That tea sounds quite tasty. Might try it as Baby Sputnik is ravenous late afternoon/early evening.
BTW Annobal (or anyone else) if you fancy it Ischia should be relatively easy to get to from the UK. The port you get the ferry from is only about 20km straight down the road from Naples airport. It's low season and we only paid 50 euros a night including food and the kids were free.

riabutterflew · 24/09/2007 22:09

we got an email from sd to msay she's not a lesbian

if only i was as posh as fry & clunes. i could have g&t for breakfast! (i wish i dared to be that grumpy and superior...)

dh is making me watch hells kitchen usa. i wonder if he is researching for being a lecturer?

sputnik · 24/09/2007 22:14

Who is sd? Have I missed something jiucy in the Ria household?

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 22:14

Has she disappeared and left us in supense?

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 22:31

DG...or rather MHC..they sound most odd your PILs. tell them to take a hike? what sort of grown up knowingly slags off a child? I wuld lay down the law, a case of love your GCs, love your step GCs......or bugger off!

Does anyone want to FLY?

riabutterflew · 24/09/2007 22:31

step daughter. sorry is that not the right abbreviation?

shame for her cos MIL likes to announce to the world that most of her best friends are gay. (if MILs friends are like her - as i suspect they are - then they aren't worth knowing, gay or not)

wonder how she will react when ds2s godmother comes to ds3s christening with her "partner". MIL wasn't keen on her when she was married to a man.

you see, my life just gets more unbelievable by the day

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 22:35

not that's right Ria...just not thinking.

or you could use DSD....

Looking at the weather forecast for the next few days...please pray for gale force winds over LS17 so my nelwy done and leaking garage roof blows off ad then we can get it re-done on the buildings insurance!!!

sputnik · 24/09/2007 22:38

DG can you lay the guilt on them and say how fond your DD is of them? They deserve to be made to feel lousy by the sounds of things.

riabutterflew · 24/09/2007 22:39

if the tornado could then just pop down the A64 to tadcaster...

this programme is AWFUL. I want DH it turn it off NOW! How can he watch it? It is worse than prostitution of his art...

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 22:41

Are you in Tadcaster Ria? I thought you were more coastal than that.

or is that where the PILs live?

riabutterflew · 24/09/2007 22:42

would it be an "act of God" though daisy? or that other thing i can't remember what it's called and I used to work for a certain "rurally based" insurance company

riabutterflew · 24/09/2007 22:46

PILs.

i live quite near Filey.

Insurance policy exclusions are morally wrong. that's why i had to give it up - my boss did not appreciate my opinion. but luckily i was having ds2 so didn't go back after ML (actually they didn't ask if I wanted to go back, just replaced me with someone who had done my job before me. Twunts).#

irrelevant, sorry i need to move on.

riabutterflew · 24/09/2007 22:49

i am off to bed. it will be tomorrow soon enough. can't wait to see what our "test" will be...

Tell me about the insurance stuff. My office do lots of work for loss adjusters and there seems no logical reasoning why they would pay out on one property but not on another for basically the same defect...and as the bod in the front line who turned up at the house to look, it was usually me who was in the front line when the accusations about lack of impartiality were flying....oooh I could go on.

I thought storm damage was covered though....

Act of God.....what if you don't believe in God?

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 22:53

i sometimes buy simply knitting....

how old is she MHC?

I'm barely treading water in this house, let alone flying. I also balked at the shoes thing. I hate wearing shoes indoors.

No advice re PILs I'm afraid. We've had similar from my MIL, claiming we stimulate DD too much . Apparently her babies were all content to sit still watching her do the washing up all day

Must go to bed DD starts at her new nursery tomorrow.

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 23:00

is that proper disneyland, like in america and everyhting?

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 23:02

erm sputnik, my DD is content to sit and watch me MN all day ...as long as I smile at her over the top of the laptop screen every now and again.

You're up late, aren't you?

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 23:04

I won't be doing the shoes indoors either......but I do have a pair of slip on wedgy things I wear around the house. (I can't reach the cupboards without shoes on...our kitchen was designed for giants )

I'm in bed sleeping really
DD was 2.5 when MIL made that comment.
Baby Sputnik is generally content to eat or sleep. He likes a good tickle and is working on his raspberry blowing technique.
Now I've read that link BadZ posted I feel guilty we are not doing anything more exciting
