Brand new and shiney, just like all those xmas presents which have already been wrapped up () and are underneath the colour co-ordinated tree!

Awww EaH - it all sounds SOOOOO familiar. I sometimes feel I am below booze, sport and computer games when it comes to DH. But it is always the booze that gets me cos he is so useless the next day.

2H - have a lovely weekend.

Wilkie - you doing anything nice this weekend? sounds like we all need cheering up.

I'm off to il's tomorrow, but they've offered to have P whilst I go in to town (DH will be at footie). I too hate town close to Xmas, but it will just be nice having time too myself (and millions of other shoppers getting in my way, but I may just find a quiet corner in a cafe somewhere...)

Morning (gulps dregs of strong coffee greedily). Had a do at work last night (joint 50th and 40th birthdays with fish & chips and champagne). Very jolly but I can't take my drink. Forced myself to gulp lots of water before setting off home about 9.30 pm and thought i was going to barf on the tube home. DH's turn for a work do will come in 2 weeks except he and a couple of his colleagues have decided to go to Brighton and stay overnight!

Felt adventurous and bought some rabbit to casserole from a butcher near work. Of course I left it in the fridge at work where it still sits.

Gabriel bright eyed and bushy tailed while mummy isn't. I hardly go out but due to meet girlfriends for lunch today (no drink for me).

2Happy what did you wear to your wedding? I have one to go to on 29th December (country church) and haven't a clue what to wear.

Enjoy the weekend.

Oh UD have a great time (I am def going to go next year just going to bully eddas to coming with me!)

Went to town this morning and Hattie is the proud owner of her 1st pair of walking shoes ,black patent with small butterflies on them (and £25 for the privilge!!) eek at thr thought of both of them in proper shoes. She walked out of the shop holding Ellies hand and I honestly had a tear in my eye.

Ellie been a real little cow madam today and is going to bed soon.

Dh home from work and getting ready for his work do, he is wearing trainers which means he cannot go clubbing till 3am altough some pubs let them in with trainers and are open till 1am anyway he promises i am sceptical that he'll be home by 1am and that he wants to help do the tree tomorrow. Apparently we are having a family day as he has planned out exactly what we are doing (makes a change from me making decisions)

Am going to have a long soak in teh bath with my copy of OK magazine that I got today, order myself a chinese, watch some crap TV and MN then go to bed at a reasonable hour and attempt to have some decent sleep

((wilkie)) - can they change your ad's? can't you get used to them, and they stop working so well? if you ever need to chat..
eah - sorry your dh is being so crap. I think they forget you have them all week, and you need a break too.
ud - have a great time at the mnet do. will that mean mnet is quiet tonight?
l2d - still of your lo's name!

we bought S his first pair of shoes today. we went with the cruisers as I thought the walkers looked pretty clumpy. he is a size 3! he walked all round town holding my hand! bless him. and he can climb stairs now too...

and I came on my period too. a strange mix of disappointment and relief! does anyone find theirs are heavier now they've had kids? I used to get through a pack of tampax every 3 months, now I get through 1 pack each time. I had better mark this one on the calendar this time - I am hoping that perhaps they might be regular now

and we FINALLY booked our holiday to barcelona. we booked a lovely looking apartment, and the guy was really nice on the phone. It's funny, we always book stuff online, but I have never worried before that it might not exist or that it might not be asa described! I think it'll be a while til we get back into proper travelling again!
so we are going in March. I really CANNOT WAIT!!!!!

Well DH had excelled himself he said he'd be home between 12 and 1 and I thought he walked in 1.12 (and apparently had phoned for a cab at 12.30 but they were quite busy, he never ever gets a cab he always walks home!) and although he'd obviously had quite a few beers he was fairly coherent and certainly not staggering around drunk like normal!! He was up at 7.45 although had spent most of the morning laying on the sofa watching match of the day repeat.

The kids on the other hand were a nightmare I went to bed at 10pm and read till about 10.30 then fell asleep Ellie woke me at 11.30 because she'd accidentally wet herself o got up got clean pj's and change bedlinen, all back alseep by 12.15 but Hattie woke at 12.30 and literally did not stop moaning/cryin till 3.30am absolutely nothing would make her stop (tried medised/milk/cuddles/putting her in bed with me (although didnt want that as dh had been drinking) leaving her etc) eventually she cried herself to sleep but was still up at 6.25 shes just had an hours nap, but she has a very snotty nose which normally means another tooth so will go eamining in her mouth later. Ellie slept in till 7.20 so I think I may have a nap later

We are off to asda to get a few new decorations that we are doing the xmas tree thios afternoon and I suppoe I better cook a dinner

Lal / UD hope you both had a good evening last night. UD - any gossip from the MN meet?

Love2dance - hope your hangover has gone now!

Bunny - my periods are soooo much heavier since having lo. I feel as though I'm haemorraging some days (tmi?). And after 4 months of perfectly regular, I have returned to my old ridiculous irregular cycle. Great.

Eah - am loving the Xmas name!
Did you get a nap today? Hope H is not coming down with anything. I love E in her angel outfit.

Has anyone else put their Chrissie decorations up? I'm thinking I can't put our tree up in its usual spot cos P will pull it over. We'll prob put it up in the hall instead but then I won't be able to see the lights twinkle. Sob.

Am impressed with all this shoe buying. P is nowhere near walking. If she can be bothered, she pulls herself up, usually as far as her kness unless there is something really interesting to see.

Had a lovely weekend. Met my friend yesterday for shopping but after an hour struggling against the tide of people, we gave in and went for a cuppa and long chat! Am off to watch Pirates of the Caribbean part 3 on DVD, with a curry and a glass of wine shortly. Mmmm...johnny depp....mmm...orlando bloom...mmm...

Hi all. Long time no speak! Hope everyone is well.

Happy Birthday for last week Laughalot.

Hope you had good nights out last night. We went out for DH's 30th (it is not til end of the months but it is a nightmare getting people to go out on the 23rd Dec!). Went skiing at a new real snow skiing place where DH tried snow boarding of the very steep slope even though he has never even skied before! He fell off the ski lift then came down the slope on his arse, then got chucked off as he had told them he was experienced. Very funny to watch!

I was supposed to be taking Luke to play in the snow and see Father Christmas but he got a really bad cold on the friday, then I accidently gave him cough medicine which had antihistamine(sp?) in it which he is allergic to so was a zombie all sat and couldnt sleep fri night or sat night. At least I know now that he is allergic to the antihistamine and it wasnt the reaction that made him mental last time. But it is so hard when they are so ill.

Had a good night but meal out was ruined when even though we were booked in for 9pm, we didnt get our meal till after 11. Gave us a huge discount and free drinks but who wants to eat a big meal at 11pm? Was good to get dressed up and go out though.

Alls well appart from that. Ruth is well, still not crawling but is sort of getting around by rolling and shuffling along. She moves but at a snails pace!

Thanks to everyone for telling me what their los sleep in. I think she must be a little icepop as I suspected

4 teeth now! Although when she is eating she never uses them, but pushes the food to her gums to bite

Sorry to hear about all the DH problems. I dont drink anymore and last night I was driving. We got back and DH went straight to sleep while I sorted bedding out for friends that were staying, was up with Luke til 3am then lots in the night, cleared up and changed Ruth's bedding as she had been sick (my mum gave her a massive tin of spaggetti that was ment for Luke, ignoring the jar of baby food that was on the counter so was stuffed) then up with him in the morning all while DH was snoring. So how come it was him who had to have a kip all afternoon on the sofa then!

Why are men so crap at having less sleep. DH is incapacitated from a bad night where as I have to just get on with it!

Mind you, has anyone been watching the new series of House of tiny tearaways? That woman is so lazy! Worse than any DHs on here surely!!

Hello

Sound as you have been very busy DH its my sil 30th birthday onn 23rd december and we are going out in january I think!

Rgee - be thankful re he shoes bloody expensive although Hattie does seem to actually walk better with them on she made it from one sofa to the other when we came in (about 8 steps) took them off and she'd do 3 and then fall over???????

DH has been on the sofa most of the day, we all went to asda which was fun got all the beer and wine in for xmas as good offers but its now all stored in my mum and dads shed as nowhere to put it safely here (plus out of dh's reach!) Hattie just seems unable to settle at the mo she had a good afternoon sleep and is eating well but its taken 1hr 20mins to get her to settle tonight, she was so good at sleeping from 3 to 7 months now its all gone wrong wont settle up in night etc although I am trying to be patient because I can see 2 teeth (whic will make 8 !) coming plus the cold but its hard when you are bloody knackered. Dh did say go and have a sleep but cause I was cooking a roast all different things needed doing and he wouldnt have a clue. We had a mini xmas dinner but with chicken, sausages in bacon, roast pots, broccoli, carrots, hredded greens, parsnips and stuffing was lovely and followed with chocolate sponge and chocolate custard.

Tree hasnt come down so far - we have put loads of the musical xmas toys around the bottom and Hattie quite obsessed with a white bear that sings and has glowing cheeks seems to be diverting the attentiona way from the tree. Ellie however is moaning because I havent put any chocolates on there (mmmm now I wonder why?)

I have just made a duvet cover and 2 sets of curtains for the dolls house as my Dad is starting to wallpaper and carpet it this week before he goes to London for his eye operation on the 12th.

Hello everyone!
No festive name here I am afraid, as my birthday is on Dec 21st and i don't feel festive until after then!

We went swimming today and LO managed to drink half the pool water, when we got out I gave him lunch in the cafe, and as we were waiting for DP to drive round to collect us (70mph rain and wind outside!) LO promptly puked all over me - must have been all the swimming pool water.
Poor little thing. I had to drive hom e in my bra though -!!

Ok. bit worried, DJ has a temp of 38.3 (was 38.2 half an hour ago)
NHS direct say phone dr if its over 38 degrees.
He is onl y just dropping off to sleep which isnt like him a.
He is teething, and tooth number 3 came through last night.
Also, he was shivering a bit when we got out of the pool this afternoon, so it could be a chill or something.
Not sure what to do.
I've taken him out of his grow bag and turned the heating off too.
I gave him some nurofen about half an hour ago too.

Is there anything else I should be doing?

hi everyone

good to hear from you again dh - seems like ages! DO you have any pics of your dh coming down on his arse? potential blackmail material?

Lizz - its horrible when they have a temperature. try alternating calpol and ibruprofen every 3 hours. keep him cool and offer lots of water. and be prepared for a long night! we sponged s down too, but he hated it.

no decs here yet. I usually wait til school has broken up, as I tend to get a bit sick and tired of it all at school (it's pretty full on christmas from now til we break up) and like my peace and normality at home! I really am a scrooge

we used to have a tree that my mate found (as a tiny twig thing) in her garden. we nurtured it for years, and now it resembles not a christmas tree, but a pine tree. lol. we used to humiliate the poor thing every christmas! but now it looks like a proper pine tree, we are going to release it back into the wild! so I guess we need to go buy a tree now...

took s down town again today (we had to get a new microwave as ours keeps popping) and we spent about 10 minutes JUST going up and down the kerb. then dh buggered off with the microwave while I had s in 1 hand (trying to steer away from kerbs) and shopping in the other. then we came home and had a massive barney, which ended up with me throwing a glove across the room (!) which hit a cuppa, which spilt into his work laptop. and

must be the season for dh's to be a pain in the arse!

Rgee back to normal now thanks. After pregnancy I don't want to drink much these days so a little goes a long way. Gabriel just the same as your lo re walking. I haven't researched shoes and had no idea there was a difference between cruising ones and walking ones!

Bunnyhunny thanks for the name compliment. I'll have to start using Gabriel as much as I can (although he is used to Louis).

Eandh and Dragonhart you deserve medals. It's amazing how quickly one forgets the sleepless nights with newborns. Then when you're up looking after lo's and cleaning up through the night it's really tough.

How was the MN party?

Lizzombie hope you lo is feeling better. Does he usually get a temperature with new teeth?

Morning all. Haven't had a chance to catch up on posts yet.

Had a rough week with Alex last week, am finding him mentally exhausting at the moment but luckily Max has been a little angel!
I'm looking forward to Alex starting his sn school in April, think it will be good for both of us!

Had a nice break yesterday and went shopping with my friend to Portsmouth. They had a Victorian Christmas thing on which was quite good although we got rather wet! Then went round Gunwharf Quays and then went to the cinema and saw Fred Claus haha! I enjoyed it though, got me in the Christmas spirit.
Dp said the kids were good which was a relief!

Going to put the Christmas tree up this evening so that will be fun!

Hope everyone's ok!

Afternoon all. Haven't kept notes, so hope I don't forget too much

MoM - hey, how are you?! Thanks for the birthday wishes, hope you're doing ok x
Wilkie - sorry to hear the depression's worse. Are you sleeping ok?
DH - sorry but PedMSL at your dh's 30th exploits! Very funny!
PCF - sorry that Alex is going through a bad patch. How come the SN school starts in April (just curious)?
UD - how was the MN night out? How did MrUD cope?
Liz - how is lo today?

Sorry to hear about crap dh's. I definitely can't complain though, because we went to our wedding on saturday and dh told me he'd drive all the way there and back so I could have an evening off and drink (actually his justification was that my paralysing social incompitence is better if I drink and we weren't going to know many people there...). Hey ho, was good fun and the ILs coped with the boys (tho ds2 refused EBM again and had to make do with a slightly boozy middle of the night feed ).
Got to say I don't think we'll have a tree this year. We've got an artificial one, but it looked a lot smaller in the shop... anyway, long story short, it only fits in places where it's impossible to kind of screen it off from ds2's sticky little mitts! I might think about changing my name to something festive though. I might even get around to wrapping some presents... dh wants a fricking itouch, like he needs another gadget. (heh heh, just typed 'neds' instead of needs - now that's an appropriate typo!)

hiya all!

MN party was great, i got home (thanks to Quootie's dh!!) at around half 1. or was it 2? i can't remember. many mohitos were consumed. i danced to Abba. yes, Abba.

we looked at another house in Saturday. me and dh now disagree on which one to get. the one we looked at weekend before last is ok - it's small, but there's parking, no garden, but it is right opposite the park. the decor is appalling but there is a downstairs loo. the one we looked at this weekend is also small, but really lovely decor, gorgeous kitchen (dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge and freezer, lovely cooker) has a garden but no parking. there is parking further down the street though. dh likes the first one, i much prefer the second one. we're now looking for a third option.

Lizzz - hope dj's better soon. xx

Ud- sounds like you had a great time! Sounds like both the houses have good points. Are you renting? We rent our place and I have to say a downstairs loo was a godsend when toilet training Alex (and still is so he doesn't have to trapse upstairs everytime he needs a wee - 100x an hour!!) and also doesn't wake Max up if he's up for a nap. Also our decor and kitchen were pretty crappy but we repainted ourselves and I guess I'm quite glad that it isn't pristine with my kids about - don't have to worry so much it! Although the 2nd house sounds loooovely!

2Happy- Aw that was nice of your dh! Alex would've started school last Sept as he was 4 in August but I think because the SN school had quite a large intake and he was one of the youngest he's starting after Easter. Don't mind too much though as his SN nursery takes children til they're 5 so he'll keep doing every morning there til he starts school.

Last week Max decided he does not want milk anymore! Tried formula in a bottle and a cup and he won't have either and we even tried cow's milk but he won't touch that either. I keep trying every day incase it's just a phase but no success yet! Suppose I will just have to keep giving him lots of fromage frais and dairy stuff and hope he changes his mind!
