hello, we're over here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
IwansMam · 29/10/2007 12:44

Done that too. I'm on a roll . Will spoil DPs fun of sending one lot of junk mail to someone else in thei pre-paid envelopes.

IwansMam · 29/10/2007 12:45

their

IwansMam · 29/10/2007 12:45

MJ - I'm impressed with the success rate.

milkyJammy · 29/10/2007 13:09

And now if we do get a cold caller, we just say "did you know that we're registered..." and before we can finish they are apologising - they can get fined for calling us you see!

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 15:15

heloooooo anyone around? DD has just climbed out of her cot for the first time, damn. Anyone have any tips to persuade her to stay in it as I don't really want her in a bed quite yet?

milkyJammy · 29/10/2007 15:29

hi Fay. Sorry, can't help with the cot problem though

andiem · 29/10/2007 15:34

sleeping bag in day???

HellHathNoFury · 29/10/2007 15:42

hello

I have been playing with facebook, you can set up a page for your LO's. I am obviously not busy enough.

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 15:47

Thanks Andiem, she's refused to go in a grobag since 18 months but I could try getting her one of those readybeds for the daytime, I hadn't thought of that.

Hi Jammy

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 15:47

Hi Fury, now that's tempting but I spend far too much time online as it is so probably best not

HellHathNoFury · 29/10/2007 15:50

pah! Silly excuse!

I also spend far too much time online but don't have a choice. What I would much rather be doing is sleeping since DS thinks that 4am-5am is play time.

HellHathNoFury · 29/10/2007 15:51

Dh and I are thinking of taking the day off sick but leaving DS with the CM so we can sleep all day

It'll never happen though. I'd miss him. But it's a nice thought and one I hang on to in the throes of 4.30am giggles and incoherent stories.

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 15:52

True, but at least you are being paid to surf. I am going mad watching Peppa Pig, for the millionth time

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 15:53

4:30 is rather excessively early!

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 15:56

A duvet-day does sound like absolute bliss

HellHathNoFury · 29/10/2007 15:59

he just wakes up - doesn't want milk, just wants to chat

grrrrrrr

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 16:08

Bugger, that's really annoying. What does he do if you ignore him?

HellHathNoFury · 29/10/2007 16:09

scream.

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 16:11

Ah, that's not good. DS has done it a few times but if we leave him to cr for a couple of minutes and then dummy him then he usually goes back to sleep. Sounds like your little man wants to start the day though

LittleMissNorty · 29/10/2007 16:13

I was just going to suggest the ignoring bit - that's what I do and DD just talks to herself in the dark...I turn the monitor off ....but if he screams, not an option for you.

God I'm knackered....DD just gone to sleep...wish I could....

TA - could get the profile thing to work for me - kept crashing so have given up for now!

LittleMissNorty · 29/10/2007 16:14

couldn't I mean........told you I was tired!

milkyJammy · 29/10/2007 16:22

Arse. My baby proof necklace just broke (DD pulling on it) and beads spilt all over, so had to hoover which she hates. Have only just calmed her down again. And friend might not be visiting tomorrow as her DS sick They had to call off last week too

HellHathNoFury · 29/10/2007 16:23

hmmm FF will definately try the dummy thing if he does it again. I cannot allow this to become a habit!!

fairyfay · 29/10/2007 16:27

I'd say it's worth a try as you really can't keep going with those hours for very long without being completely exhausted. Letting him cry for 2 or 3 minutes seems to work for Oliver. Not sure if he gets tired or if he is just so relieved to get his dummy back that he gives in and goes to sleep. The other thing we do is not speak to him in the night if at all possible, just give him a stroke on his head and his dummy.

LittleMissNorty · 29/10/2007 16:56

I agree FF with the not speaking bit......I funble about in the dark looking for the dummy....then fumble about in the dark looking for her mouth and she's so relieved to get it back, she drops off again
