Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

Aww, loving the photos jabber, well done on the cake! Just realised ds1's birthday is a week away and I haven't done anything about cake! arrgggh. I'm being very low key about ds2 aside from the grotto visit!
FGS, gosh! You're in the wars [hugs] Hope gp helps you sort it out
Indith ds2 similar, he can't seem his knees at all. It's probably because they're so fat lol.

babypowder · 04/12/2007 22:25

Lol, Indith - your DS is clearly teaching my DD how to get on in the world!

Her rash is improving now, but she still feels all bumpy on her legs and feet. She went off her food yesterday, which worried me, but she was chowing down again today, so it must just have been a blip.

Gosh, is she really nearly 1? I must get my skates on and think about celebrating her birthday. When DD1 turned 1 I had to make an egg-free, dairy-free cake (which was truly vile), so I am very much looking forward to making DD2's! I am struggling with my food fascism, but I suppose that the girl deserves a cake (And she gets yummy things like sponge and custard and trifle at nursery, and it doesn't appear to be doing her much harm [nervous smile])

Off to try to relax my shoulders after watching Spooks before I try to sleep!

babypowder · 04/12/2007 22:26

Jabber, please upload some photos onto your profile for the Luddites amongst us!

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 05/12/2007 18:13

I'm waiting for a bit of Turkey cake to be shipped over. Jabber have you any advice with this please?

babypowder · 06/12/2007 07:56

Margo, where in Canada are you sending things? (I've put a link to my favorite chocolate shop on your other thread. I bring back their chocolate drops everytime I go over!) You might be able to find local shops that deliver.

accessorizewithbabysick · 06/12/2007 12:45

Where is everyone? Disappeared off buying pressies? Scoffing mince pies?
DS2's birthday today, will post a photo on Facebook tonight.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 06/12/2007 12:47

I'm here. Busy few days. Have DDs friend over later so trying to hide everything breakable

Been out and bought a birthday ballon and birthday cake for DD2 on Sunday.

Happy Birthday Baby AQ. Cant wait to see piccies

accessorizewithbabysick · 06/12/2007 12:55

Hi FGS! Balloon, that's what I should get him! A helium one. I got one for ds1 I think. We're going out for tea (place with nice cake) after Santa's grotto. But he's so darned grumpy anyway (teething, cold, ear hurts tho not ear infection).
Big with you. I started off so enthusiastically but now I'm kind of hating Christmas/birthday season. DP pressuring for all pressies to be bought NOW and house in pristine condition for Christmas day. Or it's me. I don't know. too full of snot (sorry)

FrostyGlassSlipper · 06/12/2007 13:08

I know exactly how you feel AQ. Yes, helium ballon. DD2 keeps eyeing it up and giggling. We always get one for DD1 so I felt we should carry on. Plus they last ages and kids all love ballons, dont they

DD2 is getting her sisters old Little people set for her birthday. DD1's idea but I thought a scrummy choc cake and nice ballon were the least I could do

Indith · 06/12/2007 15:03

I'm here just buried under end of term deadlines and the like. Roll on Monday. After Monday all uni stuff shall be done for the term.

Also snotty, me rather than ds, not been able to taste anything for days! And I bought some smoked fish for a pie. Dp tells me it was yummy.

Headache being slowly killed by painkillers, shall return to my presentation. If I can kill it before going to pick up ds I stand a cat in Hells chance of getting the rest done by Monday!

Didn't manage to get a balloon , rats. He is poorly and incredibly grumpy, so whole birthday thing fell flat really, never made it to Santa! Oh, well, we can do it at the weekend. DS1 opened ALL of his presents and then wouldn't let ds2 play with them! Honestly.

I am in all honesty really glad I can't taste smoked fish pie, Indith, no offense! Tho somehow fish and chips for dinner went down ok (I never count that as fish, for some reason). DS2 scoffed the lot and then half my fish plus lashings of mushy peas, bless. Cake got a smile out of him, but on the laptop and dp won't get off the desktop so I can upload photos.

Hope you can taste fish soon, Indith

FrostyGlassSlipper · 07/12/2007 08:30

I hate all fish too except for fishfingers and fish from the chip shop

DD1 has an ear infection I think. Dd2 is full of snot. Now worried about trip to ILs tomorrow

babypowder · 07/12/2007 10:31

Happy belated birthday, Baby AQ!

That's such a great idea, getting a helium balloon for birthday! I'm going to nick that one for DD2. And maybe the fish and chips idea, too - DD1 will love me forever if I let her have fish and chips on a school night.

My house is like a bombsite. I did shine my sink yesterday (for the first time in ages), and that only highlights what a mess the rest of it is. What I need is a couple of days off work with no children or DH around so that I can nail it once and for all. It's never going to be tidy enough for the tree.

Which poses another dilemma. We always have a HUGE natural tree, all baubled and tinseled (takes up the whole livingroom, and we end up squashed into a corner ). DD1 was only 5mo the first Christmas, and 17 mo the next, so was quite containable around the tree. Not so sure about DD2, especially given her demolition man tendencies. Any thoughts?

FrostyGlassSlipper · 07/12/2007 10:45

Jabber - I just found your name all over a old thread about highly sensitive children. I read the checklist and had a lightbulb moment about DD1. What can you tell me about it? Facebook me if you dont want to talk on this thread...

accessorizewithbabysick · 07/12/2007 10:54

We normally have a large fake tree but this year I'm going for 2 small fake trees out of reach. Too much stress otherwise.

Indith · 07/12/2007 11:00

I've always had a real tree. Last year we could only get a little one in the flat so I want a big one this year! Am going to put soft and wooden baubles at the bottom and keep the nice ones for the top and hope

If you are worried though BP the little potted ones look very pretty on a table with the presents all around.

Ds is being a dustbin again

Yesterday he came home from creche, made a bee line for the coffee table and stole one of his biscuits, ate a full pot of cottage pie, a yoghurt, stole another biscuit so I offered him a banana and he polished off the lot! Today I left him in the living room to put his dinner on and found him tucking into a satsuma...skin and all like you would eat an apple! He has, once again, eaten everything in sight.

He has been a little unsettled in the evenings lately though, keeps waking up. Yesterday he woke up and didn't want to go back to sleep so ended up getting up for an hour or so til he crashed out. Then he woke during the night, just wanting a cuddle back to sleep. Not sure if he hadn't eaten too much and had a tummy ache...not sure what to do really. It is either that or we are at a stage where he needs to be going to bed later. He is still stuffing his face with satsuma and biscuits now. Must start making portions bigger! Am going to have to buy bigger storage tubs!

Thanks for the link BP.

Happy 1st b'day baby AQ - You share your birthday with my pesky brother!

I'm wondering about the practicality of a tree in our lounge too.

We have a party on Wednesday for dd2, we were off to Lubellas/LaBohemes dds' party tomorrow but she is ill. Get well vibes for Baby LaBoheme!

I've put a couple of photos on facebook of baby aq on his birthday.

AwayinaMargoNooNooCribForABed · 08/12/2007 20:26

They're lovely AQ. I've added some pitures on my profile here.

Indith · 08/12/2007 20:56

Aww Margo your girls are very sweet.

I hate sinusitis, I've not had it for 5 or 6 years, I'd forgotten how evil it is. I want ABs and I want them now! But will have to wait til Monday afternoon as Monday morning is open surgery and I am not sitting in a waiting room full of students with endoftermitis for 2 hours.

Hi all, sorry to be so absent. We've had some horrid flu-like virus and I'm still not recovered. Will upload new pics to MN pronto!

FGS, I would be more than happy to chat about HSC. It probably would be better to do it on facebook as it seems to bring out the less than desirables on threads on MN - guess you probably saw that. I do love MN but it can be strange sometimes

babypowder · 09/12/2007 10:44

Indith, hope you're not in too much pain with the sinusitis. I couldn't believe how awful it was when I got it for the first time - you poor thing.

Hope things are better in the Jabber house as well. What a miserable winter for bugs.

Nice to see the Christmas smileys back

babypowder · 09/12/2007 20:26

Love the cake, Jabber. (What double chin?)
