I bought the best ice cream I have ever had ever! It is Mrs Beetons apple crumble and I love it! It is really creamy and has stewed apple and bits of crunchy cinammon crumble in it...mmmm might go and eat lots before I start on the points tomorrow!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 13/11/2007 21:06

Buggery bollocks Foxy, that sucks. Pasta & pesto? Cheese & toast?

We've had such a lovely day - went into town for dh's birthday... how about yours?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 13/11/2007 21:07

My dpn is sat on the sofa with a bucket of warm soapy water and a brush and is lovingly washing his golf clubs ! Why can't he show that much affection to the kitchen floor or the toilet?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 13/11/2007 21:08

WTF is a dpn? I mean dp!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 13/11/2007 21:09

But all the excitement today has worn me out, so off to bed for me.

Night Jammy. Sweet Birthday Dreams!

What did you do in town today Annobal?

I went to the gym this morning. When I got to the creche I really couldn't be arsed, so the lovely women who run it invited me in for a cuppa instead. Then I trundled around the shops looking for things I really need for birthdays/parties and came away with nothing except a feeling of having achieved nothing at all.

Good God, I'm full of joy. Going to get pudding. Will be jolly next post, I promise!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 13/11/2007 21:15

night birthday girl

annobalthebignosereindeer · 13/11/2007 21:20

Just went for a walk through Covent Garden, took some trousers back for dh and met dh for lunch at pizza express. Had all 3 with me and ds2 insisted on walking everywhere so progress was slow.

Gym sounds nice - am considering ways of getting back - haven't finished ds3's imms so can't use creche yet.

Am off to watch spooks now. nite all

foxythesnowman · 13/11/2007 21:31

mmm Spooks ...

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 13/11/2007 21:58

Off to bed in a sec but just popping in again. Holly is everything ok, you seem to be in a particularly sweary mood tonight (not that it fucking bothers me!)

Foxy - the twunt! can you return the favour by leaving him to starve tomorrow. The think is my DH would happily live on PB on toast if I didn't cook! Thinking of you though foxy. I know things are particularly stressful. Good show on the pudding though. There's not a lot a bit of cake won't fix!

Night all!

justbeme · 13/11/2007 22:55

Just to say Hi and Bye - ( I bet you're all in bed!)
Had a busy day so only just caught up.

Happy Birthday Jammy! (what did you get?)

Foxy - the Twunt - where does he go on a tuesday night then?

Have a good meet up tomorrow Annobal and Andy ( I think)

Done 2 more mystery shops today and a naughty Pharmacist nearly sold me 2 different Day Nurse stuff - tut tut (I expect she'll get severely told off!).
Right bedtime drink then off to make sarnies for tomorow -
Night all xxx

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 14/11/2007 09:24

Morning all Had another reasonable night. I think the cat was more of a pain than LO to be honest!

Hope you're all well, and any ailments are improving if not gone altogether and that we all have a twunt free day.

Good morning all!

Foxy I'm SHOCKED - I saved one of those rockets for putting up his arse....I would be pissed off too!

Have just been to see a pre-school (which is part of a primary school) for DD1...hmm I am not convinced. It's one of the best primaries around here, but am I right in thinking 2 hours a day for the next 2 years (EVERY day during the week except holidays - they were hardcore about that) is more hassle than it's worth?

Sputnik · 14/11/2007 11:41

What are you supposed to do with 2 hours? Factoring in drop off and pick up times. I'm beginning to appreciate the Italian system: they can have lunch, stay til 3.30 and no one says anything if you don't take them in some days.

BadZelda · 14/11/2007 11:47

yeah...it kind of sucks. There's another lovely nursery/pre-school near here that does 2 hours in the first term, and then 5 hours (incl. lunchtime) after that, but doesn't have a primary attached to it: a bit more practical....and the first ones says that there's no guarantee that they'll get a place at the school even if they've been there to nursery for 2 years...so I don't see the point of having SO much hassle when she might not get a place at the school at the end of it. Oh it's such a minefield!

BadZelda · 14/11/2007 11:48

(and this is not the right thread for talking about such things I'm sure...but it's a big scary world out there in the rest of mumsnet)

Sputnik · 14/11/2007 11:56

I'd go for the other one then.
Agree about the minefield, see all my preschool-choosing-angst on past threads, and it's only just beginning

justbeme · 14/11/2007 12:52

Ohh its quiet on here today - took me all of 2 mins to catch up!

Been out to a baby group - may go to another one later as I need something in Town. Nothing very exciting to report.

BadZelda · 14/11/2007 13:30

Yo I'm here....I'm SUPPOSED to be having a writing day today...but DH has messed up a bit on collecting our new christiania, so am left in charge of baby...with NO toddler and lots of time to mumsnet. Am about to go down and collect my latest draft from the printers though...nearly ready to send back to the publisher [excited]

Sputnik · 14/11/2007 13:39

What's a christiania? (presume you're not taking delivery of a Danish hippy commune)

justbeme · 14/11/2007 13:41

Hi there! - Im off out in a mo too, but just noticed that TA has left our "group" on facebook??? I wonder why?

BZ - ohh good luck!!

BadZelda · 14/11/2007 13:52

one of these - we've had a second-hand one for a while, but decided to part exchange it for a lighter, shinier version as we love it so much.

Sorry to hear that about TA - but I got the impression from one of her posts that she was a bit disillusioned with 'virtual' friends hope she's ok what with the job and stuff.

BadZelda · 14/11/2007 13:59

and Sputnik - I don't think you're too far off the mark - they invented them.

justbeme · 14/11/2007 16:58

back again! my oh my its v quiet.
love the bike BZ!

There was a sad moment at Bumps and Bundles, one of the Mums died on sunday leaving a 4mth old - I can't picture who she was as its quite abig group, but it still makes you think and its a terrible tragedy.

BadZelda · 14/11/2007 16:59

It's Soooooooo quiet....
