BadZelda · 24/09/2007 20:17

Hey all - haven't had quite time to catch up, but Daisy - I found all these nice games to play with babies?

derlor · 24/09/2007 20:23

Hi Smilingkiwi

Ria could your DH perhaps teach at a chef college? is there such a thing? would he be able to do that?
Holly my DH is going to be in Southampton this Friday for a 100 mile charity bike ride - maybe you could go and cheer him on? race starts and finishes at a park near the civic hall, is that near you?

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 20:26

Bumper has gone to North Wales.....i had a text from her yesterday...she had stopped at the services for a feeding break, LOL.

So Daisy, what you been up to on this lovely day?!?!?!?! (sept weekend here so schoools off!)

BadZelda · 24/09/2007 20:46

Although DD2 spends so much time watching DD1 she doesn't need much additional entertainment. Also getting really into objects: she spent about 10 minutes playing with a spoon today (they do have toys too, but she seems to prefer household objects )

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 20:48

I've been pinned to the sofa for most of the day by small baby who fed and fed and fed then gave herself a tummy ache and cried and cried and cried

Then school run, fed DD some more then took DS for his swimming lesson

then home for tea, fed Dd some more, put DS to bed and fed DD some more (can you see a pattern emerging?)

DCs now both in bed and I am drinking wine...even though I said I was cutting down......

derlor · 24/09/2007 20:52

LOL at the spoon BZ.
DD has a vibrating bouncer chair thingy that has an arch above it with toys on, there are 2 wee bugs and a musical thing you pull. Up until yesterday DD1 has delighted in pulling the music for DD2 whenever she is in the chair but last night while we were all eating dinner she just reached up and started pulling it herself - she was a bit shocked at first and kept looking at DD1 as if she had pulled it!!! then she just kept pulling it and giggling to herself - well cute. (we all cheered every time she did it - lovely wee family moment )

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 20:56

aw, derlor, that is very cute. DD did similar with her tiny love arch toy. The look onher face when she grabbed hold of it for the fist time, but she hasn't managed to set it off herself.

I was watching some crap property show this morning and there was a bloke on with a hairstyle like DH and wearing sunglasses. DHs specs are those self tinting things. WEll she must have thought her Daddy was on telly cos she started doing the special giggles that only DH gets from her. Very cute, but am of his special giggles. When she looks at me she just licks her lips and makes funny little feed me noises

derlor · 24/09/2007 20:57

Daisy, i think you deserve the wine (and perhaps a wee nibble of chocolate too?? )
My DD is definately hungrier at the mo as well - she had beed sleeping all night from 8 weeks but over the last week has been needing a night time feed again, i keep telling her that this is NOT ON!!!! Hopefully things will calm down again soon.
it is kind of nice though being just the 2 of us that are up and getting to feed her in total peace for a change!

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 21:02

oooh, DD has been doing that too. She has been up at half four/five the last few mornings and has started going down earlier at night as well. I tried a dream feed last night, but I was so tired I took her off beofre she was finished.

Its 24 days till my holiday DS and I ahve put 24 stars on his star chart so we can remove one each day in countdown!!

Oh, and strangely proud mum moment today...he came out of school waving a merit certificate. Bless him, it was for doing his work when asked and following instructions first time..... but hey, it is an achievement as it's the first time since they went back that he has bothered....if only he could manage it at home as well!

derlor · 24/09/2007 21:16

i know it's just the stage they are at but my wee brain was ticking....(again) and i am going to try taking some fenugreek as i feel like she feeds SO much in the mornings (at the mo it's between 4+5 like you, then 7,10,12,2...then 5ish, 6ish (bed) then sleepy feed at 11ish, and repeat) However i feel that i have VERY little milk from 2pm onwards, as she's blooming drank it all already! So if i can increase my supply then maybe she will be more satisfied in the afternoons/evenings and go back to sleeping through??
what do you think?
FAB NEWS ABOUT THE MERIT CERTIFICATE - CLEVER BOY xx

riabutterflew · 24/09/2007 21:20

well done to your ds daisy. bless. at our school you get a sticker for sitting nicely and eating all your lunch - ffs ds1 is 10!

big cheer for your dd derlor.

lol at the spoon bz, all my boys have always preferred a colander full of bits of paper, a pan, tongs, masher and spoon!

i think dh would be a great catering lecturer because he loves his job more than anything (me included at times), just have to convince him of that and find him a job!

must have my tv head on this week - i love doc martin. he reminds me of me too

annobal · 24/09/2007 21:20

Daisy, that is lovely!

I like the play games BZ - I'm going to try them out tomorrow. Could even involve DSs in them as well.

Derlor, I'm with you - I like the middle night feeding and kind of miss it when DS sleeps through - also I don't sleep as well because my norks are so full that it hurts.

derlor · 24/09/2007 21:20

oh Prison Break starts again tonight - I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!! >

derlor · 24/09/2007 21:22

Ria you are a wonderful vision in my head of a cross between Steven Fry and Martin Clunes!!!! you make me LOL!

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 21:24

I thought that your boobs just made more? i always have a wee squeeze when she comes off and milk comes out so assume my supply is OK? I never got this far with DS so it's all a bit if a new experience.

I'm fighting off the "is that child not on bottles yet" comments from my MIL and the "have you not started her on solids" comments from MIL, DM, DSis. My mum was amazed that I had continued to feed through my bout of mastitis, as was MIL.

Where do I get fenugreek tea anyway?...it can't do any harm.

I got a text from my cousin earlier....she's pregnant and due in May. she has been trying for years, so yay for her

derlor · 24/09/2007 21:24

it is kind of sweet annobal isn't it - i NEVER have full norks anymore though!
hardly ever need to change breast pads any more - same pair last all day! (except for when i put my dyson on as that makes me leak like mad!!!!)

sputnik · 24/09/2007 21:25

That's very cute with your DD and the toy Derlor, Baby Sputnik started looking at his hands today. Recently he always cries when I put him in the gym though.

You 2 have got me worried about your previously sleeping-through babies waking up again now.

annobal · 24/09/2007 21:28

Derlor, that's exactly what DS is doing - feeding loads in the morning and early afternoon then I don't have much milk left for the evening feed. If he goes to bed at 7pm he wakes at about 2pm (even with a dream feed - it doesn't make much difference). But if he goes to bed between 8 and 9pm, he sleeps to 6ish. Go figure .

Urtica Urens (homeopathic remedy 30c potency) is also meant to be very good at increasing supply.

sputnik · 24/09/2007 21:29

How are your norks this week Daisy?
