hi DG we did .

DH took DSs original birth certificate (in my name), plus our marriage certificate, filled out a form RR1 and paid the new few to have our wedding date added and DHs surname on the certificate. It cost us £8.50 (plus £20 in diesel for the journey to Hawick and back!)

It feels very odd now that we are all of the same surname. DS very confused as he has been called J.... since he was three so can't really remember being called by my maiden surname.

There are different forms for different circumstances, so give West Register House a call. We did that this morning and they were very helpful, as were the little ladies in the registry offices in Jedburgh and Hawick. I don't think they've had so much excitement in one day...mad people phoning them up crying I need to do this and I need to do it today waaaaahhhh

Do you homeschool then? I don't think it will offend anyone at all

I just don't have the patience to do it tbh or I would, as given some of the letters etc we get home, we are a damn sight more literate, grammatically aware than his teachers. But, the little beggar doesn't listen to a word I say, so he would end up knowing nothing and I would have dropped dead from exhaustion and stress.

Get rid of the little buggers through the day, that's what I say

Gah, late and i have to drive to Boston tomorrow! We are off to spend the weekend at DHs weekday abode. We are going to Cromer on Saturday to fish for crabs off the pier

monday we go to the passport office in Peterborough. Wish me luck.....and keep your eye on the news for reports of deranged Scottish woman assaulting passport office worker. I'll make sure I get a few kicks in for TA while I'm at it

dg ds1 is 10. it all went tits up when he started getting bullied in Yr1 and the teacher(my reception teacher btw - she retired a couple of years later) said he "gave as good as he got". That was the extent of their concern and look what's happened. (i am fairly intelligent btw, i just can't type[blush[).

oh fuck it, can worry all night from the semi-comfort of my bed.

Let me know how comfy your memory foam mattress is holly...

Morning all!
Dh is wonderful and has taken the day off so I can have a lie in, and he brought me a cup of tea, and has told me I can buy as many nappies as I want. Luv him.

I don't know how you homeschool DG - would severly test my patience (which is already stretched to its limits some days)

loonylovegood · 21/09/2007 07:57

Get thee back to bed then TA!!

Hope you have a lovely day with your lovely dh. My dp doesn't seem to think we are worthy of spending time with, all his spare time is spent improving his handicap! I'd like to stick his fucking golf clubs up his fucking arse!

just been expressing off a bottle of milk and not until I had done 3.5 oz that I realised it's pink, from my bleeding nipple and what a fucking waste! Can I still feed DD from that side? It's properly bleeding, not sure why, but I don't think the pump is helping either, but expressing milk off is the only way I get a break. And LO is still sleeping but I have been awake since 6.30 - argh! Sorry, I'm really doom and gloom at the moment, Tell me to bugger off if i'm starting to get annoying.

Jamantha · 21/09/2007 08:16

Morning all.

Bumper, sorry about your bleeding nipple.

Daisy, if you're about, am of you going to Cromer this weekend. I grew up in Norwich, and miss the coast around there. Am keen to have a nice family holiday there when DD is older, if only I can persuade DH

But DG how do they ever learn to interact with other kids their own age? And surely their knowledge will end up being a bit random? I'm not convinced honestly.

loonylovegood · 21/09/2007 09:20

Bumper, hope your boobs are feeling better now! I know it's a bit minging, but you can still use the bloody milk! Use lots of Lansinoh and keep your bra off to let the air get your your nips! You poor thing xx

I'm really excited, I've just signed up for an evening course in website design, starting on monday! At last something to get my teeth into!

DG, I think it complicates things of she is your DHs stepdaughter but not by much. I think you need to just fill in a different form that you can download from the website. The form doesn't seem to ask for any sort of proof. Call register house, they were very nice and helpful. LOL at you golfer distracting tactics

Bumper, you can still give DD the ebm and continue to feed off that side, she shouldn't notice a difference in taste really. Could you have thrush? There are lots of different symptoms, see here.

Real nappy users, DD has developed really dry skin in her nappy area, mainly at the front....anyone else? and advice please on how to prevent it. We use fleece liners usually.

I've got to go out in a bit Holly (I forgot to make DSs packed lunch this morning , bugger....do I have to sign for it or can I get them to leave it with a neighbour?

Jamantha · 21/09/2007 09:37

Just watching a programme (recorded at random by our Tivo) about a woman who did an experiment of not washing or using any toiletries etc for 6 weeks. They also showed the other extreme, a cleanliness freak, and talked about the average british woman spending over 16 hours per week cleaning the home!

BadZelda · 21/09/2007 09:56

Oh I saw that. Hair is not self-cleaning!

Jamantha · 21/09/2007 09:59

I have to say I've always been sceptical about the self-cleaning hair thing. On the other hand without wanting to sound too grim, I do believe a little dirt doesn't hurt.

BadZelda · 21/09/2007 10:01

And another thing: I seem to have become ten times sweatier since having LO. Stress, hormones, or increased blood supply due to bf'ing? Anyone else noticed this?

Jamantha · 21/09/2007 10:05

I did have problems in first weeks, but seems to have settled now BZ

daisyandbabybootoo · 21/09/2007 10:09

yup BZ....very sweaty. It is not nice at all. I think it is hormonal.

not sure about the self cleaning hair thing either, but we are certainly not clean freaks where the DCs are concerned. DS gets a bath once a week (twice if he's lucky) and DD usually every other day when it's her poo day!

I used to bath DS evey day when he was little and his skin was all dry and horrible.

and, I don't know if there is a connection or not, but DS has never had the dreaded headlice.

BadZelda · 21/09/2007 10:17

Daisy: haven't had dry skin with DD2 - but I am mixing moultex and cloth. I find olive oil works really well though?
