hello, we're over here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
foxystein · 31/10/2007 14:46

I might come to Kingston too!

fairyfay · 31/10/2007 14:49

I'm back as he's gone quiet again, hooray .

Yes yes yes foxy definitely come and meet us too, and anyone else who can get here - I think one of the Newbies (elsbels or Teabag?) didn't live too far away.

IamDaisy · 31/10/2007 14:50

I like the ooze slime and pus foxy

You know the thought of making home made natural jelly just never ocurred to me It's dayglo cubes all the way here. I got some little plastic skeletons that I've shoved in the bottom and I was going to put some jelly letters in spelling boo, so thanks for the heads up on the melting laces.

I bought some cheap dressing up outfits too, but couldn't find anything for DD. I was tempted by a devil's cloak for a little dog (don't ask!), but realised before I paid for it that the arm holes would be in kind of the wrong place . Will modify something old of DSs for her I think!

I bought some salsa and guac dip.......guts and pus (?) and some blood orage juice, and some green orange and red veg for dipping.....I was only in the local co-op so a bit lacking in their range!

DD has been growling like a zombie all day so she's obv. getting into character!

LittleMissNorty · 31/10/2007 14:54

Ohh all your halloween ideas are fab! Never used to do anything like this when we were kids!!

So Foxy....how do you make proper jelly then? I only use the artifical cubes as well (and eat them as they are sometimes...

Have good parties everyone!

IamDaisy · 31/10/2007 14:56

I couldn't get a pumpkin ....all sold out in the co-op. DS will be gutted unless I do a dash to JS after school!

Have fun andiem...I've only got my two to deal with, but we're having a bonfire party at the weekend for DS and his mates and some of our friends!

DKMA · 31/10/2007 15:22

Happy halloween ladies!

Sorry I've been awol for a bit - been busy doin stuff - you know how it is!

Just finished feeding the little fella advocado he loves it - just a bit messy cos he loves grabbing it with his fingers! Just had to wipe him down (it was up his nose!)

Sounds like you lot are in for a fun night!

I'm going to dash to the shops when lo has had his nap and get some stuff for trick or treaters - what should I get? Sweeties seem a bit rubbish - and I'll eat them all myself!

SputnikonaBroomstick · 31/10/2007 15:41

Happy Halloween
Saw your pics of DS in the pumpkin suit DKMA, sounds like you're really getting into the spirit

DKMA · 31/10/2007 15:52

I don't think he'll ever forgive me Sputnik!
He was not amused at what he was wearing!!

SputnikonaBroomstick · 31/10/2007 15:59

What's the point in having babies if you can't mak theem look ridiculous once in a while?

IamDaisy · 31/10/2007 16:02

The party's off

DS was warned that he had to be on his best behaviour or there would be no tea party. I was called in to talk to his teacher when I collected him as he had bitten another child so hard that he actually broke the skin .

skeleton jelly anyone?

trace2 · 31/10/2007 16:04

IamDaisy · 31/10/2007 16:11

hi trace, I hope she's OK. I would give her some calpol just now as a precautionary measure.

You're very brave going out tonight. It's bloody miserable weather here so I assume it's not much better where you are!

Enjoy

IamDaisy · 31/10/2007 16:23

sorry DKMA...I didn't mean to ignore you ...I suppose it's cos I "talked" to you on facebook

Welcome back to the fold

annobal · 31/10/2007 16:26

Am leaving Halloween to babysitter and heading off out. he he he

Daisy. Sorry about DS.

Would love to come to Kingston and have to go to Richmond next week at some stage but can't do Friday. If you decide on another day, I'll definitely come

trace2 · 31/10/2007 16:26

hi daisy! about the weather, its not raining here yet is it at ours cos if it is it will be here soon

IamDaisy · 31/10/2007 16:32

not raining yet, but cold and windy with very grey skies!

LittleMissNorty · 31/10/2007 16:33

Oh Daisy about DS.....what is it about kids....they always spoil it for themselves....I see this so often with my sisters lot....

Have you relented?

Hope they give you a nice quiet relaxing evening....have a glass or two...

trace2 · 31/10/2007 16:34

yes we have wind and grey skys too, but we meeting his friends from school we jave no kids on our street

BadZelda · 31/10/2007 17:00

Hi DKMA

Our street is kid central - looking forward to when mine are old enough. I used to love taking my little brother. But then I grew up in Dublin in the seventies - seems like it was always bigger there?

milkyJammy · 31/10/2007 17:06

Aw, Daisy. Shame after all your hard work. But if your DS knwe the party was conditional on good behaviour...

Trace, I should have said before nice to see you here again. We didn't really get a chance to get to know each other in the early days and sorry if I seem to have been ignoring you.

Coming back from my work, waiting at the bus stop I saw a woman who I used to get the bus with a lot. Was pretty today when she didn't even ask whether I'd had a boy or girl (haven't seen her since I went on ML) or feign any interest, despite me actually having DD with me. When I said we'd been into my work she asked if I'd taken "it" with me .

LittleMissNorty · 31/10/2007 17:14

Some people are odd aren't they MJ....I went into work today and someone said isn't he lovely......she was dressed in a pair of brown velour trackies and a blue and brown smock top....not pink but definitely girlie....

How did the JAQ go? How long do you have to wait till results? Did you sort out salaries and wages while you were there?

Have to say DD behaved perfectly at work, laughing and grinning at everyone....they all think I have a perfect DD....if only they knew

Well off now to spend a bit of time with her singing (her favourite pastime atm) and ignore all the knocks on my door.....call me a miserable cow but I hate trick or treating!

milkyJammy · 31/10/2007 17:23

It went well, but wasn't what I'd expected. It wasn't an interview where I was asked questions, but where they gave me advice on how better to fill in my questionnaire, to hopefully get me a better score in the final analysis. Won't get any answers until new year.

HR were as useless as a chocolate chastity belt. Hadn't got any answers about my pay. Told me it would "probably" be OK for me to return on Jan 7th and take 4 weeks' holiday straight away. And when I asked if they had chased my pension enquiries for me (I've been asking 2 questions since April/May time, and have got no answers, one of which it is prob too late now anyway ) they gave me a phone no and email address and said I should ask these people! FFS! When I said I thought they ought to ask fpr me, seeing as I'm on leave and have other things to do, she just gave me the bit of paper and said "Here, give this a go"

milkyJammy · 31/10/2007 17:26

But DD was really good through the interview, sat playing quietly with her caterpillar for most of it, then on my lap, smiling away, and only drooled a very little bit on the very expensive board table

justbeme · 31/10/2007 17:57

some people are so self centred arent they jammy?? i hate it when people say "it".

for all your hard work daisy and naughty ds - why do children do that??? notice i use the word children as they all do it not just mystic naughty ranger or whatever!!!!

pumpkin soup is a simmering - any 1 had any little shits kids round trick or treating yet?? (im not a fan either lmn - having had eggs and dog poo on my house/car)
i just remembered that tonight and this weekend is the busiest time of year as every one phones up to complain about yobs!! ahhhhh wish this maternity leave could go on and on......

milkyJammy · 31/10/2007 18:04

No T or T visitors here yet JBM. Have a bowl of sweets ready though - but they only get any if they are dressed up (and have to have made some actual effort, not just stuck on a stupid hat or something) and are not rude. We normally get one or two groups of visitors, and since we've lived here they have all been very polite and said thank you for their sweets.

Not sure what I think about T or T. Don't think I'll be taking DD when she's old enough, apart maybe on a pre-arranged visit to close neighbours. But think it is a good chance to have fun and let children use their imaginations, so will probably do a party or something instead.
