hello, we're over here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

He was sat on my lap with no nappy on and he did a little fountain on to the computer! It's ok though (I hope)!

I've just done something very cunning! Boots have got 3 for 2 on all their toys. I was going to buy dd an Iggle Piggle toy from there, but they are £35 and I thought that was a bit steep. For the first time ever they actually have them in stock, so I bought 3! 1 for dd and 2 to sell on ebay. They are selling for about £30-35 atm, so I can get back most, if not all, of the money I would have spent on it anyway! Plus I got £7 of Boots points! Result!

DingDongDaisilyOnHigh · 02/11/2007 11:06

oops holly, I'm forgetting about the fountain effect!

I've woken up with a stinking head cold this morning so can't quite work out the maths, but it sounds reasonable.

No idea what to get DD for Christmas. We still have a few of DSs baby toys in my sister's loft. Would it be too awful if we just cleaned them up and wrapped them for DD?

Sputnik · 02/11/2007 11:07

Xmas is 2 months away guys
Bah humbug

DingDongDaisilyOnHigh · 02/11/2007 11:07

they're all in very very good condition as I was a bit obsessive about keeping things clean and shiny five years ago....... oh how the mighty have fallen.

DingDongDaisilyOnHigh · 02/11/2007 11:09

....erm it's only seven weeks on Tuesday ...one pay packet left between now and then!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 02/11/2007 11:10

Recycling toys is a must! Ds will be getting lots of hand me downs!

Bah humbug to you too sputnik! Get in the christmas spirit, it's fun!

I have loads of money in the paypal, so I'm spending it on christmas pressies before I spend it on nappies!

Sputnik · 02/11/2007 11:11

Took DD to school today and it was bloody closed yesterday was a public holiday but today isn't .
So anyway, today is market day so I said to DD "Ok, lets go to the market instead" and she said "We'll buy a new school mummy" [cute]

Sputnik · 02/11/2007 11:16

I might get in the xmas spirit somewhere around mid december. For now you can keep your santa hats and your inflatable reindeer to yourself

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 02/11/2007 11:20

Awww, sputnik your dd is cute. The school sounds a bit shit though. What if you'd have had to go to work?

Sputnik · 02/11/2007 11:27

That's what i wondered. They make it pretty hard for mums to work anyway heree as schools forolder kids finish at 12.30 or 1. Most people have grandparents handy to offload their kids on.

LittleMissNorty · 02/11/2007 11:29

Oh god, it'll probably take me till December to think of a Xmas MN name....really need to get off my fat arse and sort Xmas out.

DD is 5 months old today.....where has the time gone....would it be really wrong of me to feel just a Teeennnnsssyy bit broody?

Next time I'm going to have the full ML allowance....when I go back to work, I going to open a savings account especially for that!

I'm not getting DD anything for Xmas - so that's easy!

DingDongDaisilyOnHigh · 02/11/2007 11:44

what LMN...nothing at all? . DS was about the same age (his birthday being 10 days before DDs) and he loved Christmas. He did get a little bit overwhelmed by it all as we went over the top ever so slightly, pfb and all that, which is why we are reining it in a bit this time......that and we are bloody skint after our holiday.

DingDongDaisilyOnHigh · 02/11/2007 11:46

Oh, and am lolling at Tallulah's "no time to chat"......it was five o'clock in the blardy morning woman!!!

lovely photos and looks like a fab holiday btw

LittleMissNorty · 02/11/2007 12:07

I assumed she wouldn't know what was going on at Xmas...and not having any other DCs thought I'd get away with it this year....Is that not the case then....?

Perhaps a couple of little bits then........don't have to do the stocking though for a couple of years do I?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 02/11/2007 12:32

Well, it's 11 days before I normally start thinking of Christmas, but for you guys I'll join in the fun a little eatly

Swimming was good. She seemed happy in the pool, thogh we didn't stay long because it was cool water. Didn't have the courage to dunk her yet though. She cried when we got out but not surprising, she does that after a bath at home. She's exhausted now though, asleep on my lap.

We're not thinking of getting much for DD at Xmas, as all the rellies will. Maybe a toy or else we'll wrap whatever we'd be buying her anyway about then!

Scroogenik · 02/11/2007 13:36

Well this is going to everyone but we've done 3 xmases so far and not yet actually bought dD a present, she always gets tonnes of stuff from relatives and has never noticed. Isn't it supposed to be from Santa anyway?

annobal · 02/11/2007 13:40

Just popping in and out to say hi. I'm off to the local auction house to try and find a present for DH birthday before school run.

We're a bit the same re Christmas pressies and really limit them. T&G get so much from rellies that they get a bit overwhelmed and don't really appreciate any of it. We limit present openning to 3 a day and (dare I say it, pikey) recycle some of the presents

Catch up this evening

Scroogenik · 02/11/2007 13:41

Xmasrefusenik · 02/11/2007 14:06

Actually, thanks for reminding me to book my flights to UK for xmas

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 02/11/2007 14:11

Have to say I've always been ambivalent about Xmas...but I spose I'm going to have to learn to like it

Seansgirl · 02/11/2007 14:31
