Right (sleeves rolled up) you do stuff with the NCT right - that is a transferable skil - people management, time management - do you do fundraising or the courses?

do you have any FE/HE qualifications - even if you haven't done anything with them - yet

2008 is going to be the year Dippy gets a job AND a holiday

(getting quite feisty now )

NorthernLurker · 25/11/2007 21:28

dh home - have to go eat, back later

CaptainDippy · 25/11/2007 21:28

Think I'll leave you to be feisty and let DH have the computer now....

Yes, I have a degree in English - that is why this whole thing is so bloody depressing.

Rah!

Thank you for the offer SOL, feel like I am beyond help atm tbh

I'll be back tomorrow and hopefully more

Thanks guys. xx

CaptainDippy · 25/11/2007 21:30

I am antenatal class booking offcier thingy for NCT and postnatal contant and general person everyone in the entire universe moans at.

Or so it feels.

Going now. Really. I am

Pesha · 25/11/2007 21:32

Dippy you have your own house and you have lots of lovely days out with your girls - much more important to them than shed loads of plastic toys that end up broken and chucked under the bed (or they do in my house anyway! ).

And you can get a job, the trouble your having is finding a job that fits in with your family, thats why its difficult, its nothing to do with you being useless or a moron - thats just by the by! [big giant ] so you know I'm only joking to try and cheer you up!!!!!!!

normabutty · 25/11/2007 21:33

Oh Dippy, you are not a moron. You do sooooooo much. You look after 3 children, you help other people so much, you do so much with your time. You have lots of skills.

busywithIzzy · 25/11/2007 21:39

Evening all

Dippy - I agree with SOl and NL you are not unemployable, useless or a moron, you are a very caring person who has a way of making poeple feel at ease and have a knack of saying the rights things in the right way at the right time as I have said before, chin up

Runny - Sorry didn't have time to comment on your thread today, but I did think they were being a bit harsh Hope you're ok.

Forgotten everything else

Busy weekend here. Spent the day at my mums yesterday because DH was out all day. Was really good as my DB was back for the weekend and the shops over the road were having there Christmas fayre, so Jake & Izzy saw Father Christmas, Jake went on the tea cups ride and had a ride on a donkey.

Unfortunately the evening/night was pretty awful though. Jake's ear was bothering him all night so dosed him up with calpol and nurofen, but his eardrum perforated this morning Hasn't done that since he had the grommets in last October. Last time we saw the consultant the right one was on the way out, think it's out now. Have been noticing for a while that his hearing has been bad again, I suspect he may need more grommets or something

Also had Ils on the phone from Spain this eveving, asking/bugging us as to when we are going back to Spain!!!

busywithIzzy · 25/11/2007 21:41

Sorry lots of X posts there!

Hello Norma and Pesha

Pesha · 25/11/2007 21:42

Dippy have you tried jobseekers site?

busywithIzzy · 25/11/2007 21:43

Off to bed now, feeling pretty ill myself a headache and a 'dizzy/swimming' head

Night everyone xx

Pesha · 25/11/2007 21:46

hi ange

bye ange

NorthernLurker · 25/11/2007 21:54

Dippy - thought I had read something from you somewhere about you having a degree. Right - you are me a few years ago. I had dd1 straight out of uni - my degree is in history. Your degree has given you lots of skills - assessing arguments and communicating clearly for a start. These would be useful skills in call centre work - are there any near you? The NCT stuff is great - make lots of the prioritisation and managing of expectations that you do!

Hope to 'see' you tomorrow and that everything is a bit more - I'm so sorry for moaning - feel I bought you down a bit - but you've really given me a kick up the backside so thanks

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2007 22:09

Only skim read, but Dippy I doubt that's true. Will post more when I have brain cells.
BWI sorry J is ill and you are now feeling under the weather

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2007 22:10

NL, when you get the chance, please could you email me on KateFallon44 @ hotmail . com?
No hurry, am going to bed in a sec anyway so probably won't check again till tomorrow.
Good night everyone (and I mean that literally)

NorthernLurker · 25/11/2007 22:25

SPB - have done so

tcmummy · 25/11/2007 22:44

Just popping in quickly to say hello to you all. And to shout at Dippy for being so down on herself! I'm sure the right job is out there for you and it will come along.

All's fine here. Just been sooooo busy with one thing and another not had much time for mn. I have been following the FranLyon threads though and am so pleased she's got out of the country.

T is bonny as ever! His latest trick is smearing puree fish all over his face/in his eyes etc. Makes me gag! If daddy's around I make him do the clean up

Sleep is disrupted as ever. Just never seem to make it to bed before 12 and then T has taken to waking at 4, 5 and 6

Right off to bed. Sweet dreams. xx

NorthernLurker · 25/11/2007 22:49

hi tcmummy - I have a similar problem with my bedtime

Pesha · 25/11/2007 23:04

DD has just been sick The hardest part was trying to get the sheets off the bed as her bed is completely covered in what looks like just soft toys at first but underneath turns out to be clothes, dolls, toys, jewellery, stationary, make up, beads, ds's toys, clothes that ds2 has grown out of and she has dressed all her babies and teddies in, books, cds... Just had to stop the washing machine after hearing banging and had to rescue a lolly, a bratz skirt and Thomas The Tank Engine that had managed to slip in!

Feeling a bit rough myself now though I cant get sick, I have 3 kids, 2 jobs, 1 dog, a mountain of washing and housework, allegedly injured dp, no food in and several boxes of a 1970's Denby Arabesque dinner service stacked up in the back room that my mum wants me to sell on ebay for her!

Thats just the dinner service my mum wants me to sell, not the whole list! Although if i thought there'd actually be any takers for the rest of it I'd stick all that on too!!

NorthernLurker · 25/11/2007 23:11

oh pesha - sick is grim

But have to say rofl at you ebaying everyone and evrything!

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2007 04:42

Not another one
Pesha, hope you're ok

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2007 06:07

Have given up on the idea of going back to bed Time to make myself a coffee

CaptainDippy · 26/11/2007 07:26

Morning - sorry about last night guys and thank you for all your positive responses, my confidence has taken a fair few knocks over the last few years and I am just feeling so uselss ..... keep those positive vibes coming ......

Hope you and DS are feeling better today BWI.

How is poor DD this am, Pesha?? xx Thank you for reminding me that I do own my own house - it has taken a LOT to finally get here, but we are v.blessed with that ... sadly it is the mortgage on this place that is one of the reason we are struggling - can't win, eh!!?

Anyway, little people need feeding etc so best go ......

"See" you later

Good to see you tcmummy, was going to email today to see how / where you were - when is T's Thanksgiving or has it already happened hopey ou got a better night's sleep ...... that extends to all here. xx

NorthernLurker · 26/11/2007 08:18

good morning and good bye for now- just seen time and must get a move on we'll be late for school!

iloveabargain · 26/11/2007 09:07

Morning all

Boys are fed and watered Just need to get dressed, then think we might do some Christmas shopping.

cd I would like to echo what the others have said about the job/money front. Just after we bought our first house, we were absolutley brassic. To the point that a few times I had to throw a sickie because I couldn't actually afford to get to work I know that doesn't help you, but wnated you to know that I've been there, and it DOES get better.
You have plenty of transferable skills, (you've studied for a degree=commitment, NCT co-ordinator=time management, your list is endless) and def agree with the call centre angle.

Have a good day everyone
x
pesha hope dd gets better soon x

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2007 09:24

ilab, who are you?
