weeonion · 26/11/2007 09:44

good morning folks. quick post so i can find this thread later

CaptainDippy · 26/11/2007 10:05

Thank you runny / ILB you guys are lovely.

So what are people's plans today?? I am just doing a few NCT newsletter bits and other admin type stuff this am and then off to a good friends this pm. Taking the girls to tea at outlaws later as I can just about bear the walk to said friends, but not the loooong walk back with fractious baby and 2 whining little people ......

Sexonlegs · 26/11/2007 11:09

Morning all!

CD, glad you are feeling a bit brighter today. I am really happy to help you if I can.

BWI, how is Jake today? And you?

Pesha, how is dd?

Hope everyone else is ok too.

All ok here. Been to nursery for a settling in session this a.m. with K. Just filling in forms etc. and then she will be in on Thursday on her own for 2 hours

Noticed something odd today, and wondered what your thoughts were. I gave K cereal this morning, and rather than use formula as per norm, I used cows milk. Nursery noticed that one of her hands and one of her ears were really red, and her hand was quite puffy. Do you think this could be a sign of cows milk intolerance or do you think it was just a coincidence?

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2007 11:14

Would cows milk intolerance not show up from formula though SOL? Or do you use a soya one?
Although it does seem a big coincidence!
Having a nightmare trying to get the solicitors talking to each other and to the estate agents

Sexonlegs · 26/11/2007 11:16

Hi there, I think there are cows milk derivatives in formula. I know you are not to give them cows milk as a drink unti they are 1.

I might to a bit of research. Can't think what else it could be.

How was your night?

liath · 26/11/2007 11:31

I think the no cow's milk to drink is because of sodium levels in it IIRC.

Just a quickie post, will try & catch up properly later.

Re meet ups, am away 6th - 13th Jan. Will be great if we can sort something out.

I'm thinking of doing the Santa Run in Princes St Gardens 16th December (a chartity thing - you get a santa outfit & elf hat for the littlies) if any of the Scottish mus are interested I'll find the email link.

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2007 11:37

Hope she's ok SOL
Night was ok but not good, thanks for asking

CaptainDippy · 26/11/2007 12:05

{{{{SPB}}}} I know that frustrating lack of communication when you are trying to move house OH so well - It certainly wasn't our choice to move house with 2 toddlers, a Bump and a WHOLE load of stress on Christmas Eve last year ......

REALLY hoping it all goes smoothly for you guys. xxxx

SOL - not sure - might've just been a co-incidence, or possiblity not - could've just been K's body reacting to something new, rather than an intolerent reaction, iyswim!!? Speaking of reacting to something new, I caught my slighty-bigger-than-mini-tinkers feeding cheesey crisps to P at church meal yesterday - She has a really poorly hurty tummy and yukky yuk yuk nappies today So a bit of cow's milk is the least of your worries, SOL - At least B isn't feeding K crap!!

Sexonlegs · 26/11/2007 12:08

Thanks ladies. It was just so odd, that out of the blue her hand became red, puffy and really hot!

She seems fine - as happy as Larry!

Poor P CD. Hope she is feeling better soon.

iloveabargain · 26/11/2007 12:10

yes, its runny

sol not sure what to say about the milk. Luckily nothing like that has happened with us, although there's plenty of time.

spb I can't imagine what moving house must be like.

Well, rang physio this morning, told them my symptoms, and they said that it does sound like SPD but until I get in to see them, its not 100%. So just have to wait for an appt.

Now, I really am going Christmas shopping! Going to a retail park near here, and the Marks&Spencer has a lovely coffee shop (and plus, J loves their gingerbread men!)

iloveabargain · 26/11/2007 12:12

Oh yes, and J has started checking W nappy for us, and keeps telling us he's done a poo (even when he hasn't)

Bless him, he really thinks he's helping!

CaptainDippy · 26/11/2007 12:20

Bless 'em, eh!!? Enjoy your Christmas shopping and I hope the hospital / physio appt comes through for your quickly. xx

Right need to go and feed the troops before setting off on the loooong walk to my friends (well, loooong walk with 2 little people anyway!!)

Ooooh, just had reciept from HR that they recieved my application form for the job .... eeeeek!!

NorthernLurker · 26/11/2007 12:53

praying for the form Dippy - enjoy the walk!

Hi runny/ILAB - hope you do well with the shopping.

oooggs · 26/11/2007 13:17

hi all last night wasn't as bad as expected (can't get worse )

dh came home this morning and it could be an extra week of nights!!!!!

will post personals later

Eddas · 26/11/2007 13:26

helllooooo

Having a day today. DD was up at just before 6 DS had already woken at around 5 for milk. Think his teeth are playing up. Or maybe it's the start of chicken pox. Either way tired mummy= bad day

Found out that dd will be the inn keeper in the preschool nativity Now I have to research just what an inn keeper should look like. I'm thinking similar to a shepard but it must be slightly different? My friend said a white sheet with a tea towel oh the joys of costume making Did I say that I had to make dd a pig/tina from Me Too outfit the other day[rolls eyes]

Right off to investigate whilst I have sort of peace and quiet

NorthernLurker · 26/11/2007 13:28

oh oooggs - will there be any benefit for you as a family from that - extra cash, time off in lieu - or is it just a case of live with it? I had an interesting night - B woke at 12, fed and back to sleep - successfully back in her cot - then at 1.15 little madam was yelling fit to burst - dh woke up first (! v unusual) and got her for me - no way was I going to feed her again so we just cuddled down. Think she stirred a couple of times but it's all a blur - know I fed her at 4 - cos I remember thinking - 'isn't it amazing I can do this in my sleep' so not sure if I was asleep or not Basically I think I've slept my way through an interrupted night - so feel okish this morning.

NorthernLurker · 26/11/2007 13:30

Grrrrrh costumes - dd1 had an AZTEC day recently.

I think an innkeeper should indeed look like a shepherd but with a belt with a big ring of keys on it - make out of cardboard to avoid jingling and 'but that was the only key to the school gym - which loo did you drop it down'

Eddas · 26/11/2007 13:35

thanks NL

Have search inn keeper on here and it seems they are sheperds but with plain clothes not stripey. And they keys is a great idea.

Am a bit miffed though as dd is not a boy ffs Will see what other roles the kids got and see if they are all mixed up. I mean can't imagine any of the boys being angels But I guess there are boy and girl angels I know it shouldn't be a boy/girl thing but just seems a little odd and she's not the inn keeper she's an inn keeper so i assume there's a few

NorthernLurker · 26/11/2007 13:46

Hi Eddas - have had a quick look in the gospels and can't find any reference to the innkeeper being male - so I think dd could be a very swishly dressed innkeeper - possibly with a pink headdress and still be biblically accurate

NorthernLurker · 26/11/2007 13:46

NorthernLurker · 26/11/2007 13:46

ooops

Eddas · 26/11/2007 13:51

may well do that dd is a pink freak!

It's not a traditional navity though. Don't think many are these days so I'd imagine some of the kids are weird things. Guess I should be grateful she's not something too obscure

Off to make some christmas decorations with dd. Providing ds can stop crying for a few seconds

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2007 16:35

aaaaaargh dh has broken the garage door
