Morning all.....

Thought I'd start a new thread as the other was huge.

Bit late now but big hug to Beau..... hope you went back to sleep little man.

J & M still asleep, it's one good thing about having Mum & Dad around, I don't have to wake the girls up to do the school run.

Typically N working late on the night i need him most. B's temp has started to spike (that will be the asthma then ) and the kids are breaking down barriers left, right and center and i am too tired to care.

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2007 18:39

Lord help me there is no gin in the house...

ShowOfHands · 28/11/2007 18:44

Now careful Scoot, I'm all of a lather as it is just thinking of Damian but throw in the idea of a debrief and I may just melt in a hormonal puddle. And normally I don't like military-esque fantasies (again LG&T'll tell you, N's probably banned that pacifistic hippy from ever visiting again).

LG&T, don't post the blardy flannel. I'll pick it up next time or you can drop it here in about 4hrs time...

How does B respond to ibuprofen? When M's temp was spiking last week it was the ibuprofen that brought it down and then alternating it with Calpol seemed to keep it down. Not right down to normal but lower than the 40+ it kept leaping up to. Lock the others in the garage (or science HQ as they had christened it last week) and tell them to get working on inventing something useful like a left handed saw or stripey paint.

I have dark orange chocolate, earl grey and have just made some garlic bread from scratch. Pork stirfry for dinner, will make a vat for you and the troops.

What time's N home? Did he pass that exam he didn't revise for btw?

ShowOfHands · 28/11/2007 18:45

LG&T, the chavs hanging around outside the Tescos where I weed in a bush had quite a lot of gin and some pot too by the smell of it. Could you not just nip up the road?

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2007 18:51

Tempting as it is to pop up the road to Gosport Beirut i may give it a miss, i also reserve the right to change my mind at any time.

I have just dosed him up with baby brufen, will calpol the next time, poor wee thing. He is still smiling though

The Lab in the garage has just reminded me of the twins French lesson on Monday.

Teacher: 'Name me some room in your house and i will tell you what they are in French'

Twin: 'We have a science lab'

Teacher: 'Dont be silly, no one has a science lab in their house'

Twin: 'We dont, it is in the garage'

Muppet....

largeginandtonic · 28/11/2007 18:52

Bath time now, oh feck and double feck...

Mrsjollyballs · 28/11/2007 18:56

Evening,

ROFL at todays chat.........

Scoot glad you are back again

Lg&t, they love the asthma trick, farcking dr's, wonder if they get commision on the amount of inhalers they prescibe?

ShowOfHands · 28/11/2007 18:56

Just done bathtime here. Easy with one I know and I just get in the bath with her and see who can splash the most.

PMSL at 'science lab'. They're very funny the DTS.

cameroonmama · 28/11/2007 19:16

Blimey I pop out to do the school run and make krispie cakes and come back to find out I have missed out on the pirate porn again.

Fwiw, dh, international man of mystery, bears a passing resemblance to Mr Lewis, in a non-gingery kind of way. And he has two swords

I can see the dts accidentally blowing the garage up one day all in the name of science, get them on Dragons Den with their stripey paint, someone's bound to invest . Gosport . Its a scary place. I hope Beau doesn't have too bad a night.

MrsJB, you can come and visit anytime you fancy, though perhaps not quite the lap of luxury you have come to expect, we can offer you a kitchen in above zero temperatures and several French people with whom you can discuss fine wine and the dreadful habits of the English.

And yes, it is raining

AutumnMeadow · 28/11/2007 19:52

Well today's chat more than makes up for the quiet days

WELCOME BACK SCOOT :D Sorry you and the girls have been poorly.

Lovely house Cam :D

Boobs (left one more so) are a little sore. Have had major issues in getting her to take the bottle. So decided to start over and do it more gradually. So for this week she will have her mid pm feed as formula, just until she gets the idea of having a bottle. Then next week i will do lunch and afternoon, then the week after will do mid morning, lunch and mid afternoon. Dont particularly want to give it up just i dont think she is getting enough and at least with a bottle i can see what she is taking. She only managed 2.5oz this afternoon! Would be nice to have it all sorted before i go back to work.

ShowOfHands · 28/11/2007 20:02

Right Cam. So your dh, international man of mystery that he is looks like two of the men on my list. Daniel Craig and Damian Lewis. Dear God I'd better not visit you. I'll start babbling with joy and he really will be convinced of the madness of Internet friends.

Does he wear a tux with the bowtie undone and slung carelessly round his shoulders? Does he glide across rooms with effortless sophistication? Has he got a devilish twinkle in his eye?

scootermum · 28/11/2007 20:07

WHAT?An international spy and he looks like the lovely Lewis? No fair..and dont get me started on the house either..

I quite like a bit of the military myself SOH..In fact it was always my ambition to either marry someone in the army so I could live on the base, or a farmer as I would make a lovely farmers wife..
Instead I married an accountant..

Hiya AM (big wave)..My friends baby refused to go off the boob and onto the bottle for ages-in the end she resorted to a doidy cup, but the baby took ages to get used to it and it was very hard work..good luck with it..mind you dont get mastitus or anything..

I have no gin either, but to be fair both mine have gone down ok..albeit after half a gallon of Medised apiece but still..they are both cough cough cough all through the night, then L gets hungry, (she is currently eating nothing but toast, ham, cheese and satsumas in typical toddler mode, it is driving me MAD) and starts mithering for toast.Poor DH is having to shoulder most of it I must say but it aint half knackering..pesky kids..

SKYTVADDICT · 28/11/2007 20:10

Know what you mean AM about getting it sorted before going back to work. C going to his CM for the first time tomorrow at 1pm for a couple of hours. He didn't "request" a b/f this afternoon so I am hoping he doesn't tomorrow either but will supply a bottle and carton of formula just in case. He is then going to DP's sister for another couple of hours. Unfortunately I don't have all this time to myself - it is the school xmas fayre and I am helping out!!!

Had my hair restyled yesterday. Now have a short bob! It looks ok but don't know what it will look like when I have to wash, dry and straighten it myself.

Welcome back scoot and sorry to hear of all people illnesses and poorly babies.

scootermum · 28/11/2007 20:17

Hi SKY....well at least if its short it will be more manageable?Im having mine done at the weekend and am thinking of going for a military style crop..

MarsLady · 28/11/2007 22:08

How's the shopping going? Is there a "Marslady this is what we got" thread yet?

ShowOfHands · 29/11/2007 07:30

I've got mine but I haven't opened it yet. Am I supposed to? I'm still quietly seething at the clever MNer who brought it along to the meet-up so I don't have even a postmark to go on. You're darn clever whoever you are. Have sent said present off for DNA testing and will be contacting you accordingly for relevant testing.

scootermum · 29/11/2007 09:29

Humph..well im goinjg to buy myself a present and that can be my secret santa since I missed it..

Well after smugly saying both my kids were asleep last night, boy did I pay!M woke up shortly after, cough cough, and then hourly all night, and L woke up at 11.15 and ended up in bed with us..thus I spent what time I was in bed and not up with M, right on the edge and not even vaguely asleep whilst DH snored on oblivious..
Have got to go out today to buy a present for one of the cm's kids birthday..so am off to tackle hair, God help me..If im not back in 5 hours it will have defeated me..

Question for P and T owners..does the heavier child go in the top seat or the bottom..the instrutions that largegandt kinldy sent with the buggy are in the garage in a box and I cant face digging through it just at the moment..

Have a nice day all

Mum2G · 29/11/2007 10:22

Morning ladies

I was sat at my PC working away (yeah right) the knocker went, i went to open it thinking grumpily 'who the hell's that disturbing me now', and it was my secret santa! - not in person obviously, So thank you very much Santa, whoever you are! xx

I got a lovely book for George - about doing poos on the loo, it is very funny and i can just imagine him laughing away at it! I will leave the sound effects to Dh though, AND some lovely soaps, that have lavender so they will help me chill out after a hard day, and the box they came in is lovely, it has got my name on it! AND some boots and hat for George which are very cute! I will post a piccie of him modelling them

MKG · 29/11/2007 10:55

Good morning all.

Sorry haven't been around, but we all have been sick, busy, and total craziness has taken over our house. I am so happy that Cruz has hit his 6 month mark. He had his check-up on Monday and he is offically 27 inches and weighs 16 lbs 11 oz. He had 4 shots and has had a fever ever since, not to mention the cold that hit him yesterday, and the stomach bug that seems to be travelling around our family.

Here's a question. My mom is going to London with my cousin for Christmas. What are things that they should see/do that are not the typical tourist things?

Mrsjollyballs · 29/11/2007 12:59

this is what we got mars

Please keep the lovely Marslady up to date on the thread above.

lg&t, how's B this morning?

LOL, I am physic you see, I sensed it was raining yesterday.

Still, tiling.................grumble, grumble....

AutumnMeadow · 29/11/2007 13:11

Scoot, Lily will sit in the front and Mae in the back :D

largeginandtonic · 29/11/2007 16:18

Hello everyone!

Hoep we are all having a good day, i was till the baby threw up on me while i was out. I smellt of eau d' sick for the rest of the day till i got home to change, nice.

DH out tonight, proper lads out drinking stuff. I have told him not come home, i cant take either the drunken love ( not pleasent with beer breath and such like) or the overreacting, ridiculous arguments. I have packed him off to his friends. I expect the same favour some time in the near future

Ha!!!!!

largeginandtonic · 29/11/2007 17:13

My best friend just called, she had her baby this afternoon! First contraction at 2, she went to the loo had 3 more contractions and knew this was it. Her sister was there luckily and called the midwife (she was having a home birth)they could hear her making those pushing noises a speedy midwife team came out to her and just as her dh got in the door little Miles was born at 312

Oh she is a clever girl

ShowOfHands · 29/11/2007 17:22

Fantastic news LG&T. I'm very pleased for her. Is she ok? In shock at all? That's an extremely rapid labour. She should be rightly very proud of herself, tucked up in bed with Miles (fab name) and waited on hand and foot. Report back after you've visited with tales of adorable newborns and tempt us all into having more. I need a shove to make the decision. Ooh newborns...

Hope N has a good time tonight and that you get to enjoy the bed all to yourself without too many interruptions. Is it other navy types he's out on the town with? I shudder to think... How's B?

Scoot do you want a not so secret santa pressie? Somebody send me her address as she's too coy to do it herself and I'll pretend to be somebody else all in the name of intrigue. Can I pretend to be Uma Thurman and have her figure at the same time?

ShowOfHands · 29/11/2007 17:23

PS First veg box arrived today. DH is celeriacking in the kitchen as I type...
