UD - Z is gorgeous Need to update mine still.

Dragonhart · 08/10/2007 10:12

Wel, it is my birthday today and because of the postal strike I have not had any cards sent to me. So I have two on the mantle piece.

Also going to a toddler group where no-one knows it is my bday (I will be too embarassed to tell them anyway) and Luke and RUth have no idea is is my birthday. I told Luke it was and he kept saying Happy Birthday Big Nan as it was hers last week. So I wont see anyone who will say Happy Birthday to me until DH comes home at about 8pm

On the up side, DH did leave a card and loads of packets of Revels (which I love) when he left for work this morning.

I also got a very posh food processer and blender from my mum and brother

Seeing rest of family through the week so not all bad.

OMG. Its so late, and i am still mot dressed, and neither is LO. Am being majorly scummy today.
Went to Dorset to see parents, was my Mums birthday on Friday, but we were there for less than 24 hours and I am incredibly knackered now. The house is a total mess from Saturday when DP was looking after LO with a stonking hangover whilst I was at work.
DP is having an op tomorrow and will be signed off all week. So I may just not bother tidying and cleaning, its not really worth it!

Oh, and my Mum has taught LO to climb the stairs. Thanks Mum!

Happy Birthday dragonhart its my DP's birthday next week too. Whats with all the October birthdays?!

Lizzzombie · 08/10/2007 10:49

oh & I am very happy coz I found a copy of "In the night garden" magazine issue 2 with Upsy Daisy hand puppet in the village shop near my parents. So now I know all the words to all the songs!

eandh · 08/10/2007 12:10

Happy Birthday Dragonhart love the eandhfamily xx

Its dh birthday on wednesday, ellie been looking at the birthday cake book and decided that daddy wants a hedgehog cake so we have baked the sponge today and after preschool tomorrow we will fudge ice it and stick loads of mint matchmakers in for the spikes and chocolate buttons for nose and eyes (the beauty of having a 3 year old is apparently everyone must have a cake and candles on their birthday regardless!!) was really stuck on what to get him so bought him a top from me and the girls got him a worlds best daddy mug each (they were on bogof!!) so he has one for here and one for work plus the slab of choc from thorntons! He is off work wednesday so not sure what we'll do

Lizz hope dp ok and not to serious op

Jodie oh dear really isnt your week is it

eandh · 08/10/2007 12:12

lizz we have upsydaisy and igglepiggle soft toys that were from tesco hattie loves the programme but seems to think the upsydaisy doll is good chewing toy

Lizzzombie · 08/10/2007 13:02

eagh - where did you get the worlds best daddy mug from?
DPs birthday is on the 17th and I am a bit stumped for ideas!

Op is very unpleasant, and he needs a general anesthetic, which I am a bit worried about but other than that I hope he will be ok soon. He has been signed off for the whole week though. So I am planning on utilising him as a babysitter so he better had not be to incapacitated!

Lizzzombie · 08/10/2007 13:03

EAH - ps - Hattie is in good company, I love In the Night Garden. Its fantastic! So does my sister! (aged 28)
Also, didnt you know its the law to have a birthday cake on your birthday. My Mums cake was a choc fudge cake decorated with those shell like chocolate praulines....L.U.S.H!!!

laughalot · 08/10/2007 13:39

nom nom cake

canmummy · 08/10/2007 14:03

Ooh - any cake left for me? Happy Birthday DH!

I went back to work last week and although I only work 2 days/week I'm absolutely knackered! (Hence why I've not been on for a while) Found it really hard work as the computer system's changed so don't know how to do a thing. Also found out my replacement (who's staying till end of the year) is refusing to move out of my room as she finds change stressful I'll just work around you then love

We went to have some Venture photos done on Saturday which was great fun. We've had them done when all of them were babies so can't wait to see the results but will need a 2nd mortgage to pay for them.

Good news about mil in that her breast lump didn't show any cancer BUT they didn't get a good enough quality sample so she has to have it repeated in a couple of weeks. Said I'd go with her again.

Need to tidy up now my friend came round with her lo this am - gave me 10 mins notice she was coming Thank goodness she has 6 kids of her own so my house will always look immaculate next to hers

LadyTophamHatt · 08/10/2007 17:12

2Happy, am i going mad? have you been AWOL fopr ages?
I did ask a few days ago where you were but no-one answered me and now you've just slipped back into the trhead wothout saying you've been away.

Have I had PNthreadposter blindness???

I've just spent a hour or so reading a couple of our Ante-natal threads. Make me feel quite...hmmmm.....dunno really....I think i miss being PG

eandh · 08/10/2007 17:27

lth my dh is very broody and desperate for another baby - however, I am NOT ever ever ever going to have another one so he'll have to be broody!!

theUrbanDryad · 08/10/2007 17:40

EAH - do you really mean that? you don't want to have a little boy? boys are great!

LadyTophamHatt · 08/10/2007 17:41

thjats a turn around Eandh, a while ago HE was saying no more and you said maybe you'd like one more.

whats changed?/

LadyTophamHatt · 08/10/2007 17:47

OMG, i near;y in tears here...
DS4 didn't wnat his milk so Iput him in his chair while I strted dinner.
Sometimes he'll drink it while he;s sitting there but mostly not.

Anyway. He took the bottle out of my hands and is doing it himslef, while I sit here with bleary eyes telling you lot.

Ohhhhh, I don't want him to grow up.

bunnyhunny · 08/10/2007 17:51

well, I am keeping the name :P

Dragon- happy birthday . Hope you had a good day, despite no post!

Wilkie - I am the same with naming animals. I used to have gerbils called Dave and Bruno, and a fish called Ed. Now the names tend to be more descriptive - we have geckos called pinky and spotty-head.

All this talk of babies. I have somewhat backtracked on what i was saying last week, and 'forgot' my pill a couple of times last week. I am dicing with disaster here.... luckily, we never have sex anyway ( according to dh - so who is it I am shagging?!)

I am back on the prozac. Took me a while to realise I need them again, but was becoming a bit psycho! Now I am fuzzy headed, forgetful, have LOADS of energy, but relatively sane. I was sitting on the settee eating raisins with S and realised this is actually really nice

eandh · 08/10/2007 17:57

no no no no more babies - UD I just know we'd have another girl but that wouldn't bother dh but honestly I find being a mum/going ot work hard enough and one more would mean finding childcare (both mums have always said they'd only have 2 children.

Would also would mean moving etc etc plus I love it with my 2 girls they are gorgeous wonderful, funny etc etc but damn hard work and all credit to all of you with more than 2 I take my hat off to you (if I was wearing one!) and the worst thought would be being pregnant and having my 2 to deal with. I do have odd days of looking at Hattie and wondering where the last 9 months have gone (to bloody fast!) but also think that we have a 'perfect' life 98% of the time and I want to keep that

Shimmer · 08/10/2007 19:01

Ahhhhhh lth. How wonderful and sad at the same time

Freddie is 9 months today! It has gone mega fast in some respects. But I also feel like he's always been here iykwim, it's sort of hard to believe he's only been with us for 9 months.

You 'forgot' ratfly?? Like forgot on purpose forgot??

EAH I reckon i'm gonna stop at 2 as well. I can't imagine my DP EVER being broody! He just wants to have another one quite soon so that we can get it over and done with I think!

Shimmer · 08/10/2007 19:03

OH and HAPPY BITHDAY DRAGONHART!!!!

WizardofWilkdom · 08/10/2007 19:12

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DH!!!!!!!!!!!

That is as entustiastic as anyone is gonna get tonight cos went to WW and despite sticking RELIGIOUSLY to my diet - and lost 2 lb. What's the point???? BF lost 5lb - which is fantastic and I am really chuffed for her cos she has more to lose than me. MEH MEH MEH - that is how I feel.

Babies - Ooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I am starting to get broody. Every now and then I read our ante-natal thread and feel nostalgic although I can't imagine being pg without you lot again Me and DH will prob start trying next Crimbo.

Can I post something without sounding ??? J is walking holding onto one of my hands. He walks everywhere with me, we walked round Asda like it. He looks SO amazingly cute. We have bought him some NEXT 12-18 month shoes (which are a size 3 if anyone else has had LO's feet measured) and fit perfectly.

OK, excitable mother over with.

LTH - that is so cute re G drinking his milk. It is scary how fast time is flying past

HunnyBunny - I have switched from Prozac to Citalopram and feel good. Prozac was giving me headache and knocked my libido on the head.

EAH - awwwwww, I was hoping you were gonna have another LO

geoRGEEweasley · 08/10/2007 19:13

Happy birthday Dragon!

Yeah, 2H where you been?

EaH well done on the weight loss. Keep saying ' I really must...' (lose weight / go running / keep up with everyone on MN ..delete as applicable) but never quite made it. And Xmas will be here before we know it ,and I'll just have to eat that whole tub of Quality Street.....

Canmummy good news re mil. Fingers crossed for next visit. Also pmsl at your stressed colleague.

LTH do you rent yourself out as an auntie? I reckon if we have another I will happily lend him/her to you

QUESTION - do any of you still use your ssterilisers? I religiously sterilise her two bottles each day but given the amount of fluff / various crap she rakes up from my unhoovered floor am beginning to think I am creating work for myself. Plus need the kitchen space for new kitchen gadget (slow cooker...as tempted by EaH)
