Lol liath no, sorry, I think you might be on your own with that one

He only has breakfast (baby cereal or porridge and fruit), lunch (pureed veg if my mum, pasta and something if me) but today I´ve started to introduce stewed fruit as a third ´meal´.

IDOC - I guess I wouldn´t want to try the water in case he really is hungry though..

Oh you know it has to be to do with all of this, more movement, needing more food, being hungry, being physically restless in the night (last night I brought him into bed with me and his little legs were pumping away in his sleep as if he was trying to push off). And I don´t really think there´s anything we can do. Except SCREEEEEEEEEEAM

Maybe I will try a bottle of formula tonight just to see if it does make any difference. Can´t hurt..

Pesha · 27/11/2007 16:48

Hi all

Have a non-sleeping baby here too. last night couldnt stay awake long enough to put him down and everytime i woke up he was feeding. at 5 i got him down and it lasted 20mins. bed is bloody uncomfortable when stuck in unmoving position wth baby in armpit so back has been getting steadily worse and now neck is so bad i have headaches all day going to have to do something

ds1 didnt sleep more than 3 or 4 hours till 8 months. bf in night but would sleep 5 or 6 hours with formula.

dd slept 7-8 hours a night at 5 weeks and slept through from then on. breast fed till 6 ish months.

think the girl boy thing could be right.

sorry for crap post but tired, headache and stressing big time about how exactly im going to manage 2 hours minimum phone calls between 9.30 and 2.45 whilst working from 11.45-1.30 and looking after a baby

thinking the dog may have to go as i cant fit it all in and feel hes getting neglected now hoping my dad may have him so we, kids espcially, can still see him

CaptainDippy · 27/11/2007 17:27

Being quick, have to go and get older 2.

Have one all-nighter here - girl, BF - try the FF Maveta - like you said - Can't hurt - I think IDOC's idea of offering formula or water is great - hopefully N will think it's not worth waking up for. It WILL get better. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Be back later ....

Pesha · 27/11/2007 17:38

Agree it cant hurt to try. DS1 used to quite like his middle of the night bottle of water, kept it up on and off for a couple of years

Pesha · 27/11/2007 17:40

oh and d has started biting today lots

cazboldy · 27/11/2007 17:51

molly sleeps from 8 pm until 7am normally.......

NorthernLurker · 27/11/2007 18:24

Looks like a busy afternoon here - right (rolls up sleeves again):
Due in April 08 - I know it's so weird isn't it - before we know it we'll be looking at due in 2009 threads! Eeeek!

IDOC - househunting is so painful isn't it - why is it that the perfect house is always about 20 grand out of your reach (ooop north that is - 155 grand for you southerners)

phd - weird about the nappy - B had an absolute horror situation too. Did you feed your little one mushrooms last night as well by any chance?

bwi - I was of izzy's sleeping - but as she's had the grace to wake you at 3 a bit - I'll let you off

Liath - No my baby does not smell of compost - sorry

CD - hmmm another b/fed all nighter eh - can P and Izzy give B tips?

Pesha - sorry you're so stressed - hope things get easier later in the week

  • re the biting - B likes to bite my shoulder too.

Cazboldy - can I add Molly to B's seminar on sleeping please? She's not bad - but she's not great either - invariably wakes between 11.30 and 12.30, feeds and mostly settles again in her own cot - but then wakes again at 4am plus on a good night and at 1am plus (grrh) on a bad night. I try to settle her without feeding on the second waking - but that's mostly by having her in with me and although we sleep - it' not very soundly

Hello to everyone else

CaptainDippy · 27/11/2007 19:07

Let the seminar commence

Is Molly BF or FF, Caz?

P is taking a while to settle tonight Been doing tiny little pebble poos all day - she is moaning now. Will leave her. Other 2 well out of it!!!!!

Pesha · 27/11/2007 19:23

D is rolling on the floor trying to unplug the laptop - do you think he's trying to tell me something

By biting I meant biting my nipples I hope this isn't the beginning of the end for our bfing, feels like more and more obstacles to our carrying on keep cropping up. Dont want to stop. Life has suddenly got very difficult at the moment. Not happy

oooggs · 27/11/2007 19:31

Right - both crap at night, both ff, boy & girl........... theories

last night was terrible, ds1 coughing at me all night in my bed so very little sleep again, but they are all asleep now and dh has just left.

weeonion - glad you had a good trip

eddas - lol at dd & backpack

caz - sorry you are all ill, I only have 3 sick dc's and I am well (just tired) and I am finding it hard

maveta - no suggestions on N's sleeping - like I could advise on sleeping!!

pesha - ouch to your nips

hi everyone else - need to get on with bottles

NorthernLurker · 27/11/2007 19:40

oh right pesha - nipples not good!

CD hope P settles soon.

Oooggs - do hope you get a better night tonight.

Forgot to say yesterday - my baking turned out fine. Yeah - have broken duck - dh's birthday cake was lovely!

We had an interestinng night out yesterday - marriage seminar that church had tickets for. I thought it might be a bit grim/scary but it was actually really good. Dh and I came away feeling reassured not terrified so that's good One of the people running out was bit smug though

NorthernLurker · 27/11/2007 19:41

runnning it running it NOT running out

crumbs what a typo - nobody made for the door honest!

StealthPolarBear · 27/11/2007 19:55

had something to say but can't remember it
boy/girl thing sounds interesting, oooggs, erin is obv just followong jack's lead
t slept for about 3 hours this afternoon, we're hoping this is a good sign and that he's recovered from his cold
maveta, let me know how you get on with the bottle tonight, if it goes well i need all the details and for you to tune n's psychic link thing in so i can do the same!

oooggs · 27/11/2007 19:57

She is better than him in general though Katy so maybe it is a boy thing and they are just naughty (but smile loads)

Sexonlegs · 27/11/2007 20:05

My God, can we have a new thread please????

Have been reading and now forgotten!!

I am going to get shot, but K is ff and sleeps from 7.00 p.m. to 7.30 a.m. I am just incredibly lucky.

I really hope whatever you try works and you get loads of sleep.

IDOC, you all better now?

Welcome back WO!

Oooggs, hope you are ok.

Pesha, what's up flower? You sound really down.

oooggs · 27/11/2007 20:11

hi sol - feel great now just finishing a glass of rose (pink wine) and everything is fantastic good stuff I recommend it to everyone!!!!!!!

Nearly finished the bottles - was sidetracked by Jack

leakyR · 27/11/2007 20:17

Any ideas for a thread title?

8 months in and they still won't sleep

or

wide awake babies, muddled mummies and willy-shaped pressies

What do you think?

Will we get into trouble with Pillock?

StealthPolarBear · 27/11/2007 20:23

SOL
We have acquired the ultimate in baby toy, you all must get one. A great big bit of rolled up carpet, T absolutely loves it! Pity in the ne house it'll need to turn back into a rug.
Well, I don't know at what point DH is going to pack the laptop, so if I disappear I will return probably over the weekend.

oooggs · 27/11/2007 20:29

katy it seems to be going so fast (the move that is)

Idreamofchocolate · 27/11/2007 20:43

Rubbish at thread titles, but liking the willy shaped present idea

SOL - yes, all ok here now, touch wood, although S is still off her food slightly. She's happy to eat any form of pudding, or anything she can feed to herself, but is refusing any spoon-fed savouries, including meals she usually likes. Right pita as I have a freezer full of meals for her, and she makes such a bloomin' mess when she feeds herself. She loves cucumber sticks (trying to be healthy), but would far rather eat bread and cake. She is a right little porker, but very happy indeed, she's a lovely little (porky) soul.

Oh and she sleeps from 7pm to 7.30am or thereabouts (woken for a dream-feed at 10pm). She is totally ff now.

Looking like the girls are winning in the sleeping stakes.

Hope I haven't jinxed all the girls now.

leakyR · 27/11/2007 20:53

new thread here

Hope I've done it right

phdlifeneedsanewlife · 27/11/2007 21:27

NorthernLurker - no mushrooms. And it wasn't, um, the contents that were the issue.

FWIW, GCSE is a ds, bf. But I suspect from some of your other comments I've got nowt to complain about - past 2 nights, around 4:30 he's started calling out in his sleep, sucking his fingers, crying - even with nurofen. It's all teething - he's making a ton of noise but not "waking" IYSWIM.

right, back behind the lurker's bush...
