year he is the same height as it!

Am bored waiting for X factor results. DP is out as I am having an afternoon shopping in Lewes tomorrow with a mate of mine (we may just go to the pub though!) bored bored bored....

(@) (@) (@) tumbleweed blows acrosss the thread.....

:.:.:.:.:.:.....(@)....:.:.:

(tumbleweed in the desert)

  • ooh, X Factor results back on!

bunnyhunny · 08/12/2007 23:21

hi lizz
I was about, but dh kept pestering me to play metroid prime on the wii with him, so i was a bit back and forth. still laughing about taking a cast of our lo's bums! here I suggested it to dh, and he said - (sigh) just remember the bond between you and s is stronger because your his mum
what was THAT meant to mean?! lol

pcf - hope your lo is a bit better tonight.

wilkie - I noticed the nearly rudeness in your name, but just thought I had a dirty mind!

where is everyone?

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 09/12/2007 11:50

Morning I am here, I was here last night but couldnt think of anything interesting to say, actually still havent got anything interesting to report, got my Mum and Dad coming fo rdinner so doing roast beef (this is sort of like my trial run for xmas day as have them and some others coming for dinner and 1st time I have done it)

Work tomorrow and then off all week as we are at preschool every day, Tuesday as normal, wednesday is nativity and xmas bazaar, thursday preschool as normal and friday is their xmas party and all Ellie is concerned about is that they'll be cakes at the party (now where does she get that idea form?)

2Happy · 09/12/2007 15:41

Bonjour. Is p*ing down here - but it was snowing most of yesterday afternoon. ds1 was disappointingly unmoved by it!
Had a lovely day yesterday having an early christmas lunch with friends - including Looshkin - though I started to regret leaving the leftover trifle for them to finish up when i sat down at the computer this afternoon .
dh is at the races today - why couldn't they have been rained off? Then when he gets back I have to pop over to see my grandparents who got d&v on holiday and are a bit poorly.
My parents are home from their holiday tomorrow - whoopee! I've really missed them actually - they were away for 3 weeks which is the longest they've been away for about 10 years. My oldest sister is already planning how many times she can ask them to babysit in the next few weeks!!
dh has done the christmas shopping for the boys - so guess what he's bought them? Yup, tractor, combine and a baler. Tis my fault, I said they had enough tractor toys, but then failed miserably to come up with any good ideas of what else they could get (for some reason, dh didn't approve of "cardboard box" - why?? they love playing with cardboard boxes!).
Hope you're all keeping warm x

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 09/12/2007 15:54

Am fiddling with festive names...

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 09/12/2007 15:55

(Tis 2Happy, BTW)

Was going to have "AndTheKidsStartSingingOutAtHalfPastFive" in the style of The Pogues, but it was too long!

bunnyhunny · 09/12/2007 19:53

this thread is getting so bare recently...

2happy - good name! lol! I like the pogues tribute - pity its too long. The christmas time song by Cliff Richard just reminds me of Reeves and Mortimers version - christmas time, mistletoe & wine, children swimming in pits filled with brine.. i do know all the words for some reason, but I won't share them right now!

no snow here just rain..

I havent got much news really, but I'll post it anyway. S started feeding himself with a spoon today, so I got the video camera out. As soon as I started recording, he started choking , so now we have footage of me grabbing him, tipping him upside down and slapping him until he puked up the offending sweetcorn!! So glad I did the infant resus course, cos i just reacted immediately.

We went out for a family meal - my family very rarely gets together, but it was quite nice really. S was the life and soul of the meal - showing off to the camera, and giving out bug cheesy grins to everyone! bless, he thinks everything's all to do with him!

Lizzzombie · 09/12/2007 20:06

well done BH on the choking thing. It panics me every time he does it. I did the infant resus course near us but I think it put the fear of god into me more!

I think I have my baby's illness. I feel rotten to the core, all achey etc ,have dosed up on lemsip and am off to bed with a hot water bottle. Bleurgh. Why are baby/child illnesses so much worse than adult ones?

OP posts:
RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 09/12/2007 20:23

Evening -

Lizz hope you feel better after a nights sleep

Bunny - well done on quick reaction I have done basic first aid few years ago at work but think a refresh may be an idea

Dinner went well and brother/gf and nephew popped in was manic with kids screaming etc and on xmas day afternoon I have all of them plus another 3 adults eeek

Have got play Mrs Santa this week and pop to all my friends houses and drop off and pick up xmas pressies, although in all honesty dropping theirs off and not picking any up would be better as think we may be overloaded this year.

Have decided to cut my huge buggy collection so am writing cards for my mamas and papas travel sysytem, quinny lilac 3 wheeler and my pink and black stroller to put up in local shops, am getting a new robust stroller this week (mclaren grey and pink) and have vowed I am not buying any more buggies/pushchairs !!!
