Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

Knackered here. Up at 5.30

Now I'm tired and we all have colds.

Got upset today because I'm on DD1s pre-school committee and it's just shit

DD2 fighting sleep so she's had 2 x 20 min naps today. Did manage to play Snap & matching animals cards with DD1 while DD2 sleeping though which was fun.

Feel like I'm failing both of them at the moment tbh.

Anyway, sorry. Mememememememe....

jabberwocky · 28/11/2007 16:44

Ds2 in a not so good sleep phase atm too. Dh let me sleep upstairs last night as I was turning into a walking zombie. Ds2 up from 1 to 3. I heard him quite a bit around 2 but managed to finally shut it out as I just had to catch up on some shut-eye!

Indith · 28/11/2007 18:25

Yay mumsnet!

Internet been down at home all day (was at uni earlier...erm...working....). Spent ages on the phone with Bt who managed to get my little lights green again on the shiny home hub but still wouldn't connect. Was having panic attacks that wouldn't be able to come and moan at you lot tonight after an afternoon of screaming, then ds started screaming in earnest again so I slammed the phone down on random Indian BT guy, went to put ds to bed and NOW IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!

Another night another dose of medised. There should be a law against small children being able to get bugs while having manic teething issues. There should also be a law against more than one child being ill at a time so that Oli can get some sleep

FGS I expect your dd thinks that you are supermum. Snap is fab

Indith for Prime minister, I say! That's definitely one for the statute books.

I'm hoping it's going to be better. Dd was oaky last night and ds2 wasn't as bad, plus tonight he fell asleep in his cot, rather than having to be cuddled to sleep which I've had to do for quite a few nights. Still clingy though. Have dug out the Hippychick to give my poor hips a rest.

FGS, try not to beat yourself up. You're a good mummy just because you're worrying about it, rather than not caring. It's very wearing being a SAHM, especially when they're ill and I know we all have days when we aren't as good as we want to be. But it's okay. Also know how crap committees are. I'm on our village Toddler Group one and I really wish I'd not got involved some days, it's just more hassle and stress than it's worth. Hang in there, it will all get better soon. ((Hugs))

babypowder · 28/11/2007 20:27

Oh, I do miss you all. I could log in while I'm working, but I'm still in my 'I've just returned to work, and I've managed to convince everyone that my revised working pattern is a good idea, so I'm going to be really, really conscientious' phase. It'll pass ....

I think everyone is struggling with bugs just now. It's just awful. Commiserations to all.

Indith and AQ, I'm still using good old totsbots for days and nights. Should I be using something else? Go on - convince me to try something new I miss buying nappies!

That said, the nursery was completely bemused by the nappies, and they are taking a while to get used to them. I had to show them what to do the first day DD2 was there. I think its great they're willing to change real nappies (cos, lets face it, sometimes its a bit gruesome! )

babypowder · 28/11/2007 20:28

And still only 2 teeth here ... thank god!

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 28/11/2007 20:31

Indith - We have had to place 2 calls to BT because the homehub wasn't working, we only had it for 2 weeks with the first fault.

The cough and cold has been hard to shift but the girls are in much better spirits now.

Dh and I had a row on Sunday. He stayed up until 3am playing on the computer with his mate (online) then he wanted a lie in because he felt so rough. It's been a frosty couple of days in the Margo household. We seem to be on talking terms now. I hate wasting a day of hard work for such a bad excuse.

Indith · 28/11/2007 20:52

Men! Dp gets no sympathy from me! Especially when he gets to go away for a week long jolly work thing, that is 5 whole unbroken nights!

Our first homehub fault, all broadband providers are just as bad as each other though, Tiscali were terrible. At least this is free

Hmm BP, what to spend your money on.........i don't know. I still love the idea of minki pocket nappies as they look fab but I'm so in love with my terry squares still, they are just so perfect and slim fitting and just are the perfect nappy that, folded well, will contain anything! Huggles for nights though.

Creche are pretty good with real nappies though some of their terry folding leaves much to be desired!

Eli,Hugs for you and your dad.

My broadband is playing up and this is the third time in two nights I've tried to log on and catch up.

Ooooh! pg tests. I'm quite !!!! I think it'll be at least a few years before I get permission to reproduce again. At times I'm not even sure DH will go for no three. He keeps joking about "no more kids" in front of his/our mates/friends! He won't discuss it seriously which is really pissing me off. I WILL have third child

Elibean · 28/11/2007 22:51

Thanks

Indith, you can TRY to ignore me, but here I am chanting....pee, pee, pee....

AQ, last night was ok - she sleeps soo well with Medised Definitely teething, had a feel today and, weirdly, feels like one at the back?? Surely can't be a molar yet, can it - she's only just got the first top teeth?

FGS, I know that feeling of failing them both - it comes when I'm sad or exhausted, and its not true. Sounds like you could do with some sleep and a huge hug.

Gloria, dd2 gets non stop diarrhoea/slushy exploding poos with colds...you wouldn't believe how busy our washing machine has been these past few weeks

Had an email from my Dad, sounds as though no scans tomorrow - just a meeting with the hormone/radiotherapy expert?? Odd. I imagine they know what they're doing, just hope they're not being slack because of his age

FrostyGlassSlipper · 29/11/2007 09:11

Thanks Guys, especially Indith for descibing me as supermum

Got DD1 a digital clock yesterday to see if it would stop her waking at 6.30. We explained the time to her and said she couldnt get out of bed until 7.00. She woke in the night 3x with runny nose, needing loo etc but other than that she did great and woke at 7.30

Now I just need DD2 to stop coughing all night and keeping me awake.

Indith · 29/11/2007 10:07

Well I started my day well with severe cramping and some bleeding. That would be my missing period then

It all hinges on AQ now

Thinking of you today Eli and hoping for positive news.

accessorizewithbabysick · 29/11/2007 13:15

Awww, Indith...well at least now you know you really really want to! I on the other hand am nowhere near sure - I did think about adopting a bit later on rather than produce more myself. Or fostering, dm did it a bit when we were young.
FGS, they know you love them, that's what counts. I try to remember it's the average that counts. I called myself a bad mum for about 18 months with ds1 (partly depression) and it only made it harder for me to be a 'good-enough mum'. And it's funny how you can make it up to them with such small things isn't it?
spina, dp exactly the same about ds2, I wore him down!
BP, how's work going & the commute? Are you still going to come and see us regularly?
Medised rules, Eli! Must try it myself, I always go for calpol by default. I don't know about molars, but they do hurt a lot don't they? Poor thing. Hope news is good today for your dad.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 29/11/2007 13:20

Sorry Indith Sometimes things like this can be a quick way of realising what we want though!

Indith · 29/11/2007 15:17

I always knew I wanted another 3 or so one, probably best it isn't now but still kind of disappointed.

Guess you'll find out soon enough AQ. Fostering does sound great, it is such an amazing thing to do.

I tried all sorts Indith and I dont think you can do it. Ask Tech?

Indith · 29/11/2007 18:35

meh, not that important. Have just spent the past couple of hours on the sofa with ds, had to pick the poor boy up early as he was all miserable. Total food consumed this week, about 3 yoghurts and a handful of biscuits and crunchy things.
