HA! Broom up my ar** definitely needed here for more than one reason!

And speaking of baking cakes.

This is one for all the men haters amongst us right now, wait for it.

Made a carrot cake last night, which btw was absolutely delish, a bit too delish. So much so that had a sampler for breakfast this morning and gave a tiny bit to DS1.

DS1 then proceded to puke all over said cake.

DP got a slice when he got home from work and said it tasted fab .

Right have toughened up with myself on the bf issue.

Here are the reasons I am trying to "convince" myself with.

  • Will be able to buy half decent bra's. Will be able to go out by Xmas and not gives a rats *se about drinking way too much.
  • Will no longer look like dolly parton.
  • Will inevitably look slimmer and not look so top heavy all the time.
  • Will make going back to work easier.
  • T sleeping better at night and not waking for the magic boobie human dummy.
  • Will not wince every time DS1 decides to torpedo land on me.

I think that about covers it. (But will still miss it).

Pinions · 24/10/2007 18:21

x posted NL you are totally right, definitely all or nothing kind of person. And am worried that if I carry on will slip back into feeding etc.

BUT would definitely recommend gradually doing it.....because it BLOODY KILLS!!!!!!!

Pinions · 24/10/2007 18:24

And SMB, yes will be returning to hell hole work after Xmas, but also want to be able to actually Xmas this year. xx

CaptainDippy · 24/10/2007 18:26

Baaaaaaaaaaa! Mooooooooo! Onik!

Farm was good, am shattered now -

Yes, do elaborate Pinions hon - think NL's suggestion of still doing a BF or 2 at a convienient time for you is good option - best of both worlds and all that ...... Just to warn you - you could still have milk in 2/3 months time, is possible - so don't be too surprised. {{{hugs}}}

What have people been up to today??

LOL @ SOL's suggestion of the broom up your bum!

CaptainDippy · 24/10/2007 18:28

Good reasons, Pinions - go for it - do it slowly though, imho, "Cold Turkey" doesn't do too well.

I want to BF forever, but P is getting less and less interested.

Pinions · 24/10/2007 18:29

OMG dippy really???

Shows how much I know. Does that mean I could just do a night feed then, what worries me is that if I do that it will turn into all night feeding, then a morning one too, then seeing as though I am doing that I may aswell slip in a sneaky 3 pm one too, ykwim?

Boobs are killing, does not feel healthy whatsoever......

POTC · 24/10/2007 18:42

Pinions - I have dropped some of Joe's feeds, he rarely feeds between 7am and 5pm anymore, and if he does it tends to be ff at nursery. I fully intend to carry on giving him the nighttime feed for a long time to come, and think it is definately possible

Well says she of iron strong will.

Have just boobied t on Dippys and NL's instruction , am going to very strictly reserve booby to bedtime feed only from hereonin, fingers crossed x Very sound advice girls, thank you.

elkiedee · 24/10/2007 18:45

I'm here but D's back in his pre-bedtime grizzly mode, and we're about to start on the process of settling him.

I'm not down in the way I was, but I feel anxious about going to see the hv tomorrow. I'm also a bit bored and am finding the grizzling tough going.

Pinions, hope the pain eases off. CD's suggestion sounds like a good one, but also, have you tried expressing?

Pinions · 24/10/2007 18:45

x posted POTC. Bedtime only I think. Never thought I would feel this way .

elkiedee · 24/10/2007 18:46

X post there, hope things sort themselves out anyway

POTC · 24/10/2007 18:46

are you going all soft on me? you'll be giving me hugs next

OP posts:
POTC · 24/10/2007 18:47

elkie, sadly expressing whilst trying to give up bf just makes the engorgment worse, as it stimulates your body to make more

OP posts:
Pinions · 24/10/2007 18:48

Soft I know , what could be worse .

And no to hugs, yes to kisses (xxxxxxxx).

MWAH.

NorthernLurker · 24/10/2007 18:50

Oh Pinions am overwhelmed with feelings of responsibility now But honestly I think a bedtime feed could work well with your situation and if nothing else will ease your pain!

Pinions · 24/10/2007 18:55

You're right NL, bedtime only. Cor the power of the MN ladies eh.

And am sure magic booby milk has got some unknown ingredient cos is now hysterical . He looked like all his xmas's had come at once,

NorthernLurker · 24/10/2007 19:01

Oh bless!
I certainly find feeding makes me sleepy....and hungry. Wispa bars r us!

Pinions · 24/10/2007 19:03

Lol wispa's........no good for the diet no...........

NorthernLurker · 24/10/2007 19:04

I'm a bit worried about how many I may have eaten actually - keep buying them for dh but when he goes to get one from tin - they are gone - so then I buy more - ooops

Pinions · 24/10/2007 19:09

Forgot to say Elkie good luck tomorrow for hv, as others have said listen to what they have to say, then smile sweetly and stick two fingers up when they have gone.

Right, considering going to Morrisons for their two for one pumpkins.

And if they are from the tin NL I am presuming they are the mini ones??

Cor grins all over the place. How on earth am I ever gonna give up this bf malarkey . Oh well.

NorthernLurker · 24/10/2007 19:14

Errrrrm it's a big tin!

Pinions I'm sure there is a good carry on film style joke to made from your trying to give up b/feeding chest area and two for one pumpkins but I just can't make the step - not the spiritual heir to Sid James then

Off to do bathtime now ( before someone throws me out)

Pinions · 24/10/2007 19:17

Now there's a challenge!

Pinions · 24/10/2007 19:19

Hmmmmmmmmmmm thread title ????

Pinions · 24/10/2007 19:34

Or maybe not then.

Right off to Morritts .

NorthernLurker · 24/10/2007 19:57

Well I think that if we go for 'april 2007 - get your 2 for 1 pumpkins here' the rest of mumsnet will think we're all up the duff again.....
