Ditch the shreddies and drink!!!

Lucewitch · 28/10/2007 21:11

off to watch Most Haunted, always worth a laugh when Yvette starts squelling in the dark

GMM, pick the Wispa - you know that you want to

Lucewitch · 28/10/2007 21:12

Like the name GMM!

gorymacmummy · 28/10/2007 21:16

I have been thinking about names for a while - this one came to me at 3am this morning

elkiedee · 28/10/2007 21:17

gmm, surely you can fit in icecream and chocolate?

Sexonlegs · 28/10/2007 21:19

Yeah GMM you lightweight!
Right, off to bed soon as up early for the old school run!

Sleep well babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xx

oooggs · 28/10/2007 21:29

we are on half term this coming week, which doesn't directly affect me as ds1 still goes to nursery but it means a lot of the groups are shut.

mammyjo I have just emailed you

love the name gmm - very good

I have been invited to a chocolate party of wednesday night just up my street

ds1 has a temp and have woken twice so dosed on calpol

dt2 is sleeping like a baby (not that the April babies sleep )

dt1 is also asleep, bless her, but has been very clingy all afternoon

I made burnt flapjack this afternoon with ds1 and it went straight in the bin - same cooking school as you Luce

gorymacmummy · 28/10/2007 21:56

Anyone watching the ewen macgregor programe on bbc 2?

oooggs · 28/10/2007 21:57

nah dh is watching Top Gear of playback

gorymacmummy · 28/10/2007 22:02

they visted the hospice that baby James was at, Ewen is the patron.

Top gear was pretty pants this week - however there was a repeat of the caravan one earlier in the week - hilarious!!!

oooggs · 28/10/2007 22:04

is that where they drop the caravan from a height which is when it travelled at it fastest?

gorymacmummy · 28/10/2007 22:11

No they go on a carvan holiday - JM manages to twat the v=caravan whilst pulling out of a petrol station, they have to perform a u-turn cos they got lost and end up getting stuck - police turned up - they twatted someone elses caravan whilst parking it up then JC "accidently" sets fire to the whole thing whilst cooking chips!

Its on you tube "top gear caravan" part 1 , 2 and 3... if you are interested.

Apologies everyone else for that useles piece of information

liath · 29/10/2007 06:11

Ugh, ds clearly on summertime still - up at 5am and making really loud happy baby screechy noises so woke dd up too. Thank goodness I went to bed early last night.

Hope everyone else had a good night (doubt it, though - these April babies seem determined to break us down...).

Now I need to work out how to entertain a tired toddler but at least it's not half term here so soft play will be quiet.

MurderousMaveta · 29/10/2007 06:33

You sound pretty full on with the busy-ness yourself there Lucewheel! Luckily I am having the whole of december off (wwwooohoooo!) it´s unpaid because there´s no work on and while the money would come in really handy I have to say I am looking forward to it loads. We haven´t really planned anything for xmas but both my sisters and their partners are coming here so I also imagine N will be drowning in gifts. Probably just a couple of small things. dh actually suggested this yr we buy ourselves a new washing machine instead of presents.how depressing is that??! but might happen...(i mean, a new machine would be nice but well, you know..)

Oooggs- poor erin, hope she feels better soon..

Ooh lucewitch I meant to ask - did you get bumgenius? I am a pocket fan too and have been wanting to try them, would you recommend them then? Do you use them at night too? I used to use cloth at night but haven´t for a few months now, he just pees too much for cloth to possibly keep up! Even a disposable weighs about a kilo in the morning

Morning Liath! I feel fine today but we did go to bed at 9.30 last night I swear I go to bed earlier every day.. he still woke several times but we got a few hours at a time so as we well know, it could be worse...

re. weaning - does everyone just start with lunch and then after a while introducee breakfast and tea? We are officially at that point so I need to get some routine sorted. How long do you just give 1 meal before you up it? What do you give for brekkie? Is porridge good?

liath · 29/10/2007 07:12

Morning Maveta,

We went to 2-3 meals a day quite fast as he seemed pretty keen on solids so at the moment he tends to get ready brek with fruit for breakfast, some kind of veg bake thing for lunch then stewed fruit and yoghurt for tea.

leakyR · 29/10/2007 07:32

Morning all. My prediction of a shitty night was correct. G woke again at 11, 12.30. 2am, 3am, 4am 4.45 then at 5.30 he was awake for the day. I feel like all energy has been drained from my body.
DH has selective hearing - at 4.45 he also woke and said "Shall I get him? He'll be due a feed" to which I answered "If you want but he was fed 45 minutes ago and at 2am" I try not to feed him every time he wakes but it's tempting when you're so tired. Have ordered a Baby Whisperer book. DH is just going to have to suffer a few sleepless nights as I can't go on like this. He was probably under 3 months the last time I got more than 2 consecutive hours sleep.

Sorry for all the "mememe" Just knackered

Eddas · 29/10/2007 07:46

Morning everyone v of all the drinks last night, i'm with gmm, a cheeky vimto is very nice, BUT last time I had one I didn't remember anything the next day knocked me out all bar the knocking out as I still carried on just don't remember

I went to Threshers last night for DH and got asked for ID

I have a HUGE list of jobs I could do today but i'm dithering between doing some whilst dd is at preschool or just sitting on my arse I know i'll feel better if some jobs ge ticked off the list so will probably do some, but the chocolate tin(well more like just one choccie bar really) is calling and telling me to have a cuppa, and some choccie and sit and watch te soaps

Eddas · 29/10/2007 07:54

I've put some pictures on my profile of dd as a pink power ranger

weepotion · 29/10/2007 08:54

eddas - she is fab! love the cheesy grin!
maveta - hi to you. we use cloth at night - a classic kooshie with a booster and a prefold! seems ok. we went straight to 3 meals a day. she doesnt manage to get an awful lot at each setting so maybe this way she gets something. this morning she has had porridge pancakes, scrambled egg and plum. lunch is veggie bean burgers and dinner is veggie stew with passion fruit yohurt for afters. the child eats better than i do!

weepotion · 29/10/2007 08:58

leaky - that was a rough night. i dont know what to say really - i dont have C sleeping through either but you have been up alot more. you must be knackered.

leakyR · 29/10/2007 09:36

She's gorgeous Eddas! Lovely grin.

elkiedee · 29/10/2007 10:12

Sorry to hear you had such a rough night Leaky.

Thanks to those who've described what they're giving babies to eat, I'm planning to start D this week but not quite sure exactly how/where/when to start, or what with.

CaptainDippy · 29/10/2007 10:22

Pants to rough night leaky {{{{hugS}}}

Sorry I left you all in the middle of drinks and nibbles, am tutoring english tomrorow and need to get this book finished so I can actually teach the poor child something!!!!

FAB pics, Eddas - loving the , she is so gorgeous! (LOL @ getting ID-ed, I got ID-ed for a kitchen knife just after I got married - I nearly wet myself! )

mammyjo · 29/10/2007 10:30

Morning all. WO, do you cook all of c's food yourself? If you do I am really impressed! She eats better than me too! Would be grateful for any recipes

Eddas, she is so cute in her outfit! Ds has a ninja turtle one, he looks nuts in it, but he absolutely adores it

Leaky, dont know what to suggest, that is the night from hell. Sounds like ds used to be. I would be up every hour of every night It is just so debilitating. Have you already paid for your baby whisperer book? I have one that I would gladly send you xx

Thanks for the email oooggs, havent actually read it yet as I am not being allowed to log in!

Hope everyone else is ok, have a good day all.

Meant to say that mil was ok. Just find it difficult to be nice! And she kept referring to F as "the baby". Jo, the baby is crying, Jo, the baby wants a drink. Does my head in - use her bloody name
