Welcome Susiecutie. Hope you enjoy the chat on here- we do it alot!

Kat- I was suprised at our toddler group that biscuits were offered. I dont so much have a problem with it but when he is just as happy with an apple, rasins or rice cake (and yes the really boring unflavoured ones that I keep in the biscuit barrel -but he is just impressed at the size of them I think!) I dont see the point of giving them to him. He still gets them though. Just not every day. But if we go to my nan's he gets about 20 in afew hours! He keeps going into the kitchen and she gives him them when ever he asks (I think she thinks I am cruel as I give him water not juice!) He calls her 'big nan biscuit' 2happy

Urban have you tried 2nd hand? My DH's cousin got a babydan one for £20 in the classified ads in her paper. I love my playpen!

Well done to all the lo on the moving about! I can leave Ruth sat in the room and know that she will be in exactly the same spot when I get back. Unless her brother pushes her over!

I am sure she is saying mama, dada, bye bye and, tractor (seriously whenever we get out Lukes tractor book, she grabs it-much to Lukes annoyance and says it over and over!) Maybe she will be talking properly soon, but just sat in the same spot in the room while all the other jan babies run around her

eandh · 20/10/2007 20:36

but she'll be telling them which way to run dh obviously very intelligent and worked about speaking is much better than moving around

Lizzzombie · 20/10/2007 20:44

Hi everyone!

KwK - your rice cake thread is very amusing. Its brought out all the freaks of mumsnet! Well done!

When I was at work this afternoon Dylan managed to climb the stairs unaided and totally freak DP out who was sat on the loo. He had left Dylan downstairs with the remote control (failsafe 5 mins technique normally) but not this time. He was so freaked that LO had climbed all the stairs on his own. Its scared him into buying a stairgate...finally!

9 months old today! Where is the time going?

Also, has anyone ever heard of baby olympics? He really crawls very very fast, i think I could make some money out of this!!!

I have caught baby flu (like man flu but worse) feel so shitty, can't taste anything and my head feels all fuzzy. Off to bed! xxx

Lizzzombie · 20/10/2007 20:45

ps. I've offered biscuits etc to Dylan, but he always prefers the plain rice cakes (not even the apple flavoured ones) strange boy.

WeeWitchyWilkie · 20/10/2007 20:49

J LURVES biscuits - like his momma. He has had 3 today

In MY defence, they are malted milk biscuits. He also has a few ounces of tea in his beaker in a morning with his morning biscuit

Shall I post on the food threads???? Hmmm, maybe not.

Everything in moderation - He has fruit and a healthy balanced diet so I am guessing a few biccies isn't going to harm him

Ont he plus side I have weaned him onto water which is great and so much cheaper.

Another tooth appeared today - from no where - so we now have 5.

Who has the toothiest baby??? I'm sure Z has about 7 doesn't he?

Lizzzombie · 20/10/2007 20:56

We have ZERO teeth. He is still teething!

Please tell me it gets better when they are used to it happening!

If must be weird for them suddenly having teeth. Freaky.

Wilks - I've invited you to play scrabble with me...yes, I am a saddo. I know!

theUrbanDevil · 20/10/2007 21:03

Z has 6 teeth and a 7th on the way. the medised's been out more than once in the Urban household this week!

Dragonhart · 20/10/2007 21:09

The thing that Ruth gets very very very excited over is...bananas. Seriously she get positively ecstatic about them and goes all twitchy and stiff!

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 20/10/2007 21:12

ds2 loves bananas, shame they make him constipated as hell!

Welcome, Susie

Now d'you think dh is going to get peeved if I keep tapping on puter at a time like this? I offered him a Bj just to see if he chose me over rugby....shouldn't have done that, I really didn't need to know the answer

Cheeers al, for the welcome. I've been knocking around MN for a while but only just found you guys, despite keeping my eyes open for you all!

Dragonhart: I've heard the expression, early talker later walker and vice verca before.. so maybe it rings true...

I think Isobel will be late wlaking, she's been babbling for a while now perfecting Daddy and 'Me Meeeeee ' ( that mummy ) although, i only ever hear it when she is wanting to be picked up... and also bye bye and hiya or, something very bloody similar!

I just love the clapping SO much. mainly because i sat down and taught her... it was intensive training we have plenty of time just having to be on the big bed when my back is very bad... so we have to do lots of things lke that. She alas picks up books now and makes lots of noise and babling. just like she's reading it.

But, again, this is because we have done SO much. Mum says i've more than over conmpensated for not being able to get on the floor to play with her.

We manage 7pm til about 3 ish for sleep some nights.. but as i'm not going til 11 or later ( no point with pain) its always always those nights that SHE goes longest! when i can sleep, she wakes every 3 hours!

god, sorry i'm waffling.

SO pleased to find you guys... I really really am. would be even more pleased to find one of you is in my area!

sorry to take up your thread
