BTW forgot to say, SOL but I remember dd took very little solid food until at least 8 or 9 months - she wasn't into it at all at this age. In fact she only really started to eat decent amounts at a year.

Sexonlegs · 30/10/2007 12:51

Welcome back Nutty. Hope the GP appointment goes well.

Runny, have emailed you back

Thanks ladies for your advice. I know it is early days and I should not worry about it -I am sure things will fall in to place.

Quiet here now. Put K in her cot, cried for a few minutes and now peace!

Time for a flake!

Sexonlegs · 30/10/2007 12:54

That is K cried btw, not me! Did feel like crying earlier!!

Liath, hope the settling in session goes well for ds. K has hers booked for next month, and I am dreading it!

MurderousMaveta · 30/10/2007 13:02

at your boss runny, what a pita. Hope you get an answer soon, it must be incredibly frustrating.

Leaky - I do know what you mean about dhs. Mine is pretty good on the whole but night time is on and off. I fed N at 10.30pm last night and when he started crying at midnight I eventually got up and stomped out to get him saying "he doesn´t need fed you know" i.e you could just as easily get up for him I don´t think he even heard me though..

oops, baby calling, back later x

CaptainDippy · 30/10/2007 14:02

Someone tell me to go and out and get digging and stop sitting here finding things to do in my office!!!

Eddas · 30/10/2007 14:11

Dig woman dig

VamPesha · 30/10/2007 14:23

Could you all just stop posting for a couple of days to give me a chance to catch up??

I dont know whats happened to my life but its suddenly got very hectic!

Dp had his knee op yesterday, official verdict - completely f*!cked! He has grade 3 (so very advanced) osteoarthritis in his knee and cruciate is completely ruptured as well as the meniscus which is what they went in to clear up. Oh and theres a funny pink lump apparently that the dr is slightly concerned about but Jamie was pretty high still when they told him that so is a bit vague! Follow up appt in 4-6 weeks when hopefully we'll find out what they're planning to do next. But for now he can barely walk again so I have another person to run around after only he's not quite so cute as the others!

Anyway now have to search for an mp3 player for dd before its time to get ds1 from school. Dd is going to a friend's until 7 when I'm picking up friend and her mum and we're off to local park/wood type place for a Halloween walk!

OMG - I was only popping in to say stop talking so much and look at me! Perhaps I should take my own advice

Eddas · 30/10/2007 14:24

Am just researching stuff on ebay and am how little some things go for. My pushchair/car seat and car seat base was sold for £10 If only i'd known when I paid £150-£200 for it, PFB

Hello BTW

Sexonlegs · 30/10/2007 14:57

Hiya, Eddas ikwym re ebay. We are going to sell our Jane powertrack 3 wheeler which we paid loads for. One went the other day on ebay for about 30 quid!

Well, we have been to the HV and K has dropped below the 9th centile - now 14 pounds 12. She has to go back in 2 weeks, and if she is still dropping they will refer her. HV talked about malabsorption syndrome. Anyone heard of this?

Feel very sad, but I am sure it is just down to the fact that she doesn't seem to like food atm.

Need to go and pick up B from school. See you later. xx

Eddas · 30/10/2007 15:02

SOL, try not to be it's nothing you've done. You say she's happy/sleeping and everything. I havent' got anything to suggest but i'm sure others will be able to help. Try starting another thread in weaning or something. There's many many knowledgeable mners about and I'm sure you'll get some great advice

CaptainDippy · 30/10/2007 15:27

Some babies are just small!!!!! {{{{SOL}}}}}

Well, I dug and grass patch has shrunk considerably. P woke up so couldn't finish.

I'll let P type, she seems to want to .....

mj, cyjnnfc fcbmkbkghxbyh

It seems to be a message for you, MammyJo - very informative, I'm sure.

I've put P up on my shoulders to keep her out of the way. Hang on ....... she might puke in my hair.

liath · 30/10/2007 15:46

Try not to fret SOL - easier said than done I know. I wonder if your HV meant coeliac disease but I though that tended to present in older babies.

If it's any help my sister had a very similar experience recently with her ds dropping through centiles and refusing solids. He's eating like a horse now. I'm sure she wouldn't mind chatting about it - she posts on the January thread as 2Happy.

Sexonlegs · 30/10/2007 15:54

Thanks again lovely people. She is never going to be big. I am 5' 6" and 8 stone. I just have a really high metabolism cos I eat like a horse and don't put weight on! I know that it annoys people how slim I am and how little exercise I do but at school, I got picked on terribly - they called me Cambodian or Ethiopian !

Right, off to swimming lessons now so better head. See you later. x

oooggs · 30/10/2007 16:14

sol I was going to sell our powertrack but I use it in the house sometimes for Jack (Erin will sleep in the cot)

2nd hand stuff is cheap - hardly worth the fees

my two will eat most things

PillockOfTheCommunity · 30/10/2007 16:23

looks like P being very clever and talking Welsh to MammyJo there dippy

kneehighinnappies · 30/10/2007 16:28

Hello All,
well I think we all know where my Dr's appointment was going today straight to depression.
I would say it feel's better but I haven't told dh yet, god only know's what he is going to say, he is not the type of person who believes in things like that.
I have to go back next week to get my anti D's if i decide i want them, I think I need them not want them, I just hope they are the miracle cure I am looking for.
I like the fact that the diagnoses for depression comes in the form of a questionaire, lol.

CaptainDippy · 30/10/2007 16:35

{{{{KHIN}}}}} Praying that DH takes the news well sweetheart - we are all here for you. I know lots and lots of people here and on MN in general have suffered from Depression so you are not alone and I am sure there are loads of people you can chat to and ask for support and advice. xx

Yes, Pillock, P is very clever!

Soooo clever in fact, I have plonked her on her playmat in front of some antiques programme to come up here and try and finish the book I should be reading for tutoring tonight. She is being v.demanding and screamy today - starting to really get to me now.

NorthernLurker · 30/10/2007 18:23

Hello ladies and babies - just popping in quickly to catch up. Had v nice weekend with relations in Edinburgh - took girls to the zoo
KHIN- so sorry you're having a hard time - can I also pray things will get easier for you soon?
SOL - looks like your trip to the hv has caused more worry than answers - sympathy for that. Has K tried any finger food? Apologies if you've already said - it's a long long thread to skim through? If you're looking for anything else to try B loves boots rice pudding and it smells so nice I even fancy it

Bugmum · 30/10/2007 19:40

Hi All,
Haven't been on in a very long age, but I do try to skim read from time to time. I think of you all, though: when I had some concerns about G's poo, I thought of SOL; when my mum - to be helpful - straightened out the elastic on several of my shaped nappies so they would dry quicker, thereby ruining them , I thought of Norma, Maveta, Octo and the rest of the nappy nuts. Even the tee-shirts I wear for breastfeeding were recommended by Ellie (I know, Ellie appears to be POC now, but I think that's a horrid name!).

Anyway, I wanted to drop in to say hello and that I hope you and all the babies are fine. I'm having a few problems with DS1 clearly feeling more jealous - 'No squash baby!' he says, while lying on top of G - but overall, I have settled into having two. SOL - I echo what others have said: babies don't read the charts. If K is happy, I am sure she's fine.

KneeHigh - saw your posts about the doc. Hope you don't think I'm butting in, but while I think anti-ds are FAB, they aren't a miracle cure; what they do is to enable the cure from making other changes. If I were you, I would take the anti-ds for sure, and I would also go back to the doc to ask to be referred for (if s/he hasn't already suggested it) some counselling at the very least. My DP is a psychotherapist, and I'm the veteran of a lot of therapy myself (not from him, I hasten to add!), so I do feel I know a bit about it. Hope that doesn't seem pushy, as you probably don't even remember who I am!

Love to all,
Bugmum xx

oooggs · 30/10/2007 19:45

of course we remember you bugmum and how is the lovely Gabriel doing? I have the opposite problems with my ds1 who won't leave the babies alone and is a little bit too loving and protectivce - but you can't always have it perfect - bless them.

Sexonlegs · 30/10/2007 20:02

Hiya loves

Bugmum, how lovely to see you, and pmsl at linking me with poo! I am still as obsessed!! Glad to hear things are going well for you and your 2. x

KHIN, how are you feeling now? How was dh? I really hope you can get help of any kind, whether it be ad's/counselling or both. Massive hugs to you.

CD, cannot believe you have been out digging the garden! You are a mad woman!!

NL, have given K bits of toast and carrot sticks, but she has no idea what to do with them! Quite funny really...

Well, have just looked again at the weight charts, and the numpty HV had put K down as being 30 weeks, whist she is actually 27 1/2 weeks! So, this means that she is still above the 9th centile- which she was 3 weeks ago!!!! Much better. She was on the 25th, so we will still keep an eye on it, but I feel so much happier.

Thank you again you wonderful women for all your support and advice. xx

oooggs · 30/10/2007 20:04

your girls are hardly going to be big sol, there isn't anything to you either.

Bugmum · 30/10/2007 20:16

G is gorgeous, thanks, ooogs (damnit - still can't remember how many os are in your name!): very smiley and amiable, which is just as well, as DS1 is always taking away his toys and so on.

Incidentally, SOL, G dropped centile points and the HVs were talking paeds, but he in fact looks pretty chunky, has taken well (so far) to solids and is a very happy soul - though not a great sleeper, it has to be said, but that's mostly when (as now) he has a cold and the snot goes down the back of his throat. Which understandably he doesn't much care for. Can very easily believe your HV filled the chart in wrong; some HVs are wonderful, but many more know less I think than the combined wisdom on here

Must off to feed my face. I still have a stone to lose (sigh), but I can't motivate myself. I know all I need to do is some exercise and cut out eating DS1's leftovers and biscuits, but it's so hard to find the time to do the first (which I actually enjoy) and the will to do the second.

I'll try to come around more regularly, though it's hard as I'm back at work p/t and I do think logistically two makes it harder. Hats off to oogs and kneehigh (and of course our non-twin mummies of 3+), as I don't see how they have time to have a wee, let alone anything else!

Bye for now,
xx

CaptainDippy · 30/10/2007 20:59

Good to "see" you Bugmum, thanks for popping by to say hello to us all!

I'm done with my tutoring and DH is talking maths with the poor girl now so I'm doing a fww jobs before I hit the hay ....

leakyR · 30/10/2007 21:25

Evening

SOL - glad you spotted hv mistake and you're feeling better. i don't understand why they don't look at you and think "that's why K is a dainty baby"

Nice to see bugmum again and the return of Norma. Cobweb cupcakes and brownies ok for Thursday NB?

Someone wants to view the flat Mercifully it's not until Friday so I've got a couple of days to get things shipshape. Naughtily I'm already imagining myself in the BIG B*£$ARD 3 bedroom house with huge garden we saw on Saturday

Tomorrow we're off to Rhythm Time in the morning, then in the afternoon we're going to a Halloween party in Lancashire. My crazy friend has invited 15-20 kids aged between 1 and 6 for a halloween party.

Off to bed now. Been trying to watch Gordon Ramsay but the effected over use of the f-word is beginning to grate.
