Lizz - I'll play. Invite me.

Feeling better - downed some Collis Browne (medicine my mum used to give us when we were little) and I feel loads less queasy!! Whoo.

J TOOK HIS FIRST UNAIDED STEPS TODAY. It was so cute, he was stood at the fridge and DH and I bent down near him and held out our arms and he took a wobbly step uncertainly towards us, grinned and then sat down. So adorable!!!!

He then trapped his finger in the kitchen door so am gonna have to baby proof the house properly now!

katwith3kittens · 19/10/2007 20:06

Aaaah Wilke how cute .... you'll remember that moment for the rest of your life !

Well it seems to be the season for illnesses right now, hope everybody is feeling well again soon.

I think I'm being outed as a troll on the AIBU thread it really is quite funny as I genuinely didnt expect to be bombarded with such a response. Take a look for yourselves, but pleeeease dont add you think IABU even if you think I am !

The funniest thing was I went to a coffee morning today and there were rice cakes ... I nearly choked, I thought one of them must have read the thread so I kind of said 'ummmm lovely rice cakes ...' but nobody batted an eyelid ! I've given up reading it now as the majority think I'm nuts, but I might post again later if the mood catches me He He.

So anybody else made the home page yet ????? ..........

Have a lovely weekend all.

WeeWitchyWilkie · 19/10/2007 21:30

Which thread - confused?? Link please

katwith3kittens · 19/10/2007 21:36

Oh I'm crap at this ...rice cakes

WeeWitchyWilkie · 19/10/2007 21:37

Ahhhhh Kat just found it. Made me PMSL. I'm afraid I don't agree but the thread was very funny to read. And you took it in good humour which makes you all the more loveable.

And......I noticed that you got onto Mumsnet Roundup Email this week!

You are FAMOUS

I got onto home page a few months ago - felt very proud

katwith3kittens · 19/10/2007 22:00

OH GOD ... NOT AGAIN ... might have to name change soon !

DH has been working away this week and I've been bored (cant you tell}can't wait till he gets back to show him

theUrbanDevil · 20/10/2007 09:09

katw3 - absolutely pmsl at that thread!! i'm not an NCT member for fear that i wouldn't fit in, but am roffling at some of the faux pas that are being admitted to on there! serving wine at an NCT lunch!

Zac had us up at 4 this morning - really need to find a solution to this as i'm getting sick with tiredness. was running a fever and feeling very nauseous last night off to post in sleep topic now...

RGEEnie · 20/10/2007 11:25

Quick post, no time to read but will catch up later.

Had to quickly say that lo is CRAWLING (yeah, I know, ten years later and all that!!). But she has gone from bum shuffle to hooning about the place overnight. Very strange to hear this pad pad pad behind me and have a cling-on looking up at me grinning

Snap pcf am very bored dh had kids this morning as I was knackered form getting up with hattie (seems to be 2 or 3 times a night sometimes just giving her a dummy owrks otehr times shes needed milk but its blimmin tiring) I went back to bed from 11 to 12.30 to catch up but dh woke me up so he could go to football house was a tip no lunch made for either of them and he dint go to tescos to get the stuff I needed to make lunch so wish I had stayed awake.

Sorted it by taking e and h to tescos for lunch (ellie had kids sandwich meal and hattie was forcefed a jar much to her digust) did shopping and then went to eddas house for a couple of hours (her dh and my dh play football together)

DH going ot watch rugby tonight (well staying in but has stocked fridge up with beer) so I'll be on here and also trying to find a nice 4/5 star half board hotel on half board basis in tenerife/gran canaria for my mum and dad to go to in november for my dads 60th birthday laughalot any suggestions.

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 20/10/2007 17:15

Hello.

Congrats on the crawling, RGee.
Lol, KW3 on your notoriety! I like the suggestion on the thread that you should take your own snack...like they'd be happy to eat a rice cake while all others around are eating biscuits! Ha ha! dh's boss always gives ds1 a biccie if he goes into work, so much so if you ask ds1 what a vet does for a living he answers "eats choccie biccies"

Nothing to say. Again.

Well there was carnage in the Wilkie Fish Tank today. S Club 7 were introduced along with Eric. Eric settled in well and started munching on the bog wood. S Club 7 were immediately pursued and eaten alive by Derek, Tracey, Sharon and Joan. It was horrific. Literally 10 minutes and S Club7 were dead. Awful Now have little corpses floating about in my tank that am gonna have to 'fish' out. Nice. Am getting a refund!!!!!

RGee - whoooooo!!! Knew she would get there.

susiecutiebananas · 20/10/2007 18:28

Hi, i ve not posted before in this particualr thread, but I had my DD in jaunary too.

she has just started to crawl this week too, i'm so pleased as she spent 12 weeks in a hip harness and was set back quite abit on sitting, turning etc...

Still never had more than 3 hours sleep in one go!

I was attraccted to the thread title... I am also suddenly REALLY bloody broody! god knows why, i had a horrendous pregnancy with a prolapsed disc and still having terible probs wiith it! but I really really want another one...

hoping it'll get a bit less soon... we've talked about it in a couple of years... seems along way away!

sorry to butt in...

also, sorry to read about your fish! how horrible. Apparently some 'breeds' ( cant htink if the word) fish are predatory, and some not... sounds like Eric might be.. norty eric.

susiecutiebananas · 20/10/2007 18:34

oh, i'm also pretty isolated due to poor mobility at the moment so have not made many RL mum friends. this is the nearest i have to that.. sad hey

didnt manage to get to antenatal also due to my back...

hope your DC;s are all doing well. what a grogeous cute age the are hey?

Isobel started waving this week and definitely saying ba -ba at the same time. every time. I am truly amazed. She also learned how tp clap a couple of weeks ago, and now claps everything

WeeWitchyWilkie · 20/10/2007 18:39

Welcome Susie. I have to ask, who told you your bananas were cute??

I'm just off for my tea but wanted to say welcome. Am still trying to get over the horrendous images from the fish tank massacre.

Back later.....................

susiecutiebananas · 20/10/2007 18:45

thank you for your welcome, really really appreciated
long story about the bananas... it was on here somewhere... i was just a cute susie for a while

eandh · 20/10/2007 18:53

Welcome susie, seems like you have ad a tough year and a half!! Isobel is a gorgeous name (was on our list for dd1!)

Wilkie - maybe your fish were practcing for halloween??

Peace in the eandh house after both ellie and hattie finding strictly come dancing highly entertaining (ellie making dh dance and hattie standing at the coffee table bouncing to the beat) they have both gone to bed

dh ordered chinese (mm its weigh in on monday whoops!) should be here around 7.15 and tehre is loads of dishes (yum yum)

Il's invited us for dinner tomorrow along with sil and family so ellie very happy as she gets to harrass her cousins all afternoon and hattie will be smothered with attention plus I won't have to cook.

Not much else going on in our house (well till 3am when hattie thinks its getting up time) does anyone know is it next week clocks change (eeek what time will I be getting up then?)

theUrbanDevil · 20/10/2007 18:59

hi Susie - welcome! sorry to hear about your prolapsed disc, sounds horrible! my ds (Zac) also claps and waves although he's a bit temperamental with it, he usually waves bye bye to granny as soon as their backs are turned! he hi-5's quite well, i'm trying to teach him how to say, "I like your style," so he sounds like Borat!!

i've had a few replies about the sleep thing on LJ, mostly people are saying it's a phase, but i want sleep now! we went to look at playpens today, thinking that when he woke up we could put him in there to play and get back to sleep but the cheapest one we found was 70 quid, so we won't be doing that. bugger.

Wilkie - maybe you should try recreating the fish tank massacre and filming it, then you could make a movie and call it "The Lincoln Fish Tank Massacre". you could make millions.

ooh ooh, Zacky's little trainers arrived today (the ones dh said were chavvy) and they're soooooooo cute! and my new sling got here too, so i've taken pics of both items and will post them on my profile later!

susiecutiebananas · 20/10/2007 19:15

thanks both of you

yes it has been a shockingly horrible year and half. and at the moment doesnt seem to be getting much better, with my back...

If any one discovers the secret for isoblel sleeping, i will love you eternally.

She also high fives, but not sure where she got it from...

will pop back in a while... just putting her to bed now.

thanks for the welcome... like i say, really appreciated!

eandh · 20/10/2007 19:19

well i can get hattie to sleep from 6.30 to 3am then it goes wrong in this house!

RGEEnie · 20/10/2007 19:46

Welcome Susie. I lurve banans!

Wilkie I am bad. I giggled at the thought of floating fish corpses (In my defence m'lud I think it was their name 'SC7' that I was sniggering at...but I can't honestly be sure)

2H - love the definition of a vet!

Eah I am v concerned about clocks going back and everyone up at 5am. Yawn...You found a holiday yet?

UD I finally finally bought some shoes for lo yesterday. They're very girly and so I can't imagine her wearing them v much.

Need to buy a hat (and mittens) that she can't pull off. Anyone got a recommendation?

Had a lovely day today. DH went for a run early doors, but came back early cos he's gone over on his ankle and it ahs swollen to a ridiculous size. Anyway, I had little sympathy so after making him a cuppa and letting him put his feet up for half an hour, I dragged him out for lunch at a v nice restaurant a 2 mile walk away (just to test his ankle ). He managed to hobble there fine, but the walk back was easier cos we had a bottle of vino. Lo was v well behaved munching on bread and titbits. Came home via the swings which she is truly loving at the minute.

Rugby on soon - like I care. DH has a beer and is having 20 mins on his new XBox game before it starts. Yawn.

RGEEnie · 20/10/2007 19:50

What is it with sleeping at the minute? I have been v fortunate and lo sleeps well (bit like her mother), but this last few weeks about 3 nights a week we are woken up in the middle of the night by her crying in her sleep. She just needs someone to go in and shush her back to sleep but I don't know what is going on.

I almost slept through her cries at 3.45am this morning and only woke when DH opened our bedroom door

eandh · 20/10/2007 20:21

i am hoping the cries/waking are teeth and normal service resumes soon

now do i sit here and flick about on mn or do the ironing so its done?

rgee found 5 holidays rang my mum (who has the brochures) and they are peruasing the brochure and will let me know jealous moi never!!!
