Are we all telepathic?

Conversation between me and dh today:
Me: "I'm bored of staying at home"
Dh: "I'd love to be bored"
Me: "And have no structure to your day, not have anywhere to go, no-one to talk to, and continue that for the whole week?"
DH: "I see what you mean

Needless to say I'm counting down to be back at work - a week on Tuesday!

And I went shopping today but couldn't bring myself to try on a pair of skinny jeans!

Need to go my blood sugar dropping (I'm diabetic) and typing getting awful - am having to re-do every other word! Will re-visit later or tomorrow depending on how I feel!

Ahhhhhhhh thanks girls. My saviours. I thought I was the only one but I see not. I love this thread - don't know what I would do without you all.

Feeling a bit happier today too which is good, DH off so we are going to buy an aquarium (I am a complete and utter animal/pet freak - J will be so impressed when he is older and can have all the pets he likes )

Big kisses all round.

Must get thinking cap on for Secret Santa. Am a bit stuck ATM.

Trixy - gutted about your cats but at least you have a definite diagnosis.

PCF - I still think you are a brave lady trying for No 3

LAL - glad your hols was good and that A is enjoying school!!! So grown up

LTH - moth eaten halo: mine is just a bit tarnished and bent

....shit must go, J screaming that he is awake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eandh · 21/09/2007 10:43

wilkie - we have an aquarium (tropical fish) be careful what fish you buy and get advice as we mixed the wrong fish when we first got ours (about 5 years ago) and tiger barbs ate all the neons!

We have mollys that breed now so we started with 6 black mollys and now have around 22 plus neons and some other little colourful fish. Hattie gets mesmerised by the tank and teh bubbles very theraputic!!

How can anyone be possibly bored of being at home...
Bored?
BORED?
B O R E D

Does not even come close to what I feel on a daily basis.

I have 3 washing baskets of ironing to do. That will cure my bordom.

Went to look at a preschool nursery yesterday, they only have afternoons (3 hours) available from Feb next year. (only take from12 months) and no morning shifts for ages (4 hours) I need a morning one to make it worth while, so I can actually work. Oh yes, did I tell you I start at Primark in October. FUN!

Can't wait to go back to work PT though. Am going mental...has anyone noticed?!
rgee - mental people eat worms I'm telling you! (its a good way to get back into your skinny jeans! )

LTH - bummer about xmas party. If you didnt think I was too bad on Tuesday, do you want to arrange a more local xmas do? Its my birthday just before xmas anyway, so I normally try and arrange some kind of night out....please say yes. Please dont think I was a total weirdo...uh oh...gone to far with pleading! (I will of course ask MBPF too)

Lizzzombie · 21/09/2007 12:07

ps...eah & wilks: what do you do about the dead fish? that would so put me off having an aquarium, having to clean the darn thing.
ugh, something else to clean!

Lizzzombie · 21/09/2007 12:10

PPS - its like we are all in sync. I am on the blob this week too. Had f**king awful pmt, its so much worse since I've had LO. I was ready to kill anyone who got in my way. And woe betide DP who dared eat more than his share of chocolate which we had in the house. He felt so bad he brought me home a chocolate orange last night...ahh. I even let him have 2 segments. Whilst I troughed most of the rest. Ugh, no wonder skinny jeans dont fit. And muffin top resembles something much more scary.
(can't think of another analagy other than a muffin top)

Lizzzombie · 21/09/2007 12:13

muffintop

Lizzzombie · 21/09/2007 12:14

made me laugh anyway.

btw - did I say I had 3 baskets of ironing to do. (yes, I actually brought extra laundry baskets to accommodate it)

can anyone tell I am BORED!?

Carotte · 21/09/2007 12:17

I am not bored. I always seem to have something to do and anyway I've lived here a long time so I know lots of other people with babies to havr lunch with. I can remember however, feeling exactly like that with ds1. None of my friends had children then and the days draaaagged on so I know how you feel. I think I am making the most of it as F is probably my last one so I must resume some kind of career after, for now, I enjoy this.

canmummy · 21/09/2007 12:18

Oh - finally found out what a muffin top is and realised I have a huge one

canmummy · 21/09/2007 12:20

Lizz - stop mentioning ironing! I've loads to do and can no longer give the excuse of no lifting/ironing/housework. In fact, have at least 3 loads of washing to do as well (including dd2's wee'd on sheets ) but bearings have gone on my machine and it's sooo noisy!

Carotte · 21/09/2007 12:22

What do you iron? I don't iron anything really, the creases seem to come out on the line or in the dryer.

eandh · 21/09/2007 12:44

sad freak I am I dont mind ironing (in fact may make some extra cash doing it when ellie goes to infant school as depends what happens at work as to whether I can stay here with school hours)

Dead fish I get out with the net and dh actually cleans the tank (he likes rearranging the rocks etc no tacky stuff in our aquarium as its in the lounge!)

I remember being so so so so so so bored when it was just ellie and me we used to go to toddler group once a week then I used to be texting anyone who might be free to catch up. Not so mbad with two as they can entertain each other for a bit, plus 2 days a work, 2mornings at preschool means I am always running around.

geoRGEEweasley · 21/09/2007 12:47

I don't iron either. I much prefer to go around looking like a total scruff chav rather than get the iron out

Is it pi$$ing it down everywhere today, or just in Leeds? The rain is soooo heavy.

Am not bored btw. I've just taken DH to meet his mates for stag do, fed lo, cleaned the kitchen, played with lo, emptied the bins, gone to M&S to buy some nice goodies for my neighbour who's coming round later, put washing out (inside), new load of washing in, checked work emails, and eaten two crumpets for my lunch. LO is now sleeping hurrah!! When I write it down, it doesn't half sound dull though!

Someone cheer me up with tales of their exciting weekend ahead......

canmummy · 21/09/2007 12:54

I think I'm bored because my routine has changed so much recently. Weekday routines used to be dd1 to school by 8.50, dd2 to nursery ay 12.45. collect dd1 3.00, dd2 3.20. Monday morning mums and tots then after school swimming lessons, Tuesday day off from kids (ie work!), Wednesday morning mums and tots again, after school trip to library, Thursday gymnastics after school, Friday work again!

Now Monday morning mums and tots cancelled, Wednesday am most people I know have stopped going as their kids growing up but I'm still persevering! Swimming lessons kids got bored of and I objected to paying so much to make them miserable every week and gymnastics we're trying to change clubs so on a waiting list and not going at the moment.

Oh even this list of what I am and what I'm not doing is boring!!!

Just been inspired to have a healthy lunch and then I will tidy up while kids at school!!

canmummy · 21/09/2007 12:58

RGee - cross post and we said similar things! Yes, pi$$ing down here but I'm only in Bradford so not far! (Although weather here is sometimes colder/wetter than Leeds believe it or not!)

Talking of Leeds me and dh are going out for the whole day there next tues as we've no kids. We're having lunch there but haven't decided between Loch Fyne (been before and loved it), new Brasserie Blanc or Harvey Nicks. I'm going to do some serious shopping there as well (to hide previously mentioned muffin top ). Can't wait!!

eandh · 21/09/2007 13:06

I just had a lovely chunky tuna and weetcorn sandwich on granary bread from local bakers, was lovely to eat it without 2 pairs of eyes staring at me!!

eandh · 21/09/2007 13:08

weetcorn = sweetcorn (plus I had a dairy milk and a lovely cold fresh oj)

laughalot · 21/09/2007 13:17

laughalot · 21/09/2007 13:18

eandh · 21/09/2007 13:48

LAL Can you quote me your last minute deal for july 2024 to jamaica (mtg will be repaid and it'll be our 21st wedding anniversary!)

2Happy · 21/09/2007 15:19

Oh fukkkit!

Am so knackered I can barely funciton and I just burnt the rice pud.

2 pints of wasted milk and no pud for ds1.

Tis sunny here, though....

OP posts:
Lizzzombie · 21/09/2007 16:24

Shh, 2 happy, just open a tin of rice pud up and heat it up. I promise DS1 wont know the difference, and I wont tell anyone!

2Happy · 21/09/2007 17:36

It's ok, I'm forgiven - I took him up to the farm, he's forgotten all about the rice pudding. Mmmm, ambrosia creamed rice though, yum.

I think he may have been a little confused at my previous earnest explanations of wheat and how it makes flour which is used to make bread. We were looking at (and nibbling on ) kernels, and I asked him what it's used for. He said "to make Wendy's flowers"
