Brand new and shiney, just like all those xmas presents which have already been wrapped up () and are underneath the colour co-ordinated tree!

I love having laptop as I am currently mn'ing sitting next to ellie on my sofa and I have wireless router so if dh pissing me off I can go upstairs with it

SproutsRGrEEat · 19/12/2007 09:06

Jodie - I've just put the kettle on so I'll make you a cuppa too. I still look back on November in horror when lo got one thing after another and was ill for the whole month.

Ohh, Dragon forgot to say hope your dad is recovering well.

Eah the laptop becomes even more appealing! Might ask for money for my birthday then go buy one in the January sales.

Lizz how do you feel having your birthday so near Xmas? (It was you wasn't it?). I guess many of our lo's will be in a similar position, but my birthday is earlyish January, and I used to hate it cos everyone was worn out from partying, and my presents were usually tat bought last minute at the end of the sales

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 19/12/2007 10:04

RGee - I'll have a cuppa too please. Just waiting for my BF to arrive.

With your MS office - make a copy of it and a note of the key code then sell the original on eBay. I did this and got a fair bit (not that I condone making illegal copies of software )

Jodie - bummer about the illness. Let's hope it passes in time for crimbo

EAH - PMSL at 'just the ends please'. Bless!

LAL - how are you feeling today?

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 19/12/2007 11:18

bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored and I have got a headache

Dentist done - ellie reluctantly showed him her teeth, hattie attempted to drink the mouthwash and now we are home and have diddly squat to do for the rest of the day hence my bored part..............

theUrbanDryAdventCalendar · 19/12/2007 11:54

hi everyone, i'm afraid i won't be able to open on Saturday either as we'll be at Stonehenge for the Solstice!!

have fun though! xx

Lizzzombie · 19/12/2007 13:07

Coooo-ee!
Have had a mad busy morning and am about to pop off and get DJ from nursery, then off to a neighbours xmas party this afternoon. Not sure how long DJ will last before he has a tantrum from having no afternoon nap.

Having a birthday near xmas is a pile of shit!
No one can ever come out and everyone is always skint. I am postponing my night out until the end of January.

Urban. Is the solstice not on Friday? Its normally on the 21st Dec (my birthday) as its the shortest day of the year. I've never known it to be on the 22nd.

Right. Am offski. Catch you later x

Hello everyone,

Lal I was really sorry to read about your friend. I hope his dp is getting lots of support.
DH: hope your dad's doing ok.

You guys are so organised with posting. I'm a bit random with checking in at the moment as just haven't found the time.

Went out at weekend which was fun but not sure I'll use my babysitter again (17 y/o daughter of our CM). On the rare occasions we do go out we usually use the Sitters agency but thought I'd give this girl a go as Gabriel knows her and she's studying child care at college. I'd said she could bring a friend and she did but I couldn't help but notice that both smelled of alcohol . It might just have been alcopops but how seriously is she taking her responsibility? Back to Sitters I think.

Gabriel is still coldy with green stuff coming out of nose but no cough. He's already had 2 lots of ab's for a chest infection and this particular one has been going on for nearly 2 weeks. I'm taking him back to Dr tomorrow (tho' all they seem to do is tell me to give him Medised and prescribe antihistamine). Am I being paranoid to think this upper respiratory tract stuff has gone on far too long? Maybe it's just the season. We do have 2 cats...

Whoops. Not been drinking, honest.

Lizzzombie · 19/12/2007 14:59

Hi Love2Dance - are you sure it wasnt their cheap perfume which was the alcohol smell?! - out of interest, how much does your sitters agency charge?

Well, this afternoon has been a washout so far. I bombed it up to nursery, picked up baby, bombed back into town to collect a perscription, then home, changed me and baby to be at house down the road for a 'party' by 2pm.
Hmm...well, I was there at 2:01, with two other parents and their little ones. The 'host' kept saying things would start, when the others got there.....well....45 mins later, with no food or drink, or toys being offered (I had brought my secret santa present, a bottle of wine and a tin of biscuits) she eventually offered a cup of fruit punch, then door bell went and the 'others' arrived.
Dylan promptly kicked off. Very tiered from nursery. So I have come home.
Non event.
Waste of a bottle of wine and tin of biscuits.
Some people obviously don't watch Anthea Turner Perfect Housewife do they.

Now I have to clean my bathroom. Bollox!

wilkie, I've been away for so long I missed J starting with a childminder.
Is MIL not having him now?

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 19/12/2007 18:13

iirc wilkies dh has him on mondays, he goes to cm on tuesday and mil on thursdays this means mil does not have to stay overnight

Love2dance · 19/12/2007 18:41

Pheww,
Just back from not so quick food shopping and CM gift trip. CM said Gabriel hardly touched lunch (most unlike him) so he's a bit mis tonight (I'm sure he's got another tooth coming as well as the cold. Off to Dr again tomorrow but not sure what they can do - not more ab's I hope).

Lizzz: Sitters charge about £20 a quarter. There was a joining fee too. I pay the baby-sitter direct. £6.70 p/h which is rounded up to the nearest 1/4 of an hour. The girls they've sent have been really nice though it adds up if you're out for a longer evening.

Better get on with writing some last minute cards.

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 19/12/2007 18:47

EAH - you are perfectly correct (as usual)

No news about DH's job yet. Feel very MEH about the whole thing

vinorouge · 19/12/2007 20:58

I ended up buying wine for the girls at nursery. Bit of a cop out but I felt I had to buy something and had no inspiration. 3 bottles for a tenner in asda and it was ok wine.

Wilkie - what does MEH mean?
I am out on sat night so couldn't do secret santa then either. Looks like we are gonna have difficulties getting together - will we have to wait til xmas day?

Just been to mothercare and got some lovely tops for ellen in the sale. Realised she has several pretty skirts but no tops to go with them and I want her to look pretty while we are staying with family over xmas rather then being in nursery type clothes iykwim.

EAH - hope your brothers house gets sorted out. I hope mine goes smoothly! The people we are buying off have been delaying it so I have been a bit peeved lately.

Anyway - shall I share my newest news with you????? Baby vino no 2 is due on 26 june!! DH and I are very excited and I had a scan yesterday which reassured me all seems ok. It works out perfectly with my secondment at work cos I do that for 6 months then will be on mat leave again - cos my secondment is higher salary it means I get higher maternity pay too.

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 19/12/2007 20:59

vino - congrats thats fab news wooo hooo I have gone all tingly aaawwwwwwww I want a baby again

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 19/12/2007 21:01

Shimmer · 19/12/2007 21:01

Think I missed out on J starting with a childminder too Wilkie - glad you got it sorted out though
We went to look round a nursery for F that I actually liked today, so am feeling like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders this evening I'll need to change the days I am currently working, but i did warn work about this so fingers crossed it'll all be good.

Shimmer · 19/12/2007 21:03
