I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

andiem is that what it is?
I had started giving a bit of apple puree etc thinking it was almost time! Hmm I will bear that in mind

Hi everyone

Congrats on the twins - I'm in awe of anyone who has more than 2 DCs!

We had a crappy night here too. DS went to sleep like a dream at 7, woke up at 11 and basically just dozed and woke up every 15 mins until 2:00 I fed him, winded him, changed him, etc but he just wanted to be awake and hence so was I. He then went back to sleep until 4:30 when he woke up again and was awake until 7:00, just in time for DD to wake up - OMG I have never been so tired. I hope that this isn't his new pattern.

at nursery fees.

Bumper - am very impressed at all your groups. There are virtually no baby groups here. We're not getting Surestart until 2010 so a bit late for me. My Hv has been telling me since Ds was born that there would be a programme of post-natal events at the clinic but so far they have been cancelled every month due to lack of staff so no joy there either. I'm a bit fed up to be honest as I would like to go along to something with him.

andiem · 15/10/2007 11:44

it is fury lots of people start weaning at this point due to night waking etc I am determined to hang in there because I want to do blw
with ds I started weaning at this stage as he started waking at night but it should settle again once this growth spurt is over. It can last a bit longer than others though

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 11:44

FF where do you live? I don't think you are far from me.

uh oh we are going to be putting our old banger on ebay... I am going to advertise it as an old banger though!
Still it has 4 new tyres and top quality leather seats so hoping someone will give us £100 even just for its scrap value.

Seansgirlnotblondegirl · 15/10/2007 11:47

FairyFay - what about a music group - I've just DSs name down for Rhythm Time (think they are nationwide), theres Monkey Music too. DD went from 6moths and loved it. Am also taking him to Mother&Baby swimming next month.

andiem · 15/10/2007 11:54

hi fairy fay you could always come to a starbucks activity with me every week will be in kingston on wed agin if you are about ( I always go on wed as my cleaner comes and I like to leave her to get on with it ifyswim)

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 12:00

hate to disappoint but my DD did this at 16-17 weeks, then settled back down for a week or two and now at 19 weeks is waking most nights again

I really don't know what to do, as I sooooo wanted to do BLW, but if she's hungry she's hungry. And I know all the arguments about getting more nutrition form milk feeds etc and the best thing to do is increase milk feeds, but I have been effectively pinned to the sofa this morning. She wants more about 10 minutes after a feed. I talked to a GP friend of mine this morning, and she said that their guts are developed by 16 weeks and the 26 week thing is WHO guidleines which is more aimed at developing countries where poor water quality, lack of sterilising facitites and famine are more of an issue. So at least at 19 weeks I'm not harming her by weaning now.

I'm thinking that as she dug her fingers in my mash the other night and nearly bit DHs hand off to get at a carrot yesterday she's kind of telling me she's ready for it!

bumper....you might be interested in this thread

TALLULAHSPELL · 15/10/2007 12:25

mmm weaning a minefield eh ?

yippee - new cot arrived. hope lo likes it. hope dh can build it

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 12:43

I am bored
I WOULD work but there is none
and I can't surf otherwise people will think I am unnecessary and not renew me

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 12:59

thanks for the suggestions, I might try a music group in a couple of months. I took DD to Jo Jingles and she enjoyed that - I waited with DD until she was sitting more-or-less unaided so maybe sometime after christmas. Until then I guess he'll just have to make do with coming with me wherever I take DD!

Andiem - starbucks sounds good but Weds are not generally good for me as I tend to go to my parents from Tues afternoon to weds evening. How about on a Friday (when DD is at childminder for the day)

Fury - I'm in Teddington, which is near Twickenham/Richmond/Kingston. Where are you?

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 13:00

SG - swimming is also a good idea, I might see if there's a group on a weds as can't face going with both DCs just yet as DD is still too young to understand that water can be dangerous, and just wants to jump in!

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 13:10

Reading!

When you said you went to Legoland which wasn't far away I thought you were further up the M4 corridor. I was going to suggest meeting up sometime (but thanks to holidays, Christmas etc I am pretty busy).
Doable later though?

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 13:16

Fury - would be lovely to meet up when you have more time. Reading, or somewhere in between, is do-able as we're basically at the end of the M3 so not far to M25 and M4.

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 13:22

I'd like that. Anyone else up for it?

I am free on the first weekend in december but Christmas shopping might not permit social time! Having said that I am hoping to do most of my shopping while in the US so it could be a goer?

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 13:28

Bumper we are overdue a meet - are you available that weekend as well? Or I am also free the weekend after at this stage

TALLULAHSPELL · 15/10/2007 13:29

Am off to talk to medical students about my BF experience. Why did I agree to do it? Am bricking it now - not a public speaker at all.AAAARRRRSSSSSEEEEE.

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 13:30

fury - unfortunately that weekend is no good for me as I'm going to a day spa on sat (yeah!) and we've got friends over on sunday. Probably have to be january?

Bumperlicious · 15/10/2007 13:32

AFAIK that is fine. And doesn't matter where to me either as I couldn't combine it with a trip to my MIL in swindon or my mum in surrey, so either side of reading is good for me.

Bumperlicious · 15/10/2007 13:34

could

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 13:38

Ok... Bumper lets do it on the 1st weekend in Dec, and FairyFay let's do january! Maybe we can even arrange a big meet up then, as that's plenty of notice! Would be good to see all the LO's! And Holly has her wheels

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 13:39

2nd weekend in dec might b ok, xmas shopping allowing.

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 13:40

fury - tbh jan is better so lets do then - if others could make it that would be fab

HellHathNoFury · 15/10/2007 13:41

yeah Jan it is then :-)

dogtanian · 15/10/2007 13:43

Jan sounds good to me...hopefully I'll be driving by then, so can join in the fun!
