I've been reading the Sears' Good Behaviour Book, and its very good. They had 8 children, which is reassuring!

loonylovegood · 25/09/2007 22:45

I'd have slapped the bitch and told her to get the fuck out of my house! I would then have cuddled and fed my baby whenever he wanted, filmed it and shoved the tape up her arse!

I thinks that's it Daisy. I'm uneasy because she's not following a line. Rather cutting across them.

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/09/2007 22:47

Just found out that our accommodation in centerparcs does have a sauna [glee]. how fabulous is that?

I will come home sweated and detoxed and relaxed and lovely. DH is treating me to a spa treatment as well

One of the November ladies had her baby today....33 weeks, 4lb 8oz. He is doing OK though

loonylovegood · 25/09/2007 22:47

I have 98 milk daisy! That's where my babies have both ended up! Big fat chubby things, but beautiful and lovely!

I hope CV doesn't do a GF and sue MN!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/09/2007 22:48

Is she dropping weight then foxy? What has your HV said?

Can you check it against the WHO charts and see where she is then?

loonylovegood · 25/09/2007 22:50

Wow, a november baby already! That's quite big for 33 weeks.

There was a baby at toddler group last week who was 1lb 1oz at birth! She was 6 months and still only 9lbs and was still on oxygen. She had tubes up her nose and was attached to a tank. She was so weeny, it made me quite sad.

foxybrown · 25/09/2007 22:56

Daisy, she said its slow weight gain. HV was very good and reassuring, but I want to try to improve my supply and quality if I can.

Thanks for the charts, but I'm a bit thick and can't understand them.

riabutterflew · 25/09/2007 22:57

I had to stop watching that programme before it really got started. leavea baby to cry for 5-10 minutes, yes. 7-7 NO!!! Above all else what would the neighbours think? you would have a social worker on your doorstep like a shot.

I cleaned my living room floor and rearranged the furniture instead.

FWIW baggins is just having a feed after being happily kicking and shouting most of the evening. He is not a big fan of routine.

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/09/2007 22:57

Those WHO charts have a weight for length chart which is good. The chart in the red book makes no allowance for short or long babies.

They may help re-assure anyone who is worrying.

Foxy, I forget your DD is just a young 'un. babyboo was 16 weeks today!

riabutterflew · 25/09/2007 22:59

no-one understands those charts foxy.

we have BF charts in our red book.

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/09/2007 22:59

foxy, if you look at the centile charts...they are just the same as the charts in the red book...age along the bottom, weight up the side.

loonylovegood · 25/09/2007 23:01

It's so annoying that the red books don't allow for length. My HVs have always told me that my dd is too heavy. She is really tall though and so is ds, neither of them are fat, they are completely in proportion. Bloody charts!

I'm off to bed with my baby now! He can bf in the night if he wants and I shall cuddle him until he is asleep! Up your arse CV you fucking witch!

Hippy continuum stylee love to you all xxx

riabutterflew · 25/09/2007 23:03

obviously i didn't mean the neighbours were more important than actually cuddling the baby lots, but it's always at the back of my mind a bit cos I had a bad experience when ds1 a baby.

glad you had a good break bumper.

sorry you had a crappy day MH.

amantha - how about putting your feet in a bowl of hot water with mustard powder in it? i read that somewhere once and have always been intruiged

my MIL would be of the CV opinion

foxybrown · 25/09/2007 23:05

LOL LentilWeaverLoonyLoveGood!

Thanks Daisy, I hadn't looked at them properly! Won't get hung up on it.

I won't, I won't, I won't...

Hi Ria! Hope things are OK with you, sounds like things have been a bit crappy.

I'm off to bed, nite all x

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/09/2007 23:34

MHC....i hope your day is better tomorrow. Your inlaws sound horrible, you have my sympathy.

Ria, I shudder to think what my neighbour thinks of me..I'm always shouting at DS

WW weigh in tomorrow. I think I've lost a couple of pounds, but you know how these things go, the crap I ate over the weekend will put in appearance in the form of fat cells overnight. If I'm still 12st 7 tomorrow morning, I just won't go.

and I've been really good today as well, I even had a WW sauce for my pasta tonight!

I'm off to bed too. night night.

derlor · 25/09/2007 23:44

sorry to start the great weight debate then bugger off
our charts (although made for ff babies) do at least work on a weight to length ratio, i don't understand charts that don't.
As adults we ALWAYS relate weight to height so you MUST do it with children too, and charts that don't are bollocks - IMH(and professional)Opinion!!!!
right rant over - i'm off to bed NOW!!! night all x

Mornin!

I am wanting to start using my pushchair soon cos the little fella looks really squished in his maxicosy car seat and he gets grumpy if he's in it too long, but the push chair doesn't look as cosy - I'vw thought about getting some kind of sheepskin thingy to put in it - but not sure what one is best!
Does anyone know or have used any thing to cosy up their pushchair? Whats good?????

andiem · 26/09/2007 08:49

morning all
didn't watch the programme on channel 4 last night as it would upset me too much denying babies affection and interaction is in my book emtoional neglect and I would be very concerned if I knew a parent was doing this

re sheepskin dkma I have a lovely one from john lewis it is australian my ds loves it I also have a buggy snuggle which is like a fleecy sleeping bag great for winter

Bumper glad you had a good hols

am off to get ds weighed today haven't been since he was 9 weeks and he is 14 now so will have to see how much he has grown am also off to ikea this morning to get some bits and bobs and probably 6 million other things I don't need

catch up later have a good day all

Jamantha · 26/09/2007 09:04

Morning all. Well was a good night - she slept til nearly 5. But bless her she was so snuffly, we had to clear her nose to let her breathe & feed at the same time. She obviously hated it but was very brave.

DH is working at home today, so hope he doesn't get too put off by baby stuff going on. Don't want to end on a sour note as he goes to Seattle tomorrow

Feel v bad hearing about you weightwatchers etc, as I've been very lax this past week. Will try harder I promise, but maybe after my weekend away (going to my parents for part of time DH is away)

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 26/09/2007 09:11

Mornin Jamantha
DH was in Kansas all last week - it sucked!!
I was exhausted by the time he got home - so que a big row!!
Good idea to go to your mums - I wish I'd organised something like that!

Jamantha · 26/09/2007 09:24

Hi DKMA, yeah couldn't face a whole week on our own, and know my family would love to see LO - some haven't met her yet - so we're decamping to Norwich Fri-Tues. Not looking forward to journey, but hopefully she'll sleep for some/most of it. My Dad is really excited about us visiting!

trendaverter · 26/09/2007 09:25

morning all
had a bit of an 'episode' last night as I didn't get home til 7pm, then had to bath, feed DS, cook diner, feed dog, put DS to bed, and I lost it.

So today I left for work at 6.30am, got here for 7.30, spoke to my boss who has agreed I can work early and leave early so I miss the traffic and have more time to perform wife/mother duties.

I missed brining up baby!
GODDAMMIT

Thank god for 4OD, I will watch it in bed at the weekend

Jamantha · 26/09/2007 09:32

3 cheers for your bosses agreement to what sounds like a sensible arrangement TA. Just don't feel bad at leaving before colleagues (thats the sort of thing I would do, you're probably made of better stuff)
