hahahaha well, that too but mostly just forgetfulness

I´m just feeling bad there´s nothing I can really offer anyone from here.. anyone like almonds? Turron? I can send some turron out?

Am going to try and get all handy with a sewing machine

and once you´ve stopped laughing.... if I ever manage to make what I am going to attempt to make, I will have little gifts to send out. But don´t get excited...

Just had a quick skype call with my best friend in edinburgh, i love video calls but sadly N is sleeping so I have to call her back when he´s awake... got to dash.. Pillock I will try and remember to email you later this a.m.

Hope you all have a great day x

mammyjo · 27/10/2007 15:21

Hi all. Maveta, nice to see you and good to know you are still doing ok.

Pillock, glad J had a slightly better night, hoping it is better again tonight

Eddas, I know exactly what you mean. Being at home with 2 lo's is really hard. Def get dh to have the kids even for a short time. Makes such a difference to have just an hour of quiet time with no children to interrupt! Pillocks suggestion of coffee and a paper sounds good to me. Might be an idea to share the bedtime too if you feel it will help you. I know you said that dh likes to do it, but he needs to understand that you need to keep that special relationship with your dd too. Hope you are ok xxx

Pesha, your poor friend. Still, at least she has finally decided to do the right thing. Cant even imagine how she must be feeling right now.

I have been to tescos today (woopee do!), but I went on my own!! What a difference it makes, its a hell hole anyway, but a little easier minus children

Dh and ds are off to monster jam later. Its in the millennium stadium and is basically loads of monster trucks rolling around and crushing cars (you get the idea). Not my idea of fun, but ds is very very excited!! Thankfully he is better today as I was worried he would be too poorly to go.

oooggs · 27/10/2007 15:44

Wow how wet are we???????

Caught bus to Plymouth to catch train to Exeter but when we got there the trains were cancelled so we got one to St. Austell instead (ds1 loves trains) had a lovely lunch (& a sneaky Magners ) then trained it home and walked back to the house........ we are soaked, but had a lovely day so far

weepotion · 27/10/2007 15:51

hi folks! hello to you all. i wish these april babies would stop sending vibes to each other - c is also geting up an extra time at night. maybe there is babiesnet with an april 07 thread?

hope you all have had a better week and eddas - hope you are feeling ok. it can be hard to feel that all there is every day is the same old to look forward to.
khin - did those tickts for santa at harrods arrive for you?
mammyjo - how are you now? i really felt fr you and yr posts re breastfeeding. you done so great to feed as long as you did.
pinions - how is it going with you?
luce - nappies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! update please
gmm- how are you now missus? see you at swiming on wednesday??

i have lost 7lbs in 2 weeks!!! back on good old weight watchers and it would be great if i had a stone off by xmas. dont know how much of it is down to WW or to the bf. have had to resist stacks of wispas everywhere i go!

we had our dvd people with us for 2 days. quite a laugh and some kids asked "are you that woman on the tele?" while i was trying to breastfeed in a musuem! hardly discreet.
went out for the 1st night out since c was born to a gig. c must have picked up on something as had to come back early - she was howling for ages with babysitter. am gonna start a babyswop thing with some friends to get them all used to other people pre nursery!

dp is away to london for a party tonight so sorting through all her clothes to go to nct sale - v v v [had] that she wont be in some of those teeny tiny outfits again!

oooggs · 27/10/2007 16:12

hi weeonion - getting rid of c's stuff????? Not having anymore?

thanks maveta

MurderousMaveta · 27/10/2007 17:53

Sounds like a lovely day oooggs despite the weather..

Hi Mammyjo [waves] - why do people keep saying it´s nice to see me like I´ve been away??! I´m not away! I´m here! [stamps feet] Just a bit hard finding as much time to keep up as before but I´m still an april girl! [maveta bursts into hormonal tears]

WO - well done re. the weight! Very impressed indeed and pleased for you, it really shouldn´t bother us so much but it does.. I´m sure breastfeeding must have a big part to play in my weight loss because I don´t think I´m particularly eating less and I´ve certainly not cut down on junk

I also know what you mean, everytime N moves up a clothes size and I go putting his away I have a little ´moment´. And I´m not giving them away but although I assume I´ll have more, who knows what will happen? And it might be a girl who won´t wear some of his clothes. And of course, mainly, it just won´t be him that ever wears them again

Pinions · 27/10/2007 19:28

Wasn't going to post really but, Eddas, just wanted to say hugs?? kisses?? I know exactly how you feel right now.

It's like you can't really "enjoy" the baby cos every time you spend more than a second with them, the older gets jealous and more demanding, making you feel even more guilty as if you are ignoring them when you're not really you are just trying to enjoy the small amount of time you get to spend with your baby.

Then the more you try and explain the worse they get, then on top of things you have still got to do all your day to day duties, as you said such as the shopping. Then they have a tantrum and it all spirals out of control.

The way I see it is that you just have to ride it out and that it is a bad spell which will soon pass and whilst you are going through the bad patch, just try to do the minimum possible, until you feel able to do more. I suppose it's just a time of adjustment for them as well as everyone else really. Don't forget its half term week, I have felt totally out of sync and have found it really hard to keep ds1 entertained and occupied, CAN'T WAIT for monday then at least I get my cup of tea in relevant peace!

If you ask me it's also a crappy time of year, with the darker nights blah blah. Its just food, drink, food, drink here which is not fantastic for these diets!!! Try not to reach for the biscuit tin, you will just make yourself feel even worse.

God if only I could take my own advice I would be onto a winner. Anyway hugs/kisses/ it will soon pass xxx And the ladies here are always willing to listen.

(Off for a glass of red ).

Pinions · 27/10/2007 19:54

Relative peace !! Though could also be relevant I suppose.

oooggs · 27/10/2007 19:55

yes maveta a good day in all and weather getting worse tomorrow

mammyjo - forgot to say earlier but, after not taking any milk last night (only calpol night) Erin went 7pm - 6am without a sound, then at 6am she drank 7oz and went back to bed til 7.30am . Jack on the otherhand who drank 12ozs woke at 4am (drank 7oz) then didn't go back to sleep til 5.30am, then slept til 8am.

Pinions - the hardest advice to take is your own

probably be quiet on here tonight as the rest of you have probably got lives

oooggs · 27/10/2007 20:31

I knew you would all have lives on a Saturday night

geordiemacmummy · 27/10/2007 20:54

I'm here.

C woke at 2, didnt go back down til 3.30, awake again at 4.30, 5.30 and 7... If he wasnt such a cheery little soul during the day then it really would get me down.. better prepared tonight though.. baby rice at 6.30, good dose of medised and then bottle at 7.00... fingers crossed.

Just had lovely pizza and a glass of wine.

Managed to get C's bumble ball today- £3.99 in toys r us..happy days - although the cat is petrified of it.

On the subject of presents - particulary those of you with precious first borns (that dont know any better) what are you buying baby for xmas? I always said that I wouldnt bother much as he has no idea... but well its christmas isnt it?

oooggs · 27/10/2007 20:58

so far all we have got is a car each. dt1 has that one and dt2 has the same but in red & yellow. DS1 loved his and has just outgrown it.

hope tonight is better gmm, is C poorly? we have dosed up on calpol night as well (same as medised)

glad you managed to get your ball, (poor cat) should have bought a few by the sound of it and made profit on ebay

mammyjo · 27/10/2007 21:05

Gmm, crossing fingers for better night tonight. medised is a wonderful thing

No life here, just struggling to get F to sleep. She is normally very good, but took ds and dh into Cardiff so late back and late to bed for her. Have resorted to Calpol night as she had screamed for over an hour. Quiet at the moment............

Maveta, sorry Its just that I am always here virtually every day, so when you pop in after maybe a couple of days, it is nice to see you Didnt mean to upset you

Oooggs, lol at Jack He sounds like ds used to be, a feeding machine!! Erin seems to have the right idea though!

WO, I am fine. Still a bit emotional over the feeding at times, but it is getting much easier and F is happy so that is the main thing! I just never anticipated feeling so sad over it.

Off to eat some dinner, am starving!

geordiemacmummy · 27/10/2007 21:06

dp says "why didnt you just get 1 2-seater"

weepotion · 27/10/2007 21:22

gmm - i was also planing on not gettin gmuch but - cant resist stuff. she has got a bead frame / cube thing, a set of hand puppets, a fisher price jungle train thing with animals, a set of finger puppets, building blocks, a little tikes rocking horse and a load of clothes. (the only way i coudl justify them was to make them xmas gifts.) i MUST not buy anymore.
talking of xmas - liath - have you been able to give any thought/ time to the secret santa???????????

oooggs · 27/10/2007 21:23

to gmms' dp - thought it would be fairer to buy another one as already have ds1s' old car and they already have to share so much. But he could buy this for them if he likes

geordiemacmummy · 27/10/2007 21:25

WO - I bet you got the bead frame from ikea - I got one too last eek - and a cuddly camel... planning on getting one of thse baby walker things that you push along.... mum buying him a high chair.

oooggs · 27/10/2007 21:26

weeonion - I know the feeling, but we already have a lot of stuff from ds1 which is in fab condition and I am planning on wrapping that lot up

weepotion · 27/10/2007 21:30

ooggs - dont blush. i think it is agreat idea. i am working at the nct sale next week and fully intend 2nd hand stuf to be wrapped as well.

gmm - yep - an ikea bead thing!! most house i go to seem to have them!

elkiedee · 27/10/2007 21:33

Hi everyone, haven't really got a life or anything, but this morning I took the chance to spend a little more time reading upstairs while dp was around to take care of D. Then we got out the vacuum cleaner and had a go at making the main room a little bit better, then we went to Finsbury Park cafe. We went to Superdrug and Sainsburys on the way home in search of some new teats but both shops had been cleaned out of them, though I did find D some more cute clothes he doesn't really need and will have grown out of within a few weeks. That's hardly exciting, is it?

WO and Maveta, know what you mean about baby growing out of clothes, I haven't brought myself to put D's 3-6 months stuff away yet, but need to do it soon.

Eddas, sorry to hear you're finding it tough but I have nothing but admiration for how those of you with older dcs already cope with babies (as well as wondering how on earth I will manage if I get lucky twice). Really glad that your MIL was going to help out today, hope that gives you some of the break you need.

Maveta, I know you haven't been away but your posts are so interesting I guess we all miss you when you haven't had much time to post. Take it as a compliment that we're glad to see you "back".

Pillock, sorry to hear Joe's restless/clingy/suffering a cold. Your granny sounds like a real treasure.

PMSL at the idea of babiesnet but I'm thinking maybe it's true, D is clearly also involved in the exchange of tips on how to keep mummy (or parents) on her/their feet.

Pesha, that must be very upsetting for your friend, sounds like others are giving you good advice on how to deal with her need for your support.

I usually leave all Christmas shopping until the last minute and sometimes later, as we're going to my mum's for the first time in 10 years I'm going to have to be more organised this year. Think I'm going to do mail order and get things sent up there in advance. I guess D will get spoiled rotten, am sure I'll find something fun for him but I imagine that on that level the next couple of Christmases will be more exciting for him. Probably clothes in the next size up and/or a couple of small toys.

Will post this essay before I lose it, missing anyone out wasn't deliberate, honest.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/10/2007 21:46

HE WENT TO BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
busywithIzzy · 27/10/2007 21:53

Fantastic

CaptainDippy · 27/10/2007 21:53

Evening!

We don't do Christmas Shopping in this house - give a heap money to a local charity that helps a small village called Kabbubu in Central Uganda instead.

We write a mammouth Christmas letter instead!!

Maveta - I am sure the Bumble wouldn't cost toooooo much to send - how heavy is it WP?? Do have Paypal - email me and we will sort it ..... captain_dippy "at" yahoo "dot" co "dot" uk

CaptainDippy · 27/10/2007 21:54

Good stuff Pillock.

Hi BWI!

Off to eat .................

busywithIzzy · 27/10/2007 21:59

Hello everyone

Have only just put Izzy to bed and Jake is still up...in the hope they may sleep in after the clocks going back tonight.

Haven't bought much for Izzy yet, just a few toys. For Jake I said I wouldn't buy much...ended up buying him loads of little things

GMM - glad you got a bumble ball...they really are great, I remember our cat being pretty terrified of it too.

Eddas - Thinking of you. Hope you got a bit of quiet time today.

Weepotion - Well done on the weight loss I so need to lose some weight...but I can't be arsed.
