Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
milkyJammy · 26/10/2007 09:21

and morning sputnik

annobal · 26/10/2007 09:23

Hey Clara, if it were me, I'd perservere and get rid of the dummy as it seems to be disrupting his sleep. You'd be surprised as I bet it is just a couple of days and he'll be used to it.

annobal · 26/10/2007 09:24

Morning Sputnik. LOL about lovely sleeping babies - DS3 is here fast asleep now.

Speak later...

Clarabumps · 26/10/2007 09:28

i know it's a minefield really...this trial and error thingy is just plain rubbish though. Sputnik- i dunno what happened to the lovely babies..want to throw a tantrum. I was on a total high yesterday with a full nights sleep and now i feel like i'm back to square one.Paaah!! glad it's not just me though. That thing i downloaded sugguested giving ds a blanket as a comforting sleep association and this is easier to find in the night.Like a velour comforter type thing..so far he seems to be liking that.

Sputnik · 26/10/2007 09:33

So is mine, with a bosom for a pillow

Re your discussion with your dh mj, I have a lovely italian book called "Mothers are always right". It is my parenting bible and very easy to digest as you only need to read the cover

milkyJammy · 26/10/2007 09:40

LOL Sputnik!

dogtanian · 26/10/2007 09:42

Morning!

TBH I think expecting a teeny baby to sleep through the night is a tad ambitious! Stop worrying and just enjoy. Those early morning feeds are a great opportunity for some 1-on-1 bonding and cuddling. It is just you and your baby together whilst the rest of the world sleeps. They are babies for such a short amount of time and the restless nights will pass.

How is everyone?

Sputnik · 26/10/2007 09:48

I agree with you actually Holly but still [yawn]

dogtanian · 26/10/2007 09:54

Yawn indeed !

My dd has been waking in the night as well lately, so double yawn! She soaks through all types of nappy, so wakes up sopping wet. We did have a breakthrough last night though...Bumble stuffed with 2 pre folds with Cotton Bottoms wrap! She couldn't walk properly, but at least she woke up dry!

Have you bought any hippy knits yet sputnik?

milkyJammy · 26/10/2007 09:59

OK peeps, we're off to Rhyme Time

HellHathNoFury · 26/10/2007 10:00

hmmm
I like 1 on 1 time for sure. But can it be during the day?

annobal · 26/10/2007 10:12

Agree with you Holly but I'd settle for once .

annobal · 26/10/2007 10:14

Actually now that Mum and Dad have left, I will have a bit more quiet time so won't be so busy through the day.

How're things Holly?

dogtanian · 26/10/2007 10:18

We are fine thanks, hope you are well. Any news on when the machine is going to be fixed?

Sorry for the short visit, but dd has an eye test in a bit and apparently it can last hours! Luckily my mum is on holiday, so can come with us. I have a bag of fruit and chocolate for some bribery, I hope she behaves herself (dd that is, not my mum)!

TA, hope you are ok too xx

LittleMissNorty · 26/10/2007 10:23

Morning all

Sorry to hear about your broken nights.....I slept shit as well....got DDs cold

Looking after a lively baby feeling like this is horrible

Just changed everything back to the way it was...totally confused me last night that did

LittleMissNorty · 26/10/2007 10:25

Welcome back Annobal

PITA about washing machine! Mine will be looking for a new home in about 3 weeks?

annobal · 26/10/2007 10:31

Just worked out why I feel so shite today - think I might be getting my period. I forgot that it makes you feel so lousy.

annobal · 26/10/2007 10:36

Thanks LMN - washing machine was meant to be fixed yesterday but was definitely not when I put a load on last night. So I will continue to take to the laundrette and send the bills to Your Move...

bumperlicious · 26/10/2007 10:41

Morning all. DH has taken DD to his mother's armed with 2 botles of ebm - yippeeeeeeee! What shall I do with my time?!

Would be better if i wasn't nursing a cracking headache due to lack of sleep for the past two days.

Holly, I know what you mean about the teeny babies but it's when they've gone from sleeping through to waking up it a real shock to the system! DD was great last night actually. Woke up at 5.30 for a feed then straight back to sleep (in her crib! And without her dummy - bonus!) but I couldn't get back to sleep for about 2 hours - damn AD's!

We've started a phased move to her own room. Her crib is now in her room but DH and I are taking it in turns to sleep in with her till she (and we) get used to it. Actually I'm ready for it but DH is not, he has mega reservations and as he pointed out last night, I get my own way on most things, I need to be more sympathetic to how he feels on this one.

Annobal, sorry your parents have gone back, but I guess it must be a little relieving to have you house back and things back to normal.

Hi T - very of the beach weekend! I think I'm getting SAD, I'd love a light box but they cost a fortune!

annobal · 26/10/2007 10:47

Hi Bumper. It is nice to have my own space again. Last time I was on, you were going to give up mn for a while. Glad you didn't stay away too long

HellHathNoFury · 26/10/2007 10:50

Where did Teabag go?

annobal · 26/10/2007 10:53

who's teabag?

Sputnik · 26/10/2007 10:58

Hi Bumper!
Pop a paracetamol and go have fun! Alternativly, go back to bed
That link you posted yesterday wasa interesting, although it does look like we've got a lot more stormy times than sunny ones ahead in the next couple of months.

Holly, I did order some knitwear in the end, the thing that clinched it for me was it's all one size, as I am dteremined not to buy stuff in my current size, which I don't plan to be long [unreealistically hopeful]. I know that doesn't make sense. Anyway, ordered plain black llama free long cardigan and mini skirt. DD and DS instead will be head to toe llamaed up in dress and poncho/hat combo respectively

bumperlicious · 26/10/2007 11:23

Depressing isn't it sputnik!

I think I'm going to have a nice bath. I would like to pop into town and do a bit of shopping but I've no money and I've been good all month so don't want to ruin it now! My full pay stops next month so purse strings will have to be tightened!

milkyJammy · 26/10/2007 12:03

Warning, I am blowing a gasket here with anger at the salaries section of my work - USELESS FECKERS!!!

Yet another month's pay seems to be wrong! That makes the June, July, Aug, Sept and October pays all wrong! I've asked them several times to sort it our AND LET ME KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING but all I keep getting is confusing pay slips.

Like I've got nothing better to do with my time than to keep chasing them to sort it out?
