Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

Is there such a thing as festive anger?! I think yes - well, at least, festive frustration, so

We're still waiting on the new internet provider, so have used dh's v v slow mobile phone thingy to post, just to wish you all a very happy Christmas! And a very happy birthday to all the birthday-ing LOs

Today is dd1's 4th birthday, and the anniversary of dd2's hospital admission and scary episode (strangely, at almost exact time of dd1's birth - cue spooky noises) and after a frantically busy week preparing, all is calm in the Elibean household. Well, unless you count overly excited small people and night coughs etc, which I don't.

Miss this group, and look forward to rejoining cyberworld - can't honestly bear to try keeping up with uberslow connection, so will wait till post Xmas when BT promise to review the problem (?!?) and sort it

See you on the other side of Xmas! xxx

babypowder · 22/12/2007 20:35

Sacha, I just reread my last post about your LOs birthday and I'm so and with myself. I honestly didn't mean to be flippant - I truly don't know how people deal with Christmas and birthday on the same day. I know my mum and sister share a birthday, as do DH and SD1, which is hard enough. I do like the ideas that are coming through, though, especially the 'shutting the door on Christmas'! (tempting, even with a birthday 5 days before Christmas )

We had originally thought that we would avoid putting up any Christmas decs until after DD2s birthday, but that was really tough on DD1. So now we've decided to wait until DD2 can voice an opinion before we decide on any traditions.

Speaking of which, DD2 has now ceased vomiting. She's still off her food, but so much happier than she was yesterday and on her birthday. Thank heavens she won't remember that her first birthday was a complete disaster!

babypowder · 23/12/2007 14:03

I've either completely killed the thread or you are all off doing Christms things. Have a very happy Christmas, ladies

Indith · 23/12/2007 18:31

Oh wow there is nobody in my houes right now except for Dp and Ds! Utterly amazing!

Have cleaned upstairs, made the bed for the next lot of guests and am having a sit down. Ds will go up with daddy for his bath in a minute and I shall attempt to stir myself to start on downstairs.

Went to a Christmas dinner at a friend's house on Saturday after dropping guest lot 1 off at the station, leaving guest lot 2 at home (but what do they expect after inviting themselves when we already had plans?). was ace but the best part was ds, sitting next to me in his highchair going 'oh yes please I shall eat that, and that, oh and yes that too. That was scrummy I shall have more of that......' SO after consuming breakfast, huge elevenses and lunch he sat and ate a huge Christmas dinner in the afternoon! His tummy was so huge afterwards

He is a bit out of sorts though. I'm hoping it is a bit of a bug from my friend's dd as she spent her last night here screaming. Ds woke up once that night and last night had 2 bouts of all out screaming. Today he is on a calpol diet (but still eating well ) and a little grumpy fusspot. I suppose I can forgive him after so long of being an absolute angel and all the sleeping 12/13 hours a night he has been doing!

Have a great Christmas everybody!

I feel a bit scroogey saying this, but am almost wishing it was over We have had family Christmas last weekend, Solstice dinner and gifts this weekend and then Santa, of course. Dh announced last night that he also wants to open gifts on Christmas Day and I had only gotten him one thing (albeit a nice gift, I thought) and he opened it for Solstice already!!! So now I thought I was completely done with shopping and I have to run out and get a couple of things for dh as he has added some surprise things for me under the tree and I can feel the stress building. Not to mention that both boys are sick and we got news a few days ago that my little niece who was here last weekend has just been diagnosed with RSV

Okay, rant over

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays everyone

spina · 23/12/2007 18:56

happy christmas all! who knows if I'll get back on here again, broadband and family Spin-wise!!!

If I do I'll converse and respond to thread rather than my random jumping in and out!!!

magnolia74 · 23/12/2007 19:07

Sorry girls, I haven't been around Life is not too good at the moment and I am not posting much anywhere to be honest.
Just wanted to come and say
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hopefully When things improve I can come and catch up xxx

jabberwocky · 23/12/2007 19:39

Good to see you spina and magnolia. Hope next year brings good tidings for you.

Indith - 12-13 hours of sleep?!

FrostyGlassSlipper · 24/12/2007 09:10

Hi magnolia and spina . Nice to see you. Hope the New Year brings more calm.

Hate to say it Jabber but I'm getting 12 hours of sleep from DD2 most nights these days

babypowder · 24/12/2007 12:54

FGS and Indith, how, exactly, have you convinced your LOs to sleep so long?

TheOlihantheIvy · 24/12/2007 13:03

Must be something in the air FGS & Indith. DS2 is also going at least 13 hours a night at the moment. Mind you, I think I deserve it .

Have a great christmas, everyone!

Indith · 24/12/2007 14:11

You def deserve it Oli!

As for how, he has always slept until at least 7, often 8 before getting up for the day and it seems that ceasing to wake at night hasn't meant getting up at 6! Apart from the stint of CC to sort him out after the move/teeth/everal bugs on the trot meant he was waking a million times a night he has dropped everything himself.

Mind you he has now woken for 3 nights on the trot

Good to see Margo and Spina and hope to see more of you soon.

Oh yes, and it is Christmas eve! Even though I know full well that one of the bags that I have brought down from the loft and put in the cupboard in the living room is my stocking fillers I am still excited

OP posts:
TheOlihantheIvy · 24/12/2007 15:36

I'm getting really excited now. As is DS1. Its a good job it's Christmas Day tomorrow as I fear ds1 could be on his way to the nearest naughty boys home by the morning .

Excited doesn't come close to describing him. In fact, I don't think there is an adjective that could!

Off to the crib service in the village church in an hour or so, then Carols round the village Christmas tree, then BED. Phew!

Does anyone want to have a sweepstake on what time we'll all be up tomorrow? I'm going for 4:45am.

So at those of you with only one dc. Christmas and a lie in (ish).

FrostyGlassSlipper · 24/12/2007 15:48

Lol Olihan.

DD1 (3.9) is getting a bit excited although I think DH and I are even more so

I think we'll be up at about 6 tomorrow. DH thinks it will be more like 5

FrostyGlassSlipper · 24/12/2007 15:49

DD2 seems to be trying for one nap a day at the moment. She's in the phase where she cant decide between one and two which makes for some grumpy afternoons. She's also full of cold

accessorizemybaublessanta · 24/12/2007 19:27

Dear all, merry christmas! Hope all the babies are happy, well and sleeping !

SantasUnderGodzillasBumcheek · 24/12/2007 19:55

HAPPYCHRISTMAS* for tomorrow!

Ooohhhh! Stockings (dances about merrily...and rather badly) will be hung up tonight (after the ever-annoying sleepy feed).

DD1 and 2 are begging me to tell them what will be in their sister's stocking rather than their own!

jabberwocky · 24/12/2007 20:36

We have spent the morning and part of the afternoon at doctor's, pharmacy and medical supply getting ds2 diagnosed with RSV and an ear infection (exactly like niece who was here last weekend ) so two meds and a breathing machine for him and antihistamines and cough syrup for ds2. I think I've had about 8 hours sleep total for the last 3 nights between the 2 of them. Here's hoping I don't fall asleep before getting Santa presents out - not sure if they would even notice anyway, the way they feel

Maybe after this round of sickness I can convince ds2 he really should be sleeping all night

babypowder · 24/12/2007 23:26

I've finally worked out what it is about March. It's the first time we have any energy after the Christmas madness!

SOOOOOOOOOO excited about tomorrow, though.

Have a lovely time, everyone

FrostyGlassSlipper · 25/12/2007 11:54

Morning all. Merry Christmas. Dd2 sleeping as not well with cough. DD1 VERY excited.

Have a good day everyone!

Jabbe - hope you all feel a bit better today x

accessorizemybaublessanta · 25/12/2007 19:59

Hope everyone had a really lovely day, ours was after all my anxiety. I started it off by going running at 7.30 (in laws here so didn't feel guilty!) which was great, no-one on the roads. I still think I need to run every day for a fortnight to wipe out the calories I have consumed! Now, where's that baileys got to?!

AwayinaMargoNooNooCribForABed · 25/12/2007 23:52

Happy Christmas one and all!

It's been a really good Christmas. No colds, anti-bs worked. DDs well behaved, although I've just put dd1 to bed for the second time tonight .

FrostyGlassSlipper · 26/12/2007 08:44

I had both DDs in bed with me last night. Why did I gloat about 12 hours sleep the other day

babypowder · 26/12/2007 10:47

I had both of mine in bed with us as well, FGS. I think they were both overexcited! Typically, DD2 spent all day playing with DD1's new keyboard, and DD1 spent the day on DD2's new rocker.

Poor old DD2 now has conjunctivitis to add to the ongoing tummy trouble and the cold.

All of the DSCs are coming tomorrow, so off to prepare the house, and the food, for another Christmas!
