Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

My turn for lurgies. Any ideas?

castlesintheair · 02/12/2007 18:37

Probably something to do with nappy rash/allergy BP. Take her to GP if you are still worried in morning.

DD2 had her 1st birthday on Friday. She confirmed her knowledge of the event when DS asked her the night before "is it your birthday tomorrow?" and she replied "yeah"

Did we have the birthday party event on Facebook? I had a look and couldn't find anything. I will have some photos to post of DD2 smearing herself in dayglo yellow icing (DD1's choice) and smarties, when I can work out how ...

Lizzer · 02/12/2007 18:40

Message for Indith, I saw your message for us lot in dec 07, just wanted to say aww thanks, that's lovely

Hope you all had a wonderul first year with your lo's, sleep deprivation not included

Byeee

jabberwocky · 02/12/2007 20:15

eli, I'm definitely for the idea of somewhere warm, fun and extravagant

Glad to hear the babies are better. bp, it does sound a little like a viral rash. I always hate when they get those mystery rashes. You never know quite what to do. Does it itch her at all?

Speaking of viruses, we're all walking around with pretty low energy today. I was able to take a nap at the same time as ds2 and we both slept about 2 hours

accessorizewithbabysick · 02/12/2007 20:34

Yeah, christmas birthday season is a little tiring. Glad to hear about your dad, though, eli, that's good news.
I think my af has arrived, hard to tell really, but can't be bothered to buy/take a test! This particular weekend I def didn't want another (ds1 didn't stop talking/whingeing/demanding at ALL, ds2 up in the night, clingy all day, I have sinusitus again etc) but who knows?
Hugs to all sickly babies. BP, certainly sounds viral to me, ds2 comes up with similar thing a lot, is there something she could take with a mild antihistamine?
Indith, bp, berry plush nappy, mmmmm, must buy!

babypowder · 02/12/2007 22:38

Indith, I very nearly posted on the Dec 07 thread today. I was fondly remembering how desperate I was to get to the 20th and have the baby that had been giving me such problems. It is such a special time, those last few weeks before you have a baby. But best viewed in retrospect, methinks

Thanks for all the ideas about DD2. She seems perfectly well in herself and has been gobbling loads of soft food (someone on the other thread suggested hand foot and mouth. Fantastic )

I think I've finished xmas shopping. Execpt for DH. Why are men so damned hard to shop for?

I feel I must share with you the joy that is a L'Artisan du Chocolat advent calendar. DH and I share each day's chocolate and make it last for aaaages. Trust me, there is no need for any of that sex thing when there's chocolate this good in the house

jabberwocky · 03/12/2007 02:06

ooo, ds2 has a berry plush. They are quite something!

Indith · 03/12/2007 09:32

Lol BP on many counts!

I totally forgot to get our Advent calendar out this year Last year I was desperate to get it out, possibly something to do with excuse to eat sweets in addition to being pg.

My last 2 weeks were horrible, I was so desperate to go into labour, should the same occur next time around I'd try to relax a bit more.

Christmas shopping- Dp is done and dusted, have dp's db's dp and my sister and her dp left. My sis and dp are horrible to buy for. If anyone has any ideas for a couple of loners who eat all meals on the sofa off their knees and don't seem to have friends or go out then please suggest stuff! Sister knits so was going ot get Shaun the Sheep DVD and knit your own Shaun then attempt to find something Dr Who or Star Warsy for her dp but John Lewis ran out of knit your own Shauns so I just have a DVD and am very stuck!

Ds said a quick hello at 6am today then slept til 8.45!

I love babies when getting over bugs. Aside from the sleep taking over from the screaming there is the utter joy as they realise they enjoy food again. Ds tucking into his spag bol with glee was great last night

babypowder · 03/12/2007 12:10

Took DD2 to the nurse practitioner this morning (why can't we see doctors anymore? ) Apparently the rash is nothing to worry about. I still think its hand foot and mouth, but she didn't even raise the issue so I'm just going to let sleeping dogs lie.

DD2 is still nowhere near sleeping through the night. We ended up with 4 in the bed again last night. I'm definitely buying a king size in the sales.

accessorizewithbabysick · 03/12/2007 12:43

Ooh, we're back on chocolate, excellent - can never have too much and I don't even have an advent calendar! Never have.
LOL bp too I thought h, f&m is very minor only prob is it's very contagious?
My boy's plush little bottom is something to behold, perhaps we should post photos jabber! where are turkey cakes photos btw?!
Glad your ds back to normal feeding, indith, ds2 had spal bol last night too (at Ask ) and was loving it despite getting another ear infection this weekend.
There was a really good presents thread last week for non-stuff stuff like a subscription to audio.co.uk for dh's who drive a lot (might get one for dp).
I did huge rash of present/party supplies buying last night so virtually done. And I ordered my calendars from Snapfish, highly recommend these for gp's. This year both boys feature of course, and it's soo cute!

accessorizewithbabysick · 03/12/2007 12:46

Has anybody posted bday photos on Facebook? i'll do one of ds2 on his wheelybug on thursday, but you ALL have to post one too!

I'm very excited, if only dp & I were speaking. ordered pirate party stuff last night for next week's party. I'm having about 4 friends for ds1 plus a few babies, how can you manage 20 4 year olds Eli?!! How can she know 20 other kids? DS1 only started talking to other boys this year and completely ignores girls, despite their longing looks..

Indith · 03/12/2007 12:52

Awww, sounds very cute. I am awaiting m NCT tea towels with footprints of all the little people for all grandparents and great grandmas

My house looks like it hasn't been cleaned for a month (I did it on Friday I promise!) and I don't care DS is happy and I am making up for all the screaming of last week by taking full advantage and rolling around on the floor with him. We have a couple of BT balloons left over from the last recruitment thing dp did and he had been chasing those around. I'll do the stressed mummy attempts to clean while baby fusses and gets board and makes mummy more stressed thing another day.

Just got a Shaun off E-bay and my mum suggested a magazine rack for sister's dp as she is getting him a magazine subscription. Just need to hope Shaun arrives by Friday as we are supposed to be going to see them this weekend. Will be the second time my sister has seen ds....we have such a close relationship

OP posts:
Indith · 03/12/2007 12:54

Good point about 20 4 year olds! Even I stop at 16 5 year olds!

OP posts:
accessorizewithbabysick · 03/12/2007 13:05

I think the personalised pressies are lovely, we have also got some stamps coming for dp's mum which she will love!
My sister's only seen ds2 twice since he was born too, but we are fairly close. My brother & i are another story tho (he's in oz). Found out yesterday his (pregnant) wife has kicked him out (again) after she found an incriminating email to another woman. They have a five year old to Would not know what to say to him, I speak to him once a year. He didn't even send a card or email when ds2 born, nada. Shaun sounds good tho', got to get something!

Indith · 03/12/2007 13:25

Ouch

I swear ds is on some sort of happy pill combined with pro plus today.

We have literally just been rolling around and giggling all day. I've just put him down for a nap as I'm sure he must be tired by now (normally has 2 hours in the morning) and he is babbling in his cot!

bebespain · 03/12/2007 18:29

Hi all

Not had time to catch up on posts so hope all is well and those with poorly LOs are on the mend [wink}

We´ve a seriously bunged up nose today and DS is struggling to breathe. I feel so sorry for him but apart from that he´s seems happy enough. Just put him to bed and he´s snuffling...such an adorable little sound but not nice for him.

I went to the Chemist to try and get a Karvol equivilent but they said I´d have to take him to the Doc´s (really - its not that serious!). They recommended a strange contraption that you shove up LOs nostrils to clear them out - looked like some kind of torture equipment Scary!

Indith · 03/12/2007 19:39

Bebe Spain I ended up with one of those when Ds was seen by a Dr in France! Had to squirt saline up his nose then suck all the snot out. Not nice but he did seem a bit happier afterwards!

Not so useful was the spray which the English Dr confirmed was an allergy spray. The same sort of thing that used to give me 5 nosebleeds a day in my teens. I rather prefer our British Drs!

OP posts:
Indith · 03/12/2007 19:40

Oh yes, next time I moan, please remind me that today Ds has been an utter angel; happy, cuddly, giggly and wonderful. We have had a great day.

bebespain · 03/12/2007 20:19

Oooh me too Indith - much more cuddly Up with the English Drs!

Glad you had a great day!

jabberwocky · 04/12/2007 02:51

Turkey cake photos coming, I promise We're the House of Germs atm, ick...

Indith, soudns like a lovely day!

Elibean · 04/12/2007 12:13

Not even going to try and catch up! Still recovering from Sunday

Actually, AQ, I didn't manage a thing softplay place did it all for me, and much as I hate softplay places this one is great: manageable size, clean, good food, excellent chocolate birthday cake with pink icing and fairy princess to order, and a lot of knackered kids after 2 hours. Amazingly, it went without a hitch And dd looked stunning in a - wait for it - purple sequined mini dress, courtesy of M&S. Funnily enough, she spent months telling me she didnt' want any boys at her party (what are boys??) then suddenly, a few weeks ago, made friends with a few at pre-school...started with one little boy asking her for a playdate, and when I told her she actually giggled in a sort of coy way... Surely not?! I do remember a crush on a boy when I was four, sort of

Indith, I know exactly what you mean about the joy of recovering babies - I love it when dd starts eating again. Glad you LO is better, and BP glad the rash hasn't turned into anything too nasty. Get well soon to the Jabber household!

FGS, off to check out oyour link....

jabberwocky · 04/12/2007 13:49

Eli, that party sounds fab! And, yes, I remember having a crush at the age of 5 so it is possible, lol.

I think the worst may be over. Ds2 had diarrhea yesterday but his fever broke mid-morning and he only woke once last night. Ds1 complained of sore throat more than anything.

And...I'm still supposed to be flying out for my conference today - eeeek!

jabberwocky · 04/12/2007 13:49

PS - have uploaded pics to facebook

FrostyGlassSlipper · 04/12/2007 17:45

Ok, so back from Drs and he was great.

He is going to do a blood test for anaemia and also thyroid problems. When the results come back he wants me to book another appt with him to talk about them and also to have an internal (eek!) so he can check it all out.

Then he said we could discuss next steps. He suggested Mirena or Pill could be open to me depending on what we find and whether or not I want more children.

So, blood test booked for next week...

Also being referred to orthopeadic surgeon as I have a knee problem and Dr thinks it may be a cartalidge problem
