Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

Well the Inlaws (Outlaws ) have gone and it has been a fantastic Christmas though ds was getting rather over stimulated at times. Grandad didn't quite get the need for him to just chill out at times

Ds slept 13 hours a night, much food has been consumed and right now ds is patting the tv screen, I am on MN and we are the only ones in the house. Bliss. though I don't think ds will last long as Alice in Wonderland has just finished and the poor boy is all out of sorts today and can't decide if he wants to sleep, play, be entertained, cuddle, eat......

Glad all the Christmases have been happy so far.

Hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas .
We did ds's bday pressies in bed in the morning which he really enjoyed, then the cousins, grandparents and aunty and uncle came round for lunch - with the table set up in our hallway as the only place big enough for 11! It was great. Then Christmas pressies, but it was all too much for ds so we did more Christmas pressies today, and I had felt a bit of a mean mummy for not getting him anything for bday OR christmas but don't feel so bad now as he had too many things to open anyway!
Having a 6, 4, 2, 1 and 6 month old in a house together is just great for Christmas Day!
Happy New Year everyone (Peak District for us if we can find some accomodation!)

I've had someone wanting to join December 2006 babies on FB - is it anyone from here?

I'm ignoring it otherwise.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 26/12/2007 21:35

I've been ignoring it too Margo

AwayinaMargoNooNooCribForABed · 26/12/2007 21:42

Hi FGS, is it all quiet in your house now?

My dds were in bed by 6.30 x 10000

FrostyGlassSlipper · 27/12/2007 07:44

Lol. DD asked to go to bed at 5pm on Christmas Day

We were out all day yesterday and so drove back at 8 and then went to sleep in the car. Both are unsettled at the moment though. DD2 was sick from coughing just as we pulled into the drive so we changed her and put her to bed but DD1 woke 2x with nightmares. I think it is overexcitement...

Gloria42 · 27/12/2007 10:26

Hello one and all, a belated Merry Christmas from me! it's been manic here between bugs (me unfortunately), builders and christmas. But fab as well. DS had a great 1st Christmas, ate massive Turkey dinner - everything he could lay his hands on from his plate and anyone elses!

Full steam ahead to Saturday and his birthday. Hard to believe that this time last year he wasn't even here! seems like he's been around forever

Indith · 27/12/2007 12:14

Hum I sent the usual 'please confirm MN name' message to the FB request and she has replied confirming her real name.......if it is one of us please hit me and point out who you are!

Had to go get a new carseat for ds today, he was right at the limit of his rear facing one. He does look all funny and high up in his big throne!

Indith · 28/12/2007 07:24

Horrible night in the Indith household. Just the thing to start off our next wave of family pleasing

All full of colds and stroppiness here

magnolia74 · 28/12/2007 13:33

Hello girls

Christmas went ok, ds1 full of cold but medised and cuddles kept him happy most of the time, dh is poorly and with a broken elbow and wrist he is not the merriest of people to be around but thats another story

I still have presents in bags from in laws and tons of clothes to put away but overall its been lovely

I promise to catch up properly soon xxx

SantaF · 28/12/2007 14:53

I've requested to join the FB group today but I'm sure you will know it is me as I am so unoriginal with my Mumsnet name! New to Facebooking so be gentle with me

FunkyGlassSlipper · 28/12/2007 15:53

Just approved you Sacha

babypowder · 28/12/2007 19:54

Stroppiness in the BP household as well. I'm utterly exhausted now that its all over. I feel like I've been doing nothing but cooking and picking up after people for days! Did the full Christmas thing again yesterday with the DSC's (they went home today) and then we had friends round for lunch, and now I just want to sleeeeep!

DD2 has conjunctivitis. When I saw the nurse Practioner yesterday I advised her that I had been bathing DD2's eyes alternately with breastmilk, cool boiled water and cold camomile tea. She looked at me as though I was barking and quickly wrote out a prescription for antibiotic drops. I shudder to imagine what my medical notes say

babypowder · 28/12/2007 19:55

Magnolia, it's all been happening in your house, hasn't it. Glad to hear you had a nice Christmas.

jabberwocky · 28/12/2007 20:13

Magnolia, sorry to hear about the broken bones. A similar Christmas here The boys are finally recuperating from the RSV but dh and I have it now and it is really playing havoc with my asthma. Can't remember feeling this bad in quite a long time.

Welcome aboard SAcha! Now I have to actually log on and catch up

Elibean · 29/12/2007 19:38

Finally, we have internet lift off!

Strange how much I missed having the internet first few days, then sort of got used to it - not sure what that proves, but I was convinced I couldn't survive without it for a day or so

Margo/Indith, before I forget - one of the last things I did before the final vestiges of the old provider vanished was try to accept Castles' invitation to join the FB babies birthday group - could the mystery one be me?? I tried to upload a photo too, but at that point the whole thing crashed, dh yelled at me to go to bed or do the midnight feed, and I just gave up. Sorry if it is me and I've been confusing

Jabber, so sorry to hear you've all got/had RSV - its the pits, we thought we were getting it again a couple of weeks ago but if it was, it wasn't as bad as last year and dd2 held her own with plenty of medised and steam. Really hope you both feel better soon.

Its been a good Xmas here, a whole heap better than last year and generally peaceful - though omg its tiring

Look forward to catching up a bit more in the New Year if not before, hope everyone else is well xxx

Elibean · 29/12/2007 19:39

Ouch, Magnolia Hope he's mended soon.

MargoWishesYouAHappyNooNooYear · 29/12/2007 22:25

Yes Magnolia - your poor DH, hope he heals soon.

jabberwocky · 29/12/2007 23:51

Welcome back eli! You have been missed. I have thought about you many times in the last week and can only imagine how frightening it would have been to deal with this when ds2 was still so tiny It's been scary enough as it is. They say in adults it's only "mild cold symptoms". Hell, I haven't felt this bad in years, maybe ever. Just rallied a bit in the last hour or two but I'm far from being well.

Elibean · 30/12/2007 19:23

Jabber, dh said the same last year - he had to use/steal dd1's inhaler because he felt as though he couldn't breathe, especially at night. I felt rough too, but tbh I was so traumatized and running on adrenaline that I didn't notice as much as dh (who was the one at home) did. I'm so glad your ds2 is ok - well, all of you obviously, but YKWIM. Hope you're better for New Year!

Elibean · 30/12/2007 19:23

And thanks, btw

FunkyGlassSlipper · 30/12/2007 19:33

Magnolia - Hope DH feels better soon. I broke my wrist a few years ago and it is very painful and debilatating

BP and Jabber - I hope the illnesses clear up soon.

DD2 is not well with a streaming cold. She has got 7 teeth since halloween too which explains much illness. I am full of cold too and it is in my sinuses which is awful

Nice to see you back Eli.

I chose to have a night off MN the other day and read one of my Christmas Books very nice

accessorizemybaublessanta · 30/12/2007 21:01

Hello all, Eli & Magnolia nice to see you back Mag hope dh & ds get better soon! Jabber, you really sound down with it all and I hope you and the boys get over it soon [hugs]

FGS - ugggghh sinuses (Indith with me here I bet!) are horrible, mine have been better since I realised the central heating was making them worse so I've been turning it off and forcing us all in more jumpers. dp always wanders round in a t-shirt saying I'll just turn up the heating!

We're lucky enough to all be well in this household and the boys have been very good, I've enjoyed spending extra time with them and dp & I also had a whole 24 hours without them both last week. First night away from ds2, and I'm glad I waited because it felt fine!
