Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

Well, we carried on regardless. We lit the candle, sang the song, and everyone else had cake. Bless. I've kept a bit back for DD2 for tomorrow.

DD1 throughly enjoyed opening all the presents and playing with the new toys

babypowder · 20/12/2007 20:49

AQ, love the name change! (Why can't I think of you as anything other than AQ? I am clearly incapable of dealing with change)

TheOlihantheIvy · 20/12/2007 21:11

Me too, BP. AQ will forever be AQ in my eyes, no matter what the ending is! (Sorry AQ - great festive change though )

Happy Birthday Baby BP. Hope your tummy is better tomorrow so you can have your cake.

Well, apart from 2 presents (for DH) which are currently in the post my Christmas and both ds's birthdays are wrapped, written and sorted. I've had a few sleepless nights trying to get everything organised but fingers crossed, it's done. When next March arrives, remind me to move into the sparre room. I can't take any more Christmas birthdays!

DS2 seems to be improving on the sleep front - frantically patting the kitchen cupboards as I type - he went right through last night (that's 7 nights out of 357, not bad, eh ?) so here's hoping for a record 2 nights in a row.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 20/12/2007 21:20

Happy Birthday Baby BP

AwayinaMargoNooNooCribForABed · 20/12/2007 21:23

Happy birthday baby bp!
Hope you're better in the morning and make sure you're better for Christmas.

accessorizemybaublessanta · 20/12/2007 21:47

[lol] at bp's dd1, ds1 did exactly the same thing! still is, actually, ds2 content with the pirate balloons. Hope the d&v clears up in the morning, I don't suppose cake will help much if it hasn't. The only thing that cheered ds2 up on his birthday!
Drat, I've lost my profile and all my photos after that name change (will change back to AQ after christmas as no-one has stopped calling me it!). I do really feel the need for some accessories, actually! I got given a bag for my birthday (always risky with me) by dp's mum and it's ghastly, such a pity. I hate all things camel and beige. I'm actually giving serious thought to setting up a business selling changing bags online. Dp says I have to prepare some research first so that shouldn't be hard!
I've just remembered dp, only bought him one small thing and I think he has bought me large surprise as usual, I'm so useless but then I do buy and wrap every other gift all year inc xmas and boys' birthdays!

jabberwocky · 21/12/2007 01:32

Yep, ds1 is enthralled by any and all toys that are ds2's I have to keep reminding him that he does have his own toys to play with.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 21/12/2007 08:24

DD1 loves some of DD2s toys too althought mostly DD2 wants to play with the older toys. We have playmobil in the bath which they both play with which is nice.

AQ - I love bags. And hats - although I rarely wear them these days. And shooooooeees - although I only seem to wear scuffed/practical ones these days. Hmm

FrostyGlassSlipper · 21/12/2007 08:25

Btw, not meaning to make anyone sad with news of my friend's son but I dont feel I can post about it anywhere else....

TheOlihantheIvy · 21/12/2007 09:40

I would just like to announce that ds2 got up this morning at 9 am . Bed at 6pm, woke at 10pm bunged up, resettled at 11 and that was it until 9. I sent ds1 and dd down to watch telly and had a lie in .

FGS, stories like your friend's just make me more grateful for what I've got and also make me feel incredibly lucky that it's not me in that terrible situation. Keep venting here, it will help, I'm sure.

AQ, you have to go into the profile bit at the top of the page (My Mumsnet?) and there's an option to MOVE MY PROFILE or something.

SantaF · 21/12/2007 11:35

Oli, Wow! Glad someone is having a lie in!!
All our furniture and boxes arrived out of storage on Wednesday, we are going away for weekend and then have 11 people here for Christmas lunch! Still haven't unpacked the cutlery tray (as in can't find it) so I'm sure it will all come together!

Even though it was agreed that ds would have a summer birthday, I still have gifts and cards I have received for his b-day. We have opened Christmas cards together but I am holding off on birthday cards until the day (Christmas Day). But it's going to seem really strange opening birthday presents on Christmas Day, it's not really fair to wait until the following day (not fair on me! I want to see what people have given him! - any suggestions?

accessorizemybaublessanta · 21/12/2007 11:38

FGS, we want to know what's happening with your friend's ds, we really do
I am wearing very shoddy crocs today and a sparkly black headband to take the boys to work christmas do. Hmmm, don't think I deserve title of accessorizequeen. Do have a lot of v.lovely bags which never get used but hideous changing bag which does.

lucy5 · 21/12/2007 11:43

Hola all1 My wonderful Spanish internet has been on the blink again1 Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Christmas before it crashes again!

castlesintheair · 21/12/2007 15:09

Nice one Oli

Merry Christmas everyone. The term is finally over and now I can start getting ready for Christmas

babypowder · 21/12/2007 17:53

I know that there were loads of pukey babies a few weeks ago - can I ask some advice? DD2 was vomiting yesterday, up until about 11:30. She had a couple of feeds during the night, and kept them down, but she had a fever. DH looked after her this morning, and she had most of a slice of bread, and kept that down. I've given her a couple of big feeds since I got home at noon, and she's just vomited it all up again. She's very bright and happy. Is it the BM?

(Sorry to hijack with silly health question - I do know there's an entire topic devoted to this )

babypowder · 21/12/2007 17:53

FGS, yoyu just keep on posting. We're all rooting for your friend and her LO.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 21/12/2007 18:37

BP - it wont be the BM. Stomach bugs can really upset their tummies and it can take a week or two for things to settle down. This sickness bug is awful and I have heard of an adult who was sick one day, fine the next, and then sick again. Keep with the breast milk and then offer something like rice cakes when she's not vomited for 4 hours. They are bland but filling

FrostyGlassSlipper · 21/12/2007 19:54

Just went to post a long update and decided better of it. Might go to the facebook page instead...

babypowder · 21/12/2007 22:14

Thanks for the reassurance FGS. DD2 sleeping peacefully now. Her cheeks are bright red, but she's asleep. DD1 is also asleep. She woke me up at 3am today, asking whether I'd ever had a lump of coal in my stocking. Bless her. She's obviously wound up about Christmas. If only she knew how much Santa had absent-mindedly stored away for her throughout the year ...

babypowder · 21/12/2007 22:16

SantaF, short of opening the presents now (which I would really want to do ), I have absolutely no idea how you would deal with this.

Mind you, Jesus didn't get his birthday presents until 12th night!

babypowder · 21/12/2007 22:29

Eli, if you're managing to log on at all, how's your dad?

TheOlihantheIvy · 21/12/2007 23:09

Sasha, my friend's dd is a Christmas Day baby and they are opening stockings first thing, then doing her birthday presents, etc after breakfast so she has a bit of 'birthday' time, once she's done that then they'll move onto Christmas stuff. Seems like a good compromise, especially if he's having a party, etc in the summer.

DH has just gone to Tesco as I've realised that although I've organised Christmas and birthday presents, and both boys' parties, I've neglected to get in enough food to last until after Christmas - oops . He's getting the lie in tomorrow morning as compensation!

Hi Lucy! Happy christmas to all of you if you manage to log back on before then! Happy New Year, if not .

AwayinaMargoNooNooCribForABed · 21/12/2007 23:47

Happy Christmas to one and all.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 22/12/2007 08:09

My DH went to the supermarket last night too as I hadnt food for the week OR christmas day!

Sacha. I would say birthday presents in the morning and then christmas presents in the afternoon.

I'm bound to be around between now and Christmas but Merry Christmas to everyone in case you dont come back till next week

Indith · 22/12/2007 19:09

Friend has left, just one baby in the house but now have dp's db and his dp!

Sacha someone was telling me the other day that a friend of theirs had her birthday at Christmas and they used to shut the door on the Christmas tree the night before and the morning of Christmas day was birthday time, the only presents opened were her birthday ones then, after lunch, they opened the dining room door again (where the tree was) and did the Christmas presents.
