Hi all!
Started a swimming class with L today - good fun, but boy are we both knackered!
Its good for the mums legs as you have to squat and walk up and down the pool - i felt ancient when i got out!!

Then 5 of us went for lunch which was nice!!

Not sure how all this sleep that L has done since is going to impact on tonight though!

milkyJammy · 29/10/2007 17:45

JBM, hope tonight's sleep will be OK. I've known mine sleep hours during day and still be ok at night, so you could be alright.

IamDaisy · 29/10/2007 20:44

Good evening....is there anybody there?

For those of you with dummy worries

I went to Leeds Market today when I was in town whilst DH was doing whatever he needed to do. Typical market....lots of dodgy mobile phone shops, cheap clothes stalls, household products etc etc, and lots of naff jewellers. I looked in one thinking they would have the sort of stud earrings I was after and I was horrified/fascinated/revulsed in equal measure to see that they had some baby dummies in the display......regular cherry type soothers with latex teats, plastic faceplate (for want of a better word), but the ring/handle was solid gold . they cost about £300 and were totally vile. I was trying to surreptitiously take a photo with my mobile phone, but the lady was giving me very funny looks!

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 20:46

It's eerily quiet on here at the moment, is everyone off enjoying themselves and having a RL? Oh well, I shall just have to talk to myself.

DH sloped off with his mate to 'help him put a crib together' about an hour ago - the crib is fully assmebled apart from 2 bolts (i know this as it is our crib!). Me thinks he may have gone to the pub. Ho hum

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 20:47

x post Daisy - yeah there is someone here! Gold dummies , now I've heard it all - bleugh!

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 20:48

Those other dummies are horrific too

IamDaisy · 29/10/2007 20:54

My DH has gone back to the land of brocolli. I'm sad as we had such a lovely couple of weeks, but happy that I don't have to talk to anyone after the kids are in bed. This socialising malarkey is too much like hard work!

DD has been very pukey all day today. Not lots but every time she has fed some has come back up. Her nappies have been very dry as well . not sure whether or not I should be worried.

DS had to come home early from school today. He tripped up and face planted in the playground at afternoon break and has a huuuge egg on his forehead with the pattern of the tarmac in it, poor love. He was feeling sick and dizzy so they sent him home. He seems allright now though, but it looks like a worrying, sleepless night for me!

milkyJammy · 29/10/2007 20:55

Evening. I've been busy making birthday cards for MIL, a cousin and a friend. I'm finding it a bit more difficult to keep making cards now we've got LO to look after, but have managed it so far, though think will have to revert to buying (charity) cards at Xmas rather than making my own.

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 20:56

that DH back at work and for 'eggy' DS. Is it sore?

Where is 'the land of brocolli'?

milkyJammy · 29/10/2007 20:57

I've heard there's a nasty vomiting bug going round Daisy, certainly in Leicester and Lincoln. Was meant to be visited be an old friend and her DS tomorrow, but she rang today to say he was sick with this bug so they might not make it

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 20:59

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about LO as long as she is keeping some down each feed, but if it continues tomorrow then maybe think again. Dehydration is obviously not a good idea in babies. My DS has days when he brings a little milk back after very feed and others when he keeps it all in

Jammy - I'm impressed that you've had time to do any at all with LO

milkyJammy · 29/10/2007 21:02

FF, I actually managed to make thank you cards for the delivering midwife, the ward staff and the SCBU staff to take in a week after her birth.

IamDaisy · 29/10/2007 22:13

blardy MN crashed and wouldn't load there, so I've put some pics on facebook from our hols.

Fay...DS's head isn't that bad. I gave him some calpol before bed as he was complaining that it hurt when he smiled.

I had a bug on holiday, so maybe DD has that. she isn't vomitting copious amounts, but it is certainly more forceful than usual. I thought it was maybe a reaction to/comment on my homemade carrot, swede and apple mash . I'm going to clinic tomorrow, so I'll get them to check her out.

I've just been catching up on all the new photos....they are all sooo lovely. Jammy, your pics are fab. Is it just a hobby for you? if so, you should do some professional stuff. What camwera do you use? The macro shots of flowers/leaves/butterflies are very well done!

IamDaisy · 29/10/2007 22:16

jamantha, am impressed with your card making. I made all my wedding invitations etc (as a single parent with a full time job????), and used to make cards for everyone/all occasions, but I just don't have the time (or the inclination ) these days. Maybe a few less hours on MN

LittleMissNorty · 30/10/2007 08:16

Morning all Had a much better night and feel a bit more with it today.....hope you are all well today?

Daisy, your pics are fab - looks like you had a really good time and is obviously the place to go when you're 5 years old!!

Got 7m of kitchen worktop being delivered today and I'm expected to help get it off the lorry - that should be a laugh ....the miserable cow on the phone said "well if you don't help, it stays on the lorry".....FFS I've paid £40 for this delivery (as well as £600 for the farking order) and I have to unload the farking stuff myself cos they send out their delivery men single handed....trouble is, it took so long to choose I couldn't face starting again otherwise I would have told her where to poke it! Wait till he sees what a weak woman I am .....he'll probably turn up right as I'm feeding DD or something as well....

milkyJammy · 30/10/2007 08:16

Morning all.

Thanks Daisy for your kind comments on my pics. It's just a hobby for me at the moment, though I've been thinking I might try to sell some. I've dot a digital SLR, the Nikon D50, which is great. DH was so impressed he bought one too, so we look a bit sad now when we go out together.

Didn't have a good night, sleep wise. DD woke at 4, but was wet through to her sleeping bag, so the whole lot had to come off and be changed. (We'd tried one of our new bumhugger nappies for the first time and found that the small wraps we had wouldn't fit over it, so had tried a big one, but that was too big and therefore wasn't snug round the legs so leaked. Will try to get an intermediate size today). Then she woke again at 5.30 for a feed, and again at 6, wet. Then wouldn't go back to sleep in cot, so came into our bed, and I was woken at 7.20 by the sound of her having a big, wet, poo. Nice!

milkyJammy · 30/10/2007 08:19

LMN, that's CRAP! £40 delivery seems quite steep, so would of thought they could do it properly.

LittleMissNorty · 30/10/2007 08:25

Morning MJ - oh dear....your night doesn't sound too good....LOL though at the big wet poo!

Glad its not just us who think that this worktop delivery is shit - thought I may be being unreasonable! DH very but what can you do? He doesn't get paid if he doesn't go to work so it remains to be seen if I am capable of lifting a 4m and 3m length of worktop without doing my back in!

annobal · 30/10/2007 08:41

LMN that's crap. Hopefully you get a nice, strong delivery driver who can do it all himself.

What a lovely day. We're off to the park when Ben 10 is over. Anyone else's los into Ben 10? It is the latest craze in our house and has even overtaken spiderman and transformers .

LittleMissNorty · 30/10/2007 09:49

No chance! It came on a lorry with no tail-lift and 1 (quite old - in his 50's) bloke who took one look at me and asked if there was anyone to help - I said, yeah me ....according to the paperwork, the heaviest item was the 4m length at 63kg - farking heavy....but I done it!

when the appliances and the kitchen come, I shall stand back and watch!

At least it came early...I can go out now

andiem · 30/10/2007 09:50

morning all
LMN defintely not unreasonable about the work top what if you were 80 or disabled

had a better night last night as well lo awake at 11 3 and 5 and then back till 6.30 so feel a bit more rested am determined to do exclusive bf till 6 months but not sure I can cope if the last couple of weeks are what the nights are going to be like

daisy hope ds is better today

am decorating playroom for halloween as ds is having 5 friends round for a halloween tea
off to get a pumpkin for carving

andiem · 30/10/2007 09:51

weel done LMN am impressed
makes note not to meet LMN in alley on dark night when she is looking for a fight

HellHathNoFury · 30/10/2007 10:24

I couldn't get on MN last night as my broadband died, I think a lot of people had the same problem which might have explained why it was quiet!
Either that or everyone has a RL.

I do miss people actually! It's so quiet on here I am beginning to feel like I should be out here investigating RL opportunities as well.

But it's a shame as I love chatting with everyone on here and I feel sad it's always so quiet now

We have gone from sharing stories of mucous to disappearing

milkyJammy · 30/10/2007 10:24

DH has finally got the pictures off his phone from when DD was born (we didn't have a camera with us so MW kindly let him put phone on for a moment to get a pic). One of them I hadn't seen at all, the other only for a moment on his phone (ie very small). I am now gobsmacked and sitting here crying a little. She's lying on my chest, and particularly against my pale skin she looks incredibly red. I can't believe we didn't notice it at the time, but I guess we were just so amazed to have a baby girl.

HellHathNoFury · 30/10/2007 10:26

I sent a couple of emails/facebook messages to people as well with no reply.
sigh
