Captain Dippy - glad you liked it. Hadn't seen other thread - but have now - may pop up from pit there sometime.

Can't really tell how relieved I feel FAB!!

{{Now repeat after me, controlled crying, controlled crying}}.

Puts on hard helmet and runs

Hi SPB, you ok? I am soooo tired. Hoping F sleeps a bit better tonight. Sleeping already so a good start. Keeping my fingers crossed

Sexonlegs · 27/09/2007 19:28

Hi folks

Hope all is well and quiet!

K sleeping after a whingy day. I can only think it is teeth, plus she is only having an hour and half sleep between 7.15 a.m and when she goes to bed at 7.00 p.m. so am sure she must be a bit tired?

Have had to de-nit B as well tonight which is always high drama. Bloody pain. I am tempted to shave her hair off.

Bramshott - good to see you at last!

Hi Northern Lurker! Welcome to the best pn group in th World!

mammyjo · 27/09/2007 19:33

Evening SOL, poor B, she doesnt seem to get any escape from the dreaded nits does she? I am not surprised K is tired after such a long day. F is exactly the same, up at somewhere between 7 and 8am, then I will be lucky to get her to sleep for an hour all day before she heads back to bed by 6.30pm. Nice that she goes to bed so early though!

Sexonlegs · 27/09/2007 19:48

Hi Mammyjo, how are you feeling now?

To be fair, K was only grizzly from about 4.30 - it just felt like it was all day!

On the red wine now which is probably a mistake as I have felt fluey (is there such a word??) all day. Hey ho!

mammyjo · 27/09/2007 20:07

Not too bad here, just a bit achey and tired. Hoping F will sleep a bit better tonight so that I can catch up on some sleep myself.

Idreamofchocolate · 27/09/2007 20:15

Yay Pinions, well done!

I have to admit, we have 'lightly' Gina Forded both DDs and they both go to bed like a dream. Thankfully haven't had to resort to controlled crying (yet) though.

SOL - ahem, started on the vin rouge at about 4.30pm today. Well my friend was here, it would have been rude not to

mmk · 27/09/2007 21:01

evening all, just haning around, ds and dd all asleep..
We did controlled crying with ds at about 8 months. First evening, we settled upstairs with biscuit tin and tv. Went in every 4 mins, then 5, then six. We went in about 9 times. When we got to 10 mins (which took about an hour) he fell asleep. The next night, we did 4 mins, 4 mins, and he fell asleept, whole thing took 20 mins.
The key is to relax, and have love in your heart, and remember it's not for ever. It does work, but it is better if they are not too tired.
choose a day and time that will enable you to relax about it.

Eddas · 27/09/2007 21:07

hi everyone, just a quicky before i head off for a kip!

'see' you all tomorrow x

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/09/2007 21:10

evenin all

went to funeral of fellow Parish Councillor today, mildy embarrassing moment, family had never met me, and i don't really 'fit' the image of a PC, so no one would ever presume that I was. After service they had a 'line-up' sort of thing like at weddings and I had to say hi to the two sons and widow. I was walking behind a rather cute man I now know is called Tony, went to introduce myself to widow and she looked shocked and blurted out "oh, I thought you must be Tony's girlfriend!"

thankfully Tony didn't hear her

Sexonlegs · 27/09/2007 21:36

Ooh IDOC you naughty little minx!! 4.30 for vin rouge?? I stopped at 1 glass as think it might be a pants night. B sounds quite croaky and dh has to get up at effing 5.00 a.m. to fly to Dublin.

Jut caught the end of Mock the Week. It is hilarious. Watched it last week for the first time, and dh and I were rofl.

Pillock, so could Tony be a potential then???

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/09/2007 21:59

Tony would have been lovely, but decided it would be rather inappropriate to start chatting him up when he was crying!

weeonion · 27/09/2007 22:55

evening folks!
how are you all?

can i ask - when do people do cc? is it through the night when they wake up or to settle them in the evening for bed? C still gets up around 5am usually for a feed but not sure how to wean he off this. is this whe i am meant to do cc???? doh!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/09/2007 22:58

only time I've used cc is at 6pm ish when Joe has just fed and I know he's tired, but he doesn't like the idea of going to bed

not sure it can be used to wean them off feeds, but more to get them to send themselves to sleep when you know they need to, instead of say, cuddling to sleep

busywithIzzy · 27/09/2007 23:26

Evening Ladies

Dippy - Thinking of you hon, hope things get better for you.

Thanks for all the replies/messages for Smole and Jesse I will forward them on to her.

Oooggs - yeah to dts sleeping during the day and Pinions yeah to sleeping.

I have been very lucky with both dc, not sure how but they both have been good sleepers. Izzy was not so good during the day early on, but now has 2/3 sleeps during the day for at least an hour. Routine as follows BF, into grobag in room, put music thing on, leave them room, maximum of 5 mins crying then asleep...I follow the same routine at night also.

Izzy has finally learned to roll from her back to her front.

Took her out to a restaurant in Southampton this evening and she attracted so much attention...it was lovely

Hope those feeling ill are feeling better, I don't feel too bad at the moment but am losing my voice...much to everyone elses delight

Sorry forgotten everything else.

busywithIzzy · 27/09/2007 23:29

Weeonion - I think cc can be used at any time as long as you're sure there is nothing else wrong iyswim.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/09/2007 00:07

RIGHT LADIES

am off to stay with Pesha tomorrow

I know there are some of you lurking in that part of the country

SO, anyone wanna meet us for coffee? I'll be arriving tomorrow afternoon, and leaving Sunday afternoon.

OCTO and WCL this means you (and obviously anyone else dhaaan sarf, would love to see you Oooggs, and going to the shopping centre, but know it is quite a trek for you)

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2007 07:10

Wrong bit of Daaaaaaaan Saaaaarf, E. Have fun though.

Gosh I am tired, yaaaaaaawn.

Head has emptied.

Although I've never even read anything by GF, I think I must be a bit GF-ish - Am all up for routine and P sleeps pretty much the same times every day - She is put down in her cot awake and goes to sleep after a couple of visits. She is lovely really, even if I do moan about her too much sometimes.

Thijnk I'm going to try P on a bit of bay rice this w/e ..... It's a slippery slope .....
