Oh all right Foxy
Mine's chubby, but not that great a night sleeper, really

I would happily send you a little of his blubber, or indeed mine, if it was possible

TheQueenOfQuotes · 13/11/2007 14:08

"I don't think it occurs to very little kids to fake illness,"

oh yes it can........DS2 did a very convincing impression of being knocked out unconscious on the hard stone floor at church while I was pg with DS3 (quite early on) so he was barely more than 3yrs old.

I was playing the organ, he was running up and down the aisle on the opposite side from me. Suddenly I looked up (about 5 minutes before service was due to start) and saw quite a few people crowded round and that I was being beckoned furiously. I rushed off and across to find him motionless on the floor. He'd apparently slip while running and they thought he'd knocked himself out.

After the initial panic I thought about other, similar (but not quite so dramatic) pieces of acting he'd done and I tickled him under the chin (where he's extremely ticklish). His mouth moved as he tried to stop himself laughing. I lifted him up on to my knee (with others saying "do you want us to call and ambulance.......and me saying no he's fine) and after another minute or so he opened his eyes.....absolutely fine, hadn't bumped himself at all and hadn't been knocked out!!!!!! He was just pretending - and as he knew more people were looking he kept it up longer!!!

foxythesnowman · 13/11/2007 14:19

ah, thanks, but I have plenty of blubber myself!

How are you today?

Lo fed every 2 hours again last night, but just went 5 hours without as she fell asleep 2 hours after her last feed for 3 hours. had to wake her.

andiemisletoe · 13/11/2007 14:35

sorry jammy happy birthday to you hou

foxy I am in the 2 hrs at night camp at the mo he goes down at 7 and then from midnight onwards is on the boob every 2 hrs at least are you co sleeping? i'm not but thinking about it (he is chubby though 91st centile) don't stomp at me

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 13/11/2007 15:00

Happy birthday jammy, hope you are having a lovely day!

Foxy, I'm the same as sputnik, fat baby, no sleep! He doesn't really feed during the day, but turns into a crazy boob monster at night! Oh well, at least we co-sleep so I don't actually have to haul myself out of bed!

I'm gonna have a really lardy dinner tonight and loads of ice cream and then go to my first WW meeting! If I weigh more when I first get weighed then I will lose more weight and be happier next week! Wicked! I am seriously fat!

andiemisletoe · 13/11/2007 15:11

holly go for it I have lost 6lbs in 2 weeks doing it online but have had bad 2 days aagh

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 13/11/2007 15:21

AIBU to want to chin Angelina Ballerina? Stupid little bitch!

Wow andie, that's fab. I saw a friend the other day who I hadn't seen for about 6 months and she had lost so much weight that she didn't look like the same person. SHe looked amazing and it was all down to WW. Hopefully I can lose a bit of weight and actually feel like getting dressed in the morning rather than slobbing about in the house in trackie bottoms all day!

Sputnik · 13/11/2007 15:23

Well I guess I stand corrected BadZ and QofQs. How about they can't fake it for very long

I am actually too zombie-like with the night wakings to even remember next day how many there were, but usually between 1 and 3. Andiem, we have a cot in a sidecar arrangement for co-sleeping. I either lean in to bf (not too comfortble and I stay awake) or pull him towards me and fall back asleep. Anyway, we did this with DD too and I'm happy with it as everyone has their space (especially useful if DD decides to come in at 6, or for family lie-ins).

annobalthebignosereindeer · 13/11/2007 15:57

Andie, that's fantastic! LOL Holly - sounds like a great idea. We're still up for tomorrow - let me know when and where - we should be okay at about 11ish. Send me an email at my mn name @mac.com...

Foxy - I like your parenting via crisp method. We use a similar one here with chocolate cake . Foxy, out of interest did you try the Urtica Urens? How is the feeding going? Don't think you can stomp at me but then I'm not sure as I haven't had ds weighed for a few weeks (actually had him weighed at his first imms and he hasn't had any others).

Glad I'm not the only one with disturbed nights - we are currently waking at 12.30 and 5.30. Think I might go back to the 10.30 feed...

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 13/11/2007 15:57

Sorry can't catch up at the moment I just popped in with a msg for Andiem and Annobal. I'm gutted but I will have to cancel tomorrow. I woke up this morning feeling horrendous, pounding sinuses and a temperature. DD and DS aren't well either and DH has had to take the day off to look after us as I'm as much use as a chocolate teapot. I might well be a bit better tomorrow (she says hopefully as DH has to go to work) but looking at the DCs today, I definitely wouldn't want to take them into town tomorrow even if they seem better, as they both currently look all pale, snotty and full of cold.

I'm really, really disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing Andie again and to meeting Annobal, but I do have to be at least a bit sensible (stamps foot). Please go ahead without me and I will definitely come next time.

BTW, I think it's Jammy's bithday??? If it is Happy Birthday, if not then I blame my confuzled brain.... off back to my pit now

andiemisletoe · 13/11/2007 16:01

aah fairy don't worry you just need to be better my lo is much better this pm

annobal shall we do cafe auplay for 11 I have blondish bobbed hair and a navy and blue striped pram I also wear glasses

can't wait to meet you know there is a new neals yard shop in kingston now?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 13/11/2007 16:01

feel better soon fairy.

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 13/11/2007 16:03

Thanks both of you, have a good time

annobalthebignosereindeer · 13/11/2007 16:14

Andie, sounds good. Can you email mob number? Just in case traffic terrible. Also not sure where cafe auplay is...

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 13/11/2007 16:26

Hope you feel better soon fairy. How shitty for you xxx

BadZelda · 13/11/2007 16:56

Hello....oddly didn't get to post my last message, where I filled you all in on my exciting day (you didn't miss much). Fairy: sorry to hear you're all full of colds. I swear by redoxon / effervescent vitamin C if your DH could get hold of some for you? Great for getting rid of colds and boosting the old immune system.

BadZelda · 13/11/2007 16:57

Well...DD1 has definitely stopped napping now...have just spent the whole day traipsing around to play group and soft play...she's bright as a button and I am KNACKERED...though I guess I haven't got a leg to stand on as DD2 slept till 6.30am this morn (though DD1 had me up at 2am...)

She did manage to eat a MASSIVE lunch out at a cafe today...so Foxy I think you're dead right and it is all about context.

And WW / whatever...hmm don't know but might be tempted. I've never been on a diet in my life (not to say I'm skinny, just have never tried it.) but since all the wires are falling out of my bras I had to go buy new ones today...34FF!!!! At least the lady in the shop was sympathetic to my horror and found some quite pretty ones.

BadZelda · 13/11/2007 16:59

Odder and odder - it just reappeared...hmm - funny cache on my machine I reckon

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 13/11/2007 17:26

Thanks everyone for birthday wishes. I have had a lovely day so far, out for lunch and shopping with a friend DH is making peking duck pizza for tea and I'm hoping DDmight sleep well again tonight

OP posts:
BadZelda · 13/11/2007 17:34

Happy Birthday Jammy! But Peking Duck Pizza is just WRONG on SO many levels!

foxythesnowman · 13/11/2007 17:36

Its probably one of those things that shouldn't work but does and is delicious!

How can a child complain about pasta ffs??!!! Another tea time, another row.

foxythesnowman · 13/11/2007 17:42

Annobal - if you happen on the off-chance to be taking the S Circular/A3 route to Kingston (probably not, but I'm asking anyway) drop in for a brew if you like on your way back. Text me if you want to, I'll be around.

Didn't try it yet, as haven't been down to Neal's Yard. Am trying some More Milk tincture [bleurch emoticon] and Mothers Milk tea (which isn't so bad). Having problems today because as I am feeding all night there's not much milk in the morning so nothing to express off. Managed 2 oz after 2 feeds today so nothing to top her up with this evening and nothing much left to give her. Might have to give a bottle of formula tonight. Weigh-in at 11 tomorrow.

BadZelda · 13/11/2007 17:46

Did you try any fenugreek in the end foxy? I got great results with that, apart from smelling a bit like curry. You only need 4-5 capsules at a time, so can send you some to try if you like?

BadZelda · 13/11/2007 17:48

It's just me...I've always been of the opinion that pizza should only ever have a sprinkling of tomato sauce on it, a bit of cheese and MAYBE some fresh rocket...but do realise I'm in the minority on this. (I was about to say meat on pizza is ALWAYS wrong, but then remembered that I do quite like a bit of parma ham occasionally)

andiemisletoe · 13/11/2007 18:07

agree re pizza bz so you are not alone we are pizza purists

annobal the cafe au play is by the side of the rotunda where the cinema is it is down the side of it not actually inside
I haven't been myself as ds1 is too old but fairy said it was food for littlies
will e mail my mobile number what is email couldn't quite get if it was all of mn name or just annobal part
