Brand new and shiney, just like all those xmas presents which have already been wrapped up () and are underneath the colour co-ordinated tree!

E&H - I have been lurking on due in june thread but not posted yet, was waiting til I knew all was ok. I'll join it earlier than my due date though! (when I joined our antenatal thread).

Shimmer - I might be able to get to see you again anyway cos I will need to be in London for work just not sure how often at the mo.

vinorouge · 19/12/2007 21:24

Jodie I have to say I would have called instead of texting if I was cancelling on the day, prob even if it was the week before to make it a bit more personal. I undertsand what you say about her havign texted you before though. Defo ring her and try to sort it out, if she's not interested in resolving things then at least you tried.

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 19/12/2007 21:25

Congrats Vino

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 19/12/2007 21:29

Jodie - what Vino said but then again, I hate texts - they are so impersonal and can be taken the wrong way. My friend ALWAYS cancels by text and it really annoys me. If she is a good friend and the friendship is worth saving then I would defo ring and maybe send her a little 'sorry' card.

Vino - I am STILL grinning at your news. Are you gonna find out what it is? How do you feel?

JodieG1 · 19/12/2007 21:39

I will call her but our relationship has been fine doing things by text in the past, hence why I texted her this time. I'm just really upset by it all, just not what I need right now.

OK, my next vote for person to be PG next on the thread is UD or bunyhunny (in fact are you already pg? Wasn't your AF late??).

Betcha betcha betcha

Then.......hmmm, dunno

Maybe Dragonhart
RGee
Me
Shimmer
Lizz

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 19/12/2007 22:21

Jodie - try not to let it upset you too much. I think she is overreacting a tad and once she has had time to think about it I'm sure she will come round

canmummy · 19/12/2007 23:30

Congrats vino!

Nearly makes me want another but I'm fairly sure 3's enough!!

I've been busy spending money for the last couple of weeks so no time for mn.

Now have new living room furniture, a piano is being delivered tomorrow (none of us play but it was only £1 on ebay!!), got a wii because I wanted one - kids not getting a look in oh and a new gas fire being fitted tomorrow as well!

All this and this week kids had 5 christmas parties and 5 nativity plays between them

Can't wait for feb as it'll be quieter (Jan busy for birthdays as both dd1 and dd3 have birthdays 3 days apart!)

I don't think I can join in the present opening live as I've no idea about msn. I can barely e-mail half the time let alone set anything new up (and nobody has ever invited me or told me how )
I'm also going out with some other mums round here on saturday night for the 3rd time since lo was born so really looking forward to it! Don't actually know many of them but my ex-childminder's going so at least I'll know someone.

Right, now all shopping done, I promise to be on here more often!

katwith3wisemen · 20/12/2007 00:19

Vino that is fab news but I really thought it would be LTH who would be first !

I'm a bit freaked as I was only thinking today how somebody must be pregnant by now as an 18 month gap is quite common. Maybe I'm psychic

LAL

DS2 is one in 3 days time. I cant believe it. My family are coming up to stay with us and DD is making all the arrangements. Its fancy dress apparantly

She's made a 'pin the nose' on Rudolph and wrapped up a pass the parcel. I'm just looking forward to opening up the bottle of fizz we were given last year and never got around to opening (how did that happen?) I think we're going to crack it open at ten to 2 exactly to recreate the exact moment of his birth ( and it was a bit like a champagne cork popping out )

However, DH informs me he is playing golf with his mates. I think his stats have seriously nosedived.

vinorouge · 20/12/2007 03:54

And here I am at 4am.....
ellen woke screaming just before 1. A cuddle, new nappy and drink settled her back down eventually but I have been wide awake since despite having been knackered all day. There was a strange van with its engine running outside the house that unsettled me for a while too. Tidied up downstairs and thinking about going back to bed now but I feel hungry!

Wilkie - we're not going to find out what it is, will wait for another surprise.

Canmummy - am at your £1 piano. think even EAH would be proud of that bargain! Ellen has discovered the piano at my mums now and bangs the keys happily playing a very low 'tune'!

Remembered that I need to renew car tax so just tried to do it online but website shut for essential maintenance. Its no use!!

Looking forward to being away for a few days over xmas - not having to think about cooking and having help with Ellen ie grandparents who are excited she is awake in the morning rather than wishing she would sleep an extra hour!

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 20/12/2007 07:10

canmummy that is one superb bargain - will you get lessons for the dd's

vino - do you think its pg insomnia , I didnt realise you didnt post until your due date I thought you were around longer than that

Jodie - can see both sides obviously you were all tired and ill, but we have friends that have cancelled plans that we have made at last minute (and normally by text) I think I find it frustrating as you have set aside that daytime and if we tell Ellie then she gets all excited and it all becomes a bit of a nightmare when cancelled, especially if its short notice as its hard to find something else to do. Personally I would ring her and maybe send a little card.

I am not sure Ellie going to make it till Tuesday without spontanoulsy (sp) conbusting with excitement, every morning she asks me if its Christmas yet and she has been going to bed by .30 every night just in case Santa is watching her the only bad part is that they are awake by 6am the latest every day (its 7am and we are all showered, dressed, beds made etc as it was a 5.40am start today

Wilkie - I am everyones online stalker and have a notebook full of trivial info about all of you (that is a joke by the way)

Not much planned today, got to pop to my brothers and pick up some memory cards for the didital photo frames we have got for my parents and pil (bought a card reader to transfer pictures onto memory cards but it was a duff one and my brother has a card reader built into his new laptop - actually rgee will ask him what laptop it is as its super fancy you dont log in you press your fingertip onto a pad and it recognises your print ) pop to tescos for bread and milk and then eddas and her dc coming over for lunch and to trash my house

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 20/12/2007 07:11

bed by 6.30pm that should have said

laughalotsofpresents · 20/12/2007 07:50

Oh fab fab news vino congratulations now the fun begins . Its so lovely to have a summer baby and it has to be a little boy so I can send you loads of everton bits xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bloody hell think I need to get dressed for work.

Oh jodie dont talk to me about friends texting things its a long story ................................................................ ask eah she will fill you in

Aaaaaah a baby im broody

RudolphtherednoseEANDHdeer · 20/12/2007 07:52

oooo no LAL that story is far to long for me to type - but best to say texting LAL if you are delivering bad news is NOT a good idea (ps btw it wasnt me who upset her by texting )

cansantabringmewhatiwantplease · 20/12/2007 09:10

I've changed my name! (this is quite a feat for me as I'm useless with technology as I said before and I've no imagination!! - did you know the "can" bit really stands for my dd's initials?)

Lo back asleep already and dh gone to dd1's nativity with mil. I'm starving but need to go to the hospital for a blood test before eating and can't go now in case piano turns up! I'm thinking of getting lessons for dd1 and myself but will see what her reaction to it being here is.

Suppose I need to get dressed if delivery men due

bunnyhohohunny · 20/12/2007 10:15

hello - i have been lurking but not posting, as me and dh had a huge row as I spend too much time on mn! lol

just a quick post, cos it's gone off my active convos..

vino CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! you must be crazy, but then again I can't really talk!

canmummy - lucky you for a £1 piano. can I suggest you get ssomeone in to tune it - it'll be about £50, but will make a huge difference to how it sounds. pianos are fab.

we have our christmas party at the toddler group today, I was meant to be there at 10, but S fell asleep. gonna go wake him now.
catch you all later!

bunnyhohohunny · 20/12/2007 14:06

Just answered the door to the postie and got my ss present and a ninky nonk!! what a great day!

right got some catching up to do....

Jodie - I asked if you were cambridge, cos I am near Mildenhall. At last a local mnetter (that isnt moving away soon, urban ). I always arrange things through text - but then my mate cancelled a meet-up and I didnt get the text til after I had waited for her - signal is crap here sometimes. I would call and have a chat, it's probably all ok really.

Lizz - welcome to 32! Its not as bad as 31, but it is nearer the big 0 age...

Kw3 - 3 days til the first birthday!! DH tried to arrange going on a course on s's birthday. WE were both going, hmm the 20th, rings a bell that something is happening then. Then rememebered it was sauls birthday .

LAL - . Don't really know what to say, but I'm thinking of you.

Wilkie - I am off the pill, but it took nearly 2 years to conceive s (on and off) so don't hold yer breath!!

I am up for opening on sat night. MIL is over sat daytime, but, y'know, somethings are more important . At least she is coming over this year.. I doubt she'd mind me buggering onto the computer for a little while. what time?

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 20/12/2007 14:12

Lal - that's just so awful, hope you're ok
Vino - congrats again. Hope you're not getting pregnancy insomnia! ds1 and 2 are a week off 20m apart, it's a really nice age gap I think.
canmummy - a piano for a pound?!
Jodie - how're you today? Did E let you get some sleep last night? Has your friend pulled her head out of her bum pulled herself together yet?
kw3 - pin the nose on the rudolph - thought that was brilliant!!
eandh - still nothing from the postie
bunnyhunny - MN is your right as the mother of his child

I'm off work now until hogmanay, yippee. Just as well, I didn't get home until nearly 8pm last night, so totally missed ds1 and ds2 was only waiting up for his night feed . I am now tucking into an irn bru to keep myself going . Could do with one of those creme eggs though!

Thank you to my secret santa too, my present arrived today. Managed (just) to swipe ot off ds1 before he ripped it open and look forward to opening it myself, but can't make saturday night as dh has his work night out and I have to go (gulp, room full of strangers, horror)

Otherwise, no news. Is flipping freezing here. Was -7 on the way to work and -6 on the way home yesterday. -6 again this morning. Brrr!

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 20/12/2007 14:13

How many emoticons?! (and there's 2 more...!)

Lizzzombie · 20/12/2007 15:11

Xmastime - minus 7 !!! wow, I thought I was freezing my tits off at 2 degrees. You must have icicles!

Vino CONGRATULATIONS! fab news. Personally htink you are bonkers for having another sober xmas and nye though!

Bunny - are you off the pill as you are TTC?

I am sooo knackered. DJ has major teething poo at the moment. No one told me just how rancid it could be. Really really gross. He is now in outfit number 3.

DP's bf had baby last night. He was due on xmas day, but luckily came a bit early, which they are most pleased about. So excited about seeing a teeny tiny baby again though! She was supposed to have him at home. But 1st midwife turned up at her house and the gas and air had leaked, then 2nd one eventually turned up with half a cannister, so she asked to go to hospital! Our local hospital is being downgraded to a midwife led unit, so that coupled with the possibility of MW's not having all the equipment needed for a home birth sort of puts me off having baby number 2!

One more thing...DJ came home from nursery yesterday with a bag of artwork (!) that he had done since he had started there. Sooooo cute. One of the bits was a mini calender with his footprints on it. Anytime I feel guilty about putting him in nursery for nothing more than me having a break to do housework or MN, then I will think well, I'd never bother doing any of that (arty stuff) with him yet.

I'll be here on Saturday night. What time can we open them?

I have a small pile of birthday cards and presents here to open which I have been so good and not touched until tomorrow! Gosh, I have just realised I will be 6 months of half way to retiring tomorrow! Result! Better get my pension sorted! x

XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 20/12/2007 15:16

Hey Liz, how's the job?
Yes, icicles, and slightly melted legs from standing too close to the fire! Never never been so happy we put central heating into this house. The frost has not lifted for 6 days now.

Lizzzombie · 20/12/2007 15:21

Hi!
The job is extrememly useful in terms of discount..have been spending it up in there at the moment. If I had a little girl there would be no stopping me!
One of my mates has underfloor heating in her kitchen. Its lush. I am very jealous of her.
Have you had any snow yet? Or is it "too cold" ?

OP posts:
XmasTimeIndigestionAndWhines · 20/12/2007 15:26

No snow, been clear, which I suppose is why it's sooooooo cold. And it's dimpsy already.
IKWYM about little girl clothes, so gorgeous - though I've a friend with 2 dd's who always says she would love to go boy clothes shopping for a change! Glad this job is better than the last one anyway.
