WCL, it's really not your fault at all, when I read about toxo.. it sounds horribly easy to pick up. dp always changes our cats' litter anyway, but I believe I had to clean up the odd unpleasant incident in the house when I was pregnant, just because I couldn't really leave it there until dp got home or whatever! And how was what you describe about your stay at your mum's your fault? I'm sure nearly any mum reading this would recognise it could easily have been her dc.

Hugs to you, and let us know if you and your daughter get something nice.

NorthernLurker · 31/10/2007 23:40

Well said Elkie!

aaargh must go to bed now!

leakyR · 01/11/2007 09:05

WCL sorry to hear abot DD's eye. I echo what everyone else has said; you can't blame yourself as there's no way of knowing where it came from. You're a great mum

Morning up since 4.30 but can't say I've been very productive. Gremlin is finally asleep so I'm off to clean bathroom.

SharpMolarBear · 01/11/2007 09:38

So sorry WCL How is your DD dealing with it? Hope you're both ok xx

mammyjo · 01/11/2007 09:55

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2007 10:24

(Apart from the hundred million things I should be doing like cooking dinner for tonight, digging the rest of the lawn, housework, filling in a job application form etc etc etc etc ............)

Maveta · 01/11/2007 10:26

Hello! Wrote out a post yesterday but lost it and then got dragged kicking and screaming into work things so couldn´t post again. Bloomin´ work getting in the way of everything

Norma and KHIN - glad you are getting some help with the PND and that you have good support around you x

Norma - BEWARE OF VENTURE! Seriously, seriously. My sisters and I went with a free voucher to get the free pic for my parents. All very determined not to spend money. We came out almost 900 quid lighter!!! For 4 8x10 prints. We justified it because it had been years that mum had asked for an updated studio shot and since we´d bought them presents. And we could have spent so much more. They do the hard sell really well and if it was N, well.. I hate to think how much we would spend. Be really really sure of how much your upper limit to spend would be IF you do really love the photos (because you almost certainly will).

WCL - sorry to hear your news, isn´t it awful how we always blame ourselves. For all I know I could have been infected too and find some effect on N in x years time.. we have cats, I occasionally ate cured (raw) meats etc and who knows what other risks I took without knowing. Try not to blame yourself because it is NOT your fault..x

Dh off today (national holiday here) so we´ve just been tidying and sorting and making lists of jobs to do around the house. Oh the thrills but I´m still in my pjs so better go get showered before he gets back from the bakery...

Maveta · 01/11/2007 10:28

CD- Firstly and most importantly - do NOT do any of those things you SHOULD do!! Do anything else, a long hot bath, a quiet afternoon on the sofa with a girly dvd and some chocolate? Oooh the possibilities...

My boss had her little boys! Last friday both over 6lbs (and a month early!) so good size. They are already home and very happy. Twin mummies got any pearls of wisdom I could pass on??

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2007 10:37

Thank you for the advice, Maveta - sounds good to me! I am ridiculously excited!!

Phew - I am glad someone else said something about Venture and it wasn't just me - thought I was the only one; but clearly not - Yes, DH and I took DD1 when she was 4 months and ended up spending over £1,000!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooooo about it now - we have only just finished paying it off - four years on - I really regret it, especially because I am a photographer myself () & the photos were majorly digitally enhanced - We are really glad we bought one of the pics - because it is an amazing shot of DD1; but we regret the other shot muchly ...... ....

Congratulations to your boss!

runnyhabbit · 01/11/2007 10:48

MY BOSS IS NOT SUCH A WANKER ARSE AFTER ALL

Sorry to shout but after having an almighty row with dh this morning (another story, think the PND is back) I took the bull my the horns and rang boss, ready to have it out with him. Conversation went really well, and we talked just like I'd never been away. Found out what had been happening with the business (not good, but is getting better) Ans, he's agreed all bar one day of my holidays!!!!!!!!!!(which had already been booked before I asked for it) So even though I go back in 5 weeks, I actually feel quite excited about things!

Just need to sort dh out, and everything will be perfect

Off to catch up
x

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2007 11:01

Whoop!!! Good stuff....

Hope you can sort stuff between you and DH hon. xx

busywithIzzy · 01/11/2007 11:10

So glad you've sorted things out with work Runny
Hope you sort things out with dh, thinking of you.

Dippy - I agree with Maveta, you should do something for yourself, you don't get time on your own very often so make the most of it

I 'spoke' to Nutty on MSN yesterday of my experience of Venture so it wasn't just you Dippy. My whole family went and it cost a LOT of money.

Congratulations to your boss Maveta. Very good weights!

Morning everyone else

I'm pleased with myself today, I have put all the washing away, cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms and dusted our bedroom and it's only 11am that's really good for me, the state of the house has really been getting me down. Just the toy box to tackle now, need a really good clear out especially with Christmas just around the corner.

runnyhabbit · 01/11/2007 11:35

oohhh chocolates don't mind if I do
CD - agree with maveta etc....you must do "me" things this afternoon

Wcl - Sorry to hear your news. We are here for you x

Maveta - great news about the twins

umm, thats it, I think

I love the Venture photos too, but have also heard about the prices.

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2007 12:08

Well done BWI! Well I have done something productive to makem yself feeling better about all the slobbing aroundI am going to be doing this PM! I just dug up the last of the lawn and put it into wheelbarrows all ready to go to the tip ..... go me!!

Now where are those chocolates!!

Eddas · 01/11/2007 12:54

So we all agree that venture is nice but overpriced Sounds like we got off lightly as we only spent £75 We got a free 8"x10" and a 7"x5" for £75 I mean really, how much did that print cost, 50p at most whenever they approach me in the street I just laugh and say I don't think so. Luckily they've never asked why or they'd get a lecture about fleecing people

I haven't been back to asda(or any other supermarket) went into town instead. Picked up one of dd's xmas pressies that was in woolies, a Barbie haridryer hoping it'll mean less crying when we dry her hair

Had a horrible dream last night it had dd in gave her an extra big cuddle this morning and have vowed to tell myself she's only 3 everytime she p@£@es me off today I do love her so very much but man can 3 year olds grate on EVERY nerve

Right off to do lunch for the bubblebutts

Nearly forgot, CD, do nothing not one thing, relax and enjoy the peace. I vote long bath followed by your favourite film, some choccies and a nice drink, all whilst in your dressing gown or curled up and your duvet

oooggs · 01/11/2007 13:11

hi all

well Erin woke at 10.30pm and I eventually got her off at 2am arrrgggggghhhhhhh

Jack also woke in that time and I got him off in the pushchair whilst I dealt with madam the Jack was up just before 6am.

I am sooooooo tired

wcl - not your fault, you have just been dealt a shit hand by mother nature

Eddas - 3 year olds hope 4 years olds are better

gotta go she is starting again

VamPesha · 01/11/2007 14:51

Hi aLL

oOOGGS - SORRY YOU HAD SUCH A CRAP ooops sorry crap night

CD very of your child free afternoon - hope you have a fab time though think i would just sleep!

WCL - i echo what everyone else said you mustnt feel guilty although i know thats easier said than done but its really not your fault at all

And thats all i can remember now, there was much more i wanted to say but its gone again!

Dont think i said but when ellie came down before it was sil's son's 4th birthday party on the sunday. It was at her house so i texted her and said my friend was down for the weekend and could she come with her baby and her 4 yr old and sil said no She said she'd already bought food and dnephew is 'not very good with children he doesnt know' and then couldnt understand why i said i wasnt sure if we were still gonna go or not. Dp said he would go and take dc but was day after he did his knee in so in the end his step dad took dc and we stayed with ellie - no way i was going!
Anyway sil and dn are now coming to dds party on sat with 20 other children. I am soooooooo tempted to text her and ask if dn will be ok with all the other children dp wont let me though

Not sure i'll be able to restrain myself at the party though, may have to casuaslly comment on how well he's coping!

Aaaargh gotta go school!!!!!!! shit where does the time go?????

PillockOfTheCommunity · 01/11/2007 14:57
