April 2007 - As 6 months has passed, a time to reflect on just how lucky we are

It's easy to forget just how lucky we are to have beautiful healthy children

Our thoughts are with Vio and her family

And I'm sure we're all thinking of those that have been absent lately, and hoping that they know they can return to us if they need us at any time, no questions asked

PINIONS, SMOLE, MUMINA..., NUTTY, OCTO, (AND ANYONE ELSE I'VE MISSED)...........

sorry, feeling soppy

Mmk, I never realised that you had been through such a terrible loss too. Knew about the ivf, but no more than that. So glad that you now have the family you so richly deserve. It really sounds like your children are cherished. Lovely to read

mammyjo · 12/09/2007 21:23

Off now, hope to see you back soon mmk. Night all xxx

mmk · 12/09/2007 21:26

night night mammyjo. have a luverly kip.

Yes, we have been through so much, but oh! when I hold my children close to me, oh! Usually each time I hug them, a small tear trickles down my cheek, and Dh sniles at me. he knows.

weeonion · 12/09/2007 21:33

mmk - so nce to have you back! that is a lovely idea to send flowers for vio and james. the funeral is at 9am on friday at Daldowie Crematorium
Daldowie Estate, Uddingston, Glasgow, Lanarkshire G71 7RU Tel: 0141 771 1004

as gmm said - she is so strong, and feels she has to be for him. we will be going and i'll make sure to pass on your thoughts.

i think for alot of us - teh bubbas have been held that wee bit tighter since hearing the sad news. times like this really do throw things into sharp perspective.

elkiedee · 12/09/2007 21:36

mmk, I assume that Pillock aka Ellie was suggesting that Pesha enlists some help from SexonLegs - SOL for short - who works in personnel and can therefore tell us what employers are looking at/for on applications and CVs etc.

I don't think we were posting at the same time before, or if we were I probably wasn't reading and taking in the thread content, but it's nice to meet you as a returner. Hope you find time to stick around or pop back from time to time.

Pesha, it sounds like you're putting in useful stuff, and I'm sure you'd be great at the job. I always found it worked better for public sector application forms if I structured what I wrote around the job description and/or person spec - just a point or two for each of theirs. You may well have far more to say but I think there's something to be said for keeping it focused. But I will soon have been employed in my current post as a secretary in a council legal dept for 9 years so it's a while since I've filled in a form. You can see I'm out of practice at avoiding waffle! Good luck, anyway.

StealthPolarBear · 12/09/2007 21:38

mmk you've made me cry
if you are happy to organise a tribute please can I contribute
At least she might know we're thinking about her and not taking anything for granted
Let me know about the tribute if you can - [email protected] either can paypal you or send a cheque. I check my email every day
(well probably about every 10 minutes in practice )

geordiemacminx · 12/09/2007 21:39

WO has the name of the funeral director but I know that its Daldowie Crem,at 9.00am on Friday, which is Mount Vernon. The nearest town to get flowers is Uddingston, which is where I live, the local florist is Designer flowers. Any florist in South Lanarkshire should deliver to there though?

StealthPolarBear · 12/09/2007 21:39

elkie - good point about person spec!

geordiemacminx · 12/09/2007 21:41

x-posts there WO.

AngeG · 12/09/2007 21:49

Hello Ladies

MMK great to have you back, your posts have made me cry, your children are truly lucky to have you as their mum.

I too would like to contribute to flowers. Please email me on [email protected].

Sorry haven't remembered much else. I am supposed to be drying my hair at the moment but got caught up in reading MMK's posts.

Have emailed you Ellie xx

Peshatlast · 12/09/2007 21:55

MMK - that made me cry too

Elkie and SPB -person spec would be great if I had one All I have is a letter dd bought home in her school bag saying lunchtime classroom supervisor needed asap and hours and pay. And all they gave me today is a standard application form so I'm guessing all the way! And trying to get it back in asap as no deadline is specified so who knows what they're doing.
Would be ideal for me though as dp could have D for me as its only 1hour 15mins (30 with travel) and D shouldnt even need a feed in that time. Obviously its not alot of money but its enough to make a difference, especially with xmas on the way.
And I have been searching all over the internet for work from home opportunities so if some of them come through I should be able to put off getting a job with longer hours until D is old enough to be left longer without worrying about bfing.

Hi ladies

MMK, lovely to see you back, and I also had not realised what a dreadful time you have had in the past. The poem you typed up made me cry - very moving. Really glad all is going well with you and yours.

GMM, thanks for the update re Vio. I too would be happy to contribute to some flowers. What is the best way to do this?

Pesha, my HR brain is mush tonight, but I think what you have writte already should stand you in good stead for the job. Good luck with it. xx

Maveta, good to see you, and good on you for keeping up the jogging!

SPB, pmsl at creases making it more interesting! I am with you on that one. Dh has said that I can now send out the ironing and I am over the moon. I just have no time to do it.

Hope everyone is ok. I have been pureeing fruit and veg this evening - deep joy! I hope she bloody well likes it. Gave K a rusk today just to see what she thought, and I have never seen such a screwed up face!

Well, I am heading to bed, so see you lovely ladies in the morning. xx

Sexonlegs · 12/09/2007 22:03

xposted with loads of you. Will email you pillock!!

Hi Ange!

AngeG · 12/09/2007 22:04

Hi SOL I too have been pureeing the last few days. Pear and apple have gone down well so far!

elkiedee · 12/09/2007 22:04

On a frivolous note, Pillock, the thread you posted a link to is hilarious. I haven't read the MM threads at all.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 12/09/2007 22:06

ah, but did you read my spider thread?
now that was funny

PillockOfTheCommunity · 12/09/2007 22:08

mmk
I am forwarding emails to you, can you just let me know when you receive them xx

Pesha, sounds like you've given the application your best shot under the circumstances. I hope the fact that they haven't given you more details of what they're after means that they don't expect lots of applications.

Do you know how your local authority advertises other jobs for school support staff? Presumably they do more than send letters home with your kids for other jobs? The council I work for puts up jobs on its public website as well as ads in the papers.

elkiedee · 12/09/2007 22:18

I'd missed your spider thread, thanks for the laughs, I needed that.

mmk · 12/09/2007 22:18

No e-mails have come to me yet.

i've been online and ordered flowers, but have a thought. It would be better if they go to funeral parlour, so they go on the car and arrive at the house,do you know where that is?

Would anyone like to edit the text for the card?

For James and his mummy, you are both in our thoughts and hearts
