Hiya loves

Hope everyone is tickety boo.

Sorry to those with poorly babes - makes it so hard doesn't it. I have to say I am dreading the whole nursery bug treadmill again!

Eddas, I know exactly how you feel. I wake up in the morning thinking here we go again, which is such a terrible attitude. I am desperately trying to be more upbeat, and I really think it is helping. B seems to pick up on it and is much more upbeat herself. I think a break, if you can get one, is the best medicine. I haven't had any time off from the girls since K was born. In 2 weeks however, I am off with my 2 cousins for a weekend of indulgence. Cannot bloody wait!!!

IDOC, we just have a vaporiser from Boots. It plugs in to the wall, and you buy pads to put in it (menthol and eucalyptus I think they are) The vaporiser basically warms up the pad and wafts out the vapours. It is wonderful. Hope S is feeling better soon.

Weepotion, are you not going to have another baby then?? Sorry, I am so nosey!!

Oooggs, cannot believe Jack woke for MORE milk last night!!!

Completely forgotten everything else sorry! Head is mush. Pil's have suggested we rent a cottage for christmas which is all well and good, but with less than 2 months to go, there aint much left! Have spent bloody hours trawling websites.

Hope you are all well. See you gorgeous lot tomorrow. xxxxx

Sexonlegs · 27/10/2007 22:02

Also meant to say that we have raised one end of K's cot so that she is not lying flat and so her nose doesn't get blocked as much.

Hi BWI, hope your plan works and you are not up at the crack of dawn

busywithIzzy · 27/10/2007 22:02

Hi Dippy
When you say you don't do Christmas shopping do you mean not for the children either? Good on you donating money instead. My Dad and Mum always write a mammoth letter and lots of their friends do as well I love reading them all Enjoy your food!

MurderousMaveta · 27/10/2007 22:02

Aww mammyjo and Elkie, thanks.. your comments made me feel really nice. don´t mammyjo I was only joking, mixed in with a little regret that I do seem to be around less these days.

I was about to have a big ol´moan there but if I´d have started I´d still be typing away furiously in half an hour! Things are totally fine but the adjustment to both of us working/dh studying and the ongoing struggle to keep the house vaguely presentable/ food in the firidge just sometimes seems like paddling against the current. Poor N wakes up at least once a night now in floods of tears, presumably with his teeth, really pained cries. And takes a fair while to settle him again with teething gel, calpol, a feed, songs and whispers and cuddles. It´s just all happening at once, you know?

And dh has a man-cold so, you know... [siiiiiiiiigh]

On that note I´m off to bed, have a feeling it´s going to be an unsettled night and the clocks go back tonight so tomorrow will feel even earlier than usual. Maybe I should hide my clock and then we won´t have our minds messed with? Night girls x

oooggs · 27/10/2007 22:04

those babes with colds aswell/instead of rubbing vapour rub on their chests, rub it into the soles of their feet and behind their knees (thats where they get most warm) and the heat from their bodies makes it last longer and waft up. Told this by chemist and did it last night and it worked ish.

busywithIzzy · 27/10/2007 22:06

Hi SOL - Good idea raising the end of K's cot.
Good luck finding somewhere for Christmas...great idea, but imagine it'll be quite difficult at this late stage.

Do you want to meet up again soon?

busywithIzzy · 27/10/2007 22:07

Night Maveta xx

mammyjo · 27/10/2007 22:22

Hello! Quickly popping before going to bed. Maveta, kind of thought you were joking, but didnt like to think I may have genuinely upset you Hope N lets you sleep well

WO, meant to say congrats on the weight loss! Toying with the idea of going back to WW myself, but am really lacking any kind of motivation. Really need to go as have a lot of weight to shift.

BWI, hope you get a lie in tomorrow!!

Pillock, glad J has gone to bed for you tonight!

F has stayed asleep, have checked on her a few times. Poor child cant win, if she doesnt sleep I get stressed but if she does I stress over her being ok!

Night all >>>>>

weepotion · 27/10/2007 22:26

SOL_ - no more wee ones here. dp says no. bah......... maybe leve it a while and try and persuade him. i usually do get my own way

Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:36

Hi everyone, thank you all so much for your knid words. You all make sense and I really do know that this is just one of those things. You know the feelings, just a natural reaction to now having 2 dc's. It's just so hard. It really helps to here that my feelings aren't odd or wrong. That's why I posted really. It helps to write things down. It's nice to say things to people that actually understand where i'm coming from. I know you won't judge, or rush round to take my kids from their insane mother

Am feeling brighter now it helped to not have dd for a few hours. Pinions, i'm affraid I didn't reach for th biscuits but the chocolate called a bit too loudly oh well there's always tomorrow!

Thank you so much for all of your messages, you all make it much easier

Oh and i can't be that bad a mother as when dd came home from the party she wanted ME to put her to bed[very chuffed!] dh wasn't too impressed

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/10/2007 22:37

Pinions · 27/10/2007 22:41

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/10/2007 22:43

OP posts:
Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:44

You going to visit for her bday? which day is it? don't get too drunk, I know i won't

Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:46

[nods] yes pinions, I need you on speed dial for all pathetic parent questions/needing a slap and diet tips

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/10/2007 22:47

noooo, her bday is before that, I am going to the SE meet up on 23rd, then on down to stay with VAMp, SW meet up on 24th, then out drinking

(but shhhhhhhh, I haven't told Jamie he's babysitting yet )

OP posts:
Pinions · 27/10/2007 22:52

Slaps I'm not really very good at.

Pathetic parent questions, no such thing. Not true, there are but your questions as pathetic in any shape or form.

Diet tips, yes. But just not tonight please.

Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:52

oh ok! Thought it'd be a bit weird if her bday was the same day as mine since we're the same year as well! Sorry, talking about you like you won't read this Pesha So you're older than me then

Right i'm off to bed as I'll be a complete grump in the morning otherwise!

DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS

Hope the dc's cope with the change, fingers tightly crossed here. DS was entertaining dad & step mother til just gone 8 so was late to bed and dd got home about 9 so hoping they'll be ok

Pinions · 27/10/2007 22:55

FFS dunno what is wrong with me tonight, should read "are not".

Obviously can't read/write/spell/string together a coherent sentence tonight, so nothing new there.

Will have to try and remember not to type/delete/re-type/delete/re-type in future.

Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:55

ok, no slaps, how about a motherly talking to in that voice only mothers do That's what i'm missing you see, if she was here she'd be sorting me out so really you are all my adopted mothers Do you feel privileged?

I have a small spare piece of dairy milk if you want it

Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:57

adopted's not the right word what is? can't think

Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:57

substitute

Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:57

I am going to bed

Eddas · 27/10/2007 22:58
