yes hello lurker - do we 'know' you??????

NorthernLurker · 27/09/2007 13:02

No we've never 'met' - but I've been reading the threads through pregnancy up till now. Just never felt moved to post till now. Baby B was my second April baby - eldest 8 now and middle one 5. She (B)is absolutely lovely - very smiley and into rolling onto tummy and getting stuck at the moment. We are on two meals a day, breastfeeding rest of time and have just changed to sitting up bit of pushchair which she loves. I am firmly committed to disposable nappies though - do you want to show me the door?

geordiemacminx · 27/09/2007 13:09

NorthernLurker · 27/09/2007 13:18

Well it's a good thing I'm a pampers mummy then!

How far north -errrrrm - South of Edinburgh, North of Derby, sort of in the middle - nowhere near Newcastle.

geordiemacminx · 27/09/2007 13:20

c is sleeps too.... on a pillow on my knee... so i cant go anywhere.... mn and last nights Heros for me

NorthernLurker · 27/09/2007 13:29

Didn't mean to sound paranoid - just aware of how easy it is to give away huge chunks of information about self v easily - will let out where I live soon enough anyway as someone is bound to mention the area eventually and I'll get over excited! Do you enjoy living in Scotland? I love holidays up there.

oooggs - have your twins sent B sleep vibes - 1 hr 20 mins and counting - normally an hour is her max in the day!

I'm doing a really bad job of sinking back into the lurk swamp aren't I

geordiemacminx · 27/09/2007 13:32

glasgow isnt much different to newcastle... weather is crap beer is cheap.... or so i remember, its been a while [grin

having said that its been lovely up here the past coupleof das.. although get this..... DP HAD TO DEFROST THE CAR THIS MORNING!!!

nappynuttynormabutty · 27/09/2007 13:35

Aha...another person to convert to cloth . Welcome NL

geordiemacminx · 27/09/2007 13:37

HEY NUTTY....Leave the woman alone... she is staying on the pampers side of the fence!!!

NorthernLurker · 27/09/2007 13:38

Its been awfully chilly here too and I'm not really geared up for winter yet - DD1 has boots but no tights, DD2 has no tights and TWO pairs of last years boots - but surely they must be too small? DD3 has tights but no boots - but can't walk or indeed crawl so not too much of an issue. Has snowsuit - two actually but no foot muff thing - didn't have one with previous babes but always regretted it - should I invest this time - the one to match my pram will be a bit of a major purchase - will I get good use of it?

NorthernLurker · 27/09/2007 13:39

Definately staying pampers...too old to change

oooggs · 27/09/2007 13:40

footmuffs cost a fortune and I needed two but they are fab and I am glad I bought the ones to go with pushchair cos they fit - made that mistake last time

geordiemacminx · 27/09/2007 13:41

suppose it depends how far you walk? ds is sill in car seat attaced to pram, so i uually just drap a blanket over him. There ar some lovely buggy snuggles about, cow print spotty etc... probably more handy than foot muff andmore easily washed? Or try ebay for a second hand one?

geordiemacminx · 27/09/2007 13:42

we don walk very far either...usually in car then shops so no need to be wrapped up so much?

Idreamofchocolate · 27/09/2007 13:44

Hello all you Northern ladies, hello Northern Lurker. You will get sucked in now, you have been warned

Dippy - so sorry to hear about your financial situation. I really feel for you as I know your PILs could help you out. Is there any way in the world your dh could mention it to them, or would it just wash over them?

SPB - yay about the house sale!

SOL - soory you are feeling so ropey. Extra horrid when you can't just take a break from being a mummy and take a little time for yourself. Sending you virtual Flakes.

Just been to Sainsburys and bumped into my lovely midwife. Really nice to see her again and she was cooing over S (well, who wouldn't, S is gorgeous!).

Bit bored today really, only went to Sainsburys to get out of the house and have a coffee as I was so fed up of being here. Hate days when I have nowt planned, although Em has a friend over for tea after school, so that will be madness. Sometimes they get on, sometimes they fight and end up in tears, ho hum, which is it to be this afternoon? Send me some please, as cannot cope with two scrapping 5 year olds.

Had an email from one of my NCT group today...will copy some of it here as it will make you laugh (well it did me....)

"I'VE BEEN HAVING A BLOODY NIGHTMARE AND IF B DOSEN'T START SLEEPING SHE WILL BE FOR SALE ON EBAY (WITH CAR SEAT).

WOO IS ME.

We went on holiday and she managed to wake up about every hour, (dh) could be found pushing her around the resort at all times at night, in the end (dh) slept with (ds)in one room and i had to take her into bed with me, cant find that bit in Gina!!!!!!!

Anyway we are back now and she still isen't sleeping, is it her teeth? does she need more food? has she got a cold? does she just hate me? ALL OF THE ABOVE!!

Joined weightwatchers last night, another reason to kill myself!!!! My scales have clearly been lying to me."

Lots of walking goes on here - which is why I was thinking its a good plan. Never tried ebay - but then never posted on mumsnet before today - so perhaps its my day for new things?

geordiemacminx · 27/09/2007 13:48

if you tell me what kind of muff i coukd have a look for you?
