SPB - You ok??

elkiedee · 28/09/2007 07:50

Hi all, we made it safely to Alaska finally yesterday afternoon - am 9 hours behind the UK so it's 10.30. D slept lots yesterday during the day as it still on London time, and not so much overnight (day time in London), glad to say he seems to have adjusted now, and accepted being put to bed at 7 pm here. He loves the attention of having lots of people coming up to talk to him, he's a real extrovert baby (takes after daddy there). He's had lots of pics taken, hope I get to see some of them myself!

We're in a real tourist trap area, lots of fun t shirts and bizarre souvenirs, limited practical stuff of any kind. dp had to get a taxi as speed of nappy use took us by surprise - I also didn't really understand length of journey in real time therefore need for more nappies!

CD, could you not apply for that nappy job yourself? I suppose hours make it difficult, hope you find a solution.

Pillock, lol at M, he sounds lovely. We used to have a monkey living round the corner from us in Leeds and I took baby brother for lots of walks to see it. Understandably my mum and stepdad didn't believe me at all until I took them to see for themselves.

Pillock and Pesha, hope you have a great time again.

Am really tired myself though from combination of delayed onset jetlag, wakeful baby and busy time. Still thinking of you all, not awake enough to respond.

oooggs · 28/09/2007 08:03

morning all, ds1 not feeling well so in my bed I would love to meet Pesha & Eliie but that is s till about 2.5 hrs away so 5 hours driving with dcs. So I doubt it and dh wants to see as much as he can of this this weekend due to those 12 hours shifts the next two weeks.

More norice and I would have made a super dooper effort and planned so next time let in know as soon as you can x

StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2007 08:34

Morning!
Yes, I'm fine, thanks, very tired as T didn't want to sleep at 3am! Can you do cc if they're wide awake? Well I went for the old method of sleeping downstairs with him, he doesn't seem to cry if I'm there and falls asleep eventually. He also likes the fact that he can cry in mum's face the next morning - saves so much energy
elkie - good to hear from you although you're probably just going to bed! Glad D has adjusted to the times.
Off to see mum today and get a high chair, hopefully it will fit in the boot of my car!

Morning all. Better night here with F waking only twice for feeds at 12 then 3am. Slept til half seven after that, by which time I was up and showered for the school run! She is still full of a cold, really snuffly and very watery red eyes. Shouldnt moan as this is the first time she has been poorly since birth really. Put it down to all my immunity via bf!

Oooggs, hope ds1 feels better soon. Its the start of cold season isnt it. Apparently a lot of children in ds class have gone off with diarrhoea bugs - crossing fingers that ds doesnt get it.

liath · 28/09/2007 09:41

morning!

Oooggs, hope ds1 feels better soon.

Elkiedee - have a fabulous holiday!

Not such a great night here either. I used to feel so smug that dd was a good sleeper but now realise that it was more to do with her nature than my terrific parenting skills because ds is CRAP.

Lucewheel - that soft play place looks good so will probably check it out in the next week or two.

Morning folks.

Erin woke a couple of times through night crying, ended up giving calpol. Think maybe her teeth are bothering her (wish they'd just bloody come through).

Weather is looking pretty crap here but I really should make the effort to go to baby group cos I should weigh Erin really.

Sorry ds1 is ill Oooggs, hope it doesn't last long.
