Evening all

Hope everyone is ok, have only managed to skim read.

DH passed his fleet board, yay! It was awful he said but at least it is all done now. He will be home every night now, wahoooooo!!!

SOH wean that baby, please dont orture yourself, she needs it, it is for her you are doing it. Bollocks to the 26 weeks, some just wont wait. All of mine have been different and you just have to trust your instinct. DD, Hugs and the twins were all about 4-5 months, Jonah was the only one that didnt want it or need it till 6 months. Beau will not be waiting till 6 months im sure, he already stares intently as i eat. Do i have to come all the way to Norfolk and feed her myself? They all went from a teaspoon of baby rice to consuming brekkie, lunch and tea in a few weeks too.

Right lecture over sorry Love and hugs to you too xx

Hope the rst of you are all well, im looking forward to going home and getting back in to some kind of rountine with them all home. Course by friday i may well be back on the gin

I still have a stone to lose it is really annoying me. Salad for me when i get home >

MrsJB how is the peaceful house? Lovely i expect, hope your friend is bearing up well too.

Am on the gin tonight, have had a ridiculously crappola day, seems the world conspiring against me. Couldnt get jeans, have blisters on feet, invisible car day (do you get those?) lost DH in town, phone out of credit etc....

Sorry to moan, sure the gin will kick in soon

anyone else? >

Hallo Girls,

Just a quickie to say hello. Haven't got time to catch up today, but at least I'm back online

House is a mare, O still feeding 2 hourly and I have a flat to let. All go here...

At least I can fit in my trousers again

Juicylucytoo · 31/08/2007 21:37

but still not my jeans

Not so smug of Bethnal Green

LWandLottie · 31/08/2007 22:00

Hello!

Exam was a nightmare, don't think I've passed! Oh well, we'll wait and see.

On a plus note, I went shopping and bought lots of nice clothes for myself. Must become trendy again lol! Also bought this for Charlotte to put all her toys in. She's taking an interest in stuff now and I'm sick of my floor being covered in baby toys! Oh and Lupins if you're wanting a presto they're going quite cheap on ebay right now. Presto's on ebay

A really nice guy sent me and email the other day out of the blue. He is so lovely! He's a sniper in the special forces, currently in Iraq. Only catch? He lives in Atlanta, USA! Just my luck. My horoscope said I'd meet someone, just failed to mention he'd barley be on the same planet as me!

C's been a dream during the nights, sleeping all the way through. Sometimes till 9am - bliss! Hope all are well, will catch up tomorrow x

SuperMonkey · 01/09/2007 11:59

Morning all

You took some tracking down - I go away for a week and you've all moved!

Hols were good, marred a little by the boy's teething and general grizzliness, but never mind. He screamed all the way back on the plane . You can tell I'm new to this game - went away without Calpol and the best they could offer me in the German chemists were paracetamol suppositories! None of us felt up to the task so he had to carry on grizzling. All routine out of the window too as has any semblence of sleeping through - last night he woke at 10:30pm, 12:30am, 2:00am, 3:00am (at which point I got fed up of getting out of bed and dragged him in with me), 5:00am and 6:00am. He's also decided that BFing is boring and he can get the whole feeding thing out of the way much quicker with a bottle - feeling a bit sad about it as I'm obviously more attached to BFing than he is. Ho hum. I think the waking up last night was mainly hunger because he didn't get enough from BFing in the day, so I'm giving in and bottle feeding him in the main today.

And I've got a cold, which I expect the boy will also be getting soon .

Other than that we're just peachy!

cameroonmama · 01/09/2007 19:19

Evening all,

Congrats to mrlg&t! Does it mean less days at sea for your dh?

Hi Juicy, congrats on your new house, is it all exciting, still in east london? Talking of east london have you heard from Befnalbub? She hasn't been on for a while.

And well done LW on even taking an exam

Hello supermonkey, I hope your day has been a bit better today.

Still 1 stone to go here, though I squeeeeeezed into a pair of 12 jeans today and felt quite pleased with myself

At the park today I got Mutsy buggy envy and have been doing some research. LG&T don't you have one? I quite fancy the light version but only if I can pick up a bargain on ebay..how do you find it? Is it easy to steer?

aprilmeadow · 01/09/2007 19:56

Well we have a tooth here! Only a little bit of it can be seen but it is definately there. I guess that explains the grumpy, dribbly hand chewing little lady i have had for the last week!

Fingers crossed that you have passed your exam LW&L. When do you get your results?

Have 9lbs to lose until i reach pre children weight, but only 2lbs to go until pre Ella weight. Cant believe that she will be 5mths next Monday. Where has the time gone?? (sounds a bit like the song from Me Too on CBeebies) We (dh&I) are going to join a gym to try and get my weight shifted and for him to tone up.

SM, sorry to hear that your little man was not too happy with the teething issue on holiday.

aprilmeadow · 02/09/2007 08:03

Another crap night in our house. Ella was up 3 times AGAIN. I gave her calpol last night to help with the teething and also in the hope that it might make her sleep - WRONG! I think this is the sign i needed for actually starting the weaning process. Ds was definately ready for it when i started him at 17weeks and i think she must also be ready. She will be 21wks on Tuesday so have managed to make her last a few extra weeks.

I hope you all had better nights and those that are feeling poorly are feeling more human.

SKYTVADDICT · 02/09/2007 09:01

Morning all

Been keeping up but not much to post from here.

Congrats MrLG&T and fingers crossed LW for your results.

C been sleeping through all week again (he was 17 weeks yesterday) so am holding off on the weaning for a while.

B/f going ok but sometimes feel I could do with a break. Started taking Spatone again yesterday to see if it makes me feel less tired.

Money a problem at the mo what with new school uniform for DD1 etc - hardly got any left and still 3 weeks to go until pay day! Will be going overdrawn very soon.

SKYTVADDICT · 02/09/2007 09:02

Also, wow a tooth am!

C very dribbly and chewy too so something on the move somewhere

aprilmeadow · 02/09/2007 09:49

Am slightly nervous as to how the tooth will effect bf'ing. Wont do much now, but once it is properly through and can be chomped with.

cameroonmama · 02/09/2007 10:32

Wow April a tooth, how exciting! I found that bf and teeth were never a problem, if they are really hungry then they won't bite just suck, dd never bit me and ds1 only did it once when he was comfort feeding and was about 10 months old.

Lots of drool here too...

Juicylucytoo · 02/09/2007 11:07

wow teeth! I think we're a way off that here. O will be 3mths tomorrow.

Happily, my scales are still packed away in a box, so I don't actually know my weight. I can delude myself by squeezing back into my clothes that all the excess weight has gone

BB has been galavating about on hols, so should be back soon.

Was an ok night here after an absolutely shite day yesterday. He was grizzly all day. Wouldn't feed properly, kept throwing up what he'd eaten and wouldn't sleep. Generally an all round disaster. But I think he exhausted himself, so he actually slept until 10 this morning (with wake times at 1, 4, 6, 7 and 8:30). But absolutely great as far as I'm concerned!

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 02/09/2007 11:41

Hello hello hello!

Am feeling quite chipper this morning as LadyTank slept for 4 straight hours last night. Now I know this is peanuts compared to some of your 7-7ers but believe me, 4 hours straight is the best we've managed in 6 weeks. Trouble is, instead of being fully refreshed and revived, I've had a taste of what I'm missing and have turned into some kind of sleep junkie looking for my next fix. Currently wobbling round the house, clutching a pillow and babbling about my next hit. Have also started spatone again SkyTV as have felt shocking and I think it may be working.

LG&T, congratulations to N. What rank is he now? I can't work out the Naval promotion system. Y'see the army's easy, back when I was young, fit and in the TA, I knew what was what, who to salute and who worked for a living. Navy on the other hand makes no sense whatsoever. BTW, your birthday present was returned to sender! I presume it's because you're in Plymouth right? Let me know when you're home again and I'll re-send. Have attempted to befriend you on Facebook but only just joined so not entirely sure what I'm doing although I am aware that I have broken the rules already as there is a picture of me breastfeeding on there. I care not, I'm modelling my infamous straw hat.

Babies with teeth! I can't believe it. I keep staring absentmindedly at the May 2008 antenatal thread and wondering where the time went. Tomorrow is a year since I found out that I was pregnant and am surprised how broody I am. It is extremely important that you slap me now.

Anybody know when babies find their feet? Tank has been heaving her feet up and staring at them, but I'm not entirely sure she knows they're hers yet. She also likes to bang them together like a slightly wonky attempt at Pat-a-cake.

Oh gotta go, BabyTank is hipthrusting her way across the floor and is about to attack a sleeping cat.

Oh and I've applied for a provisional driving licence today. God help all road users.

SuperMonkey · 02/09/2007 13:26

Another crap night here too April - the boy had me up 3 times then woke for the day at 4:30am. He's 17 weeks this week so I think we might be trying solids too.

Thinking back fondly to those weeks of sleeping through the night..

MKG · 02/09/2007 16:23

Today marks the one year anniversary of the last time I had sex, aka Cruz' conception day. I can't believe it.

This little funny guy has started teething, but since he doesn't like a pacifier he sucks his hands. Well he has given himself hickies on his wrists from sucking himself so hard.

aprilmeadow · 02/09/2007 17:49

Hey all

The baby rice went down a treat Slurped her way through it and was even looking for more. I guess i wont know if it has worked until tonight. I think i have made the right decision and just hope it makes a difference to her sleeping.

Just cleaned out my car in preparation for tomorrow when i give it back and pick up my new one. Feel a bit sad as it is a lovely car, but also very excited about my new one.

Hope everyone has had a good Sunday

Lupins71 · 02/09/2007 18:19

cameroonmama · 02/09/2007 18:43

Lups, sorry you got the bug too, hope you are soon feeling better. Thanks for the mutsy tip, you are the pram expert, how do you rate it? I have a techno xt which is great..am not really sure why I would need another buggy, but I seem to have got a hankering for it or a loola

aprilmeadow · 02/09/2007 20:31

Lups, sorry to hear that you have been unwell and hope that you have seen the last of it.

Mum2G · 02/09/2007 20:59

Hi All

Sorry you have not been well Lupins, did you get your webcam sorted?

Glad the baby rice went down well AM

Fingers crossed for your exam results LW

Glad you had a good holiday Supermonkey

Good luck with the driving FormerSOH! i am planning to restart lessons in the not too distant future

had a great weekend, my brother and his family came today, they live about 2 hrs away, it was so nice to have all the family round the dinner table, i have drunk far too much wine today so DH is on baby duty!

G dribbly too, and sucking on hands so maybe teething too. He is now nearly a stone on weight - too heavy for me to cart round for ages shushing him to sleep - so he will have to get used to just being rocked in the chair.

Got g a bumbo which he seems to enjoy sitting in for short spells, am also trying to up his tummy time as he doesn't like it very much, he is making great efforts at trying to roll over, it is so cool to watch, he has also just started to reach out for things, he gigled his head off this morning when he had a fist full of my hair, the little monkey!

twelveyeargap · 02/09/2007 21:54

Hello All. I'm afraid I had to skim a bit there.

MKG - Great news about the job and super about the house too. Great time to be buying a "doer upper" in the US, I believe, whilst the market is flat.

April - A tooth! A has been grizzly, dribbly and chewing her hands for the last few days and waking up a lot more at night. At only three months, she surely can't be teething too??? Perhaps it's a growth spurt... She was up ever hour and a half to two hours the other night. Gagh! After she had been doing one four or five hour stint at night, it was a bit of a 'mare. Am going through that stage now, where you've coped with the broken sleep and suddenly, it just catches up and knocks you for six.

Have just posted a miserable rant about trying to book A's baptism...

Lupins71 · 02/09/2007 22:00

CAM I have a loola travel system with creatis car seat if your interested, can say i have tried a mutsy but they do look nice, but big for me tho, tachno xt very practical - but i personally dont like strollers that much

AM well done on the baby rice, Arlen is a right piggy now, tnite he had carrot, swede & baby rice, followed but puree of melon & banana with baby rice - and he always eats everything lol - didnt you get a new car last year?? Hope the new ones nice

Mum2G no not got the webcam working yet - but only because we havent been online at the same time as each other, sure it will work - i followed your dh's instructions so thanks for that

Must try and get Arlen going tummy time, dont really do any only the odd 5 mins

On the weight front 8lb to go for pre Arlen, hopefully i will get on the scales tomorrow following my sickness and it will be a bit less, oh why oh why must i be addicted to chocolate and thanks to some of you (i mention no names) donuts!!!

Hope you all have some good sleep

twelveyeargap · 02/09/2007 23:13

Oh am thinking of buying a cheap second hand buggy on ebay to keep in the boot of the car. I love my mountain buggy, but it takes up the whole boot. And I have a ginormous boot...

Am thinking not a stroller, maybe something that my Maxi-Cosi Cabrio clips onto, but which doesn't weigh a ton. Does such a thing exist?

The car seat clipping onto it would be a bonus, rather than a must, though... Is there such a thing as an umbrella fold pushchair that isn't a stroller?

elkiedee · 02/09/2007 23:58

TYG, isn't your A 4 months old now? I thought she was due in May and born in April while my ds was the other way round. (Hence I started to gatecrash here in April/early May when I was fed up waiting). Anyway, he's been teething for a few weeks and we think we've spotted a tooth.

Also, re cheap secondhand buggy, might be worth keeping an eye on Freecycle - some amazing stuff people offer on the Haringey one which I've just joined. My mum picked up two travel systems on freecycle up in Ilkley, I sent the Maxi Cosi one which included a gigantic all terrain pram on huge wheels back to Yorkshire with her, I don't know if you remember me turning up with it in Bethnal Green that day. The other pram is still big but it is easier on buses, though we're now starting to use a stroller which I did buy new. I suppose people get rid of the larger and more cumbersome buggies sooner though.

Maybe you could look at Maxi Cosi and other manufacturers/retailers' websites to see what sorts of things they make before looking to pick up a secondhand one.

Finally, SOH and anyone else, are those of you on Facebook on the mumsnet group. It can be hard matching mn usernames and real life names as often on Facebook.
