April - I'm so jealous, I've got 10 (count them) shirts to iron at some point today. OK, it may not be as much as some people, but I hate ironing, I would do pretty much anything else if I didn't have to iron.

My instinct was telling me that Seth wanted food, and it seemed I was right as he's guzzling away at pretty much anything I give him and he's a happier baby. My HV was very positive about it too. Some people though make me feel a bit guilty that I'm doing him damage by overloading his digestive system too early. My view really is that, if you live in Rwanda for example, then BFing until 6 months is bound to be the most healthy option for a baby. In the developed world though with our ability to sterilise, there's no harm in being a bit more practical about it. Thanks for your feedback, makes me feel better

cameroonmama · 23/09/2007 09:47

Ironically, unless you live in the bush in Africa, an African is more likely to stuff their baby full of a cereal type food at three months than exclusively bf them to 6 months

SKYTVADDICT · 23/09/2007 10:48

Hello all

Not much chance to catch up, really busy in the Sky household. Going to have to stop all my socialising.

SOH hope you and M are feeling a bit better now and that F is getting over his pox MID.

Supermonkey - both DDs weaned at 16 weeks (with no ill effects so far) but managed to keep C until he was 19 weeks.

Weaning going ok, kept on baby rice for a week but yesterday moved to baby rice with apple, today doing apple with baby rice (made too much rice yesterday ). Also have cooked and frozen sweet potato, apple and carrot so have a fun week to come.

C sleeping ok most nights, has a feed occasionally in the night but not very often. Why am I so tired! Been taking Spatone but keep forgetting.

Hello to everyone else, I will try to keep up in future I promise - but I have just agreed to DD2 joining swimming club on Wednesdays. That will be Brownies on Monday, Gym Tuesday and Thursday and Swimming Wednesday! OMG, no wonder I am so tired. That is without my coffee on Monday and Wednesday, lunch on Wednesday and baby group on Friday. My baby group friend wants me to go swimming with her on wednesday - not sure I have the energy to be honest!

I thought we were all lovely lol

LWandLottie · 23/09/2007 15:16

Hello all

Having a lovely weekend, my older sister has come up from London to see us all. She was rather at how much Lottie has grown!

Just popping in to say hi and hope you're all having nice weekends. Will be on later to catch up.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 23/09/2007 19:07

Hi all, hope you've had a lovely weekend.

Lw, I saw it too, did you see my response? I don't think we are that bad, I read back on the thread for the beggining of Aug when lilaura was back on. It was when we all had our little say on controlled crying.

Dh insisted we went out for the day today, sigh.......
We headed for the beach as we used to live in Bournemouth and now live in a field we miss the sea. We found a lovely little bay about an hour from us, the sand was lovely but there were jelly fish in the sea & huge ones washed up too so H&M couldn't go near the water which was a bit of a shame. Still we had a nice day and put our bit in the pot for scoot on the way home.
All in bed now so I'm going to sort the washing out and do some ironing, Oh the joy's.................................

LW - everyone is allowed to have their own opinions. I think that there is an element of truth in what she said actually. I dont think it was necessary to have copied and posted on this thread tbh. Makes me wonder if you were the one that copied something i posted on here onto the April 05 thread not so long ago.......

largeginandtonic · 23/09/2007 19:39

I missed that! Hmmmmm, wonder if it was in relation to us?

Life too short.....

A very nasty virus attacked our PC and DH has had to wipe it and re load everything in the last 24 hrs. All done, panic over, mumsnet link back up

B is scoffing his carrots and is furious when his pot is finished! All mine have been different and can only echo what the others have been saying about trusting your instincts.

MID i really hope little Freddie is feeling better, i have a bit of a fear issue with the pox. DS #4 had it very badly, saying that the other 3 were ok with it. Hugs and Beau are as yet unscathed.

SOH my lovely hope you and M are feeling better. Will definatly call this week when you have your voice back.

Have been baking today, like a lunatic. A lemon cake, lemon traybake and a chocolate traybake. Came in useful when the bloody rabbit, Jemima, escaped out the back gate and half the estate came out in force to trap it. DH and i poured the red wine in the end to cope with the stress A lovely neighbour said it would go nice with rabbit DH agreed The cake fed everyone afterwards (not the rabbit)

Have been having issues with numptey ex p this weekend. He wants Hugs to stay with him for a month! Says as he is not at school he could stay and not miss anything... except me, dh and all his brothers and sister,
routine, playschool, me, dh. Told him 2 weeks was plenty and that the latter half of the 2nd week he would have all the others round him too as it will be half term. He didnt seem pleased It is his bloody girlfriend who is lovely whore would be looking after him anyway as he will be working! Deep breaths...

Am of to attempt to catch up on the multiples thread now, an impossible task as they all drink at the weekends and gossip way in to the night Course i dont do that...

hehe

largeginandtonic · 23/09/2007 20:09

Cross posts AM... Cant believ it took me half an hour to write that post! Gas bag that i am

SuperMonkey · 23/09/2007 20:21

Think I might join you in that vino LG&T - the ironing is still winking at me from the corner. If I don't do it then DP and DSD will have nothing to wear to work/school tomorrow - that'll teach 'em.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 23/09/2007 20:30

I'll join you too lg&t, I should be ironing booo hooo, was very motivated to do it earlier then spoke to AM on the phone and geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee she doesn't stop talking. Can't be bothered now to iron, tomorrow will do, I'll have a glass of wine instead.

lg&t glad you got Jemima back, was she escaping from hugs chasing her. at your ex, big decision a month is a long time out of his "normal" routine. You'd be beside yourself.

I'm well aware that everybody is entitled to their own opinions. I was just taken back when I saw what LL had written on that thread, I don't like the idea of people feeling uncomfortable on this board by what we say. I feel for LL if that is how she does feel, but can't help but be a bit about it all especially as we were all supportive when she was having problems with her dh. Like I said I was just a bit but perhaps I'm just reading it differently to how it was intended. I also think that it's a bit harsh to post something like that on a public forum when I feel we have all been nice to her.

I don't see the problem in posting it on here, as it's already on another board. It was not done to be spiteful, but if ll feels uncomfortable on here then at least we all know that now. But as you said in your post, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and mine is that I thought what she said was a bit unfair.

As for the matter of whatever was posted on the April thread, all I can say is that I have no idea what you are talking about. The only reason I posted what ll said was because she seemed to be talking about the group, I therefore thought that as a group we might be interested to know how she felt. Whatever was said between you and the April 05 ladies had nothing to do with me so why would I get involved? Please point the finger at somebody who was far more likely to have done whatever it was.

cameroonmama · 23/09/2007 21:32

Right, lets all calm down and drink some of that lovely vino LG&T has offered and certainly NOT think about ironing or tidying up the playroom which looks like a bomb has hit it or think about all the admin of moving house, new schools, new country, renting out two houses in England, what to buy in advance, when to ship it aaaaaaagggggghhhhhhh

Dh's work permit has come through, its official we are going to Nairobi

April, I really need a spreadsheet now.

scootermum · 23/09/2007 21:33

Hi all,

Well it was a false alarm..(but I will still have some of yer chocolate loaf Cam )I went and bought a test on Saturday morning which cost me £11..negative (first time in my life Ive done a negative test!, quite odd-have been 3 for 3 postive before including my angel baby that I mc'd)And AF has now arrived late and with a vengeance..I get nasty back ache when my AF is round..sigh..(must say although I am relieved-not so sure I could deal with another baby-I have also surprised myself by being a bit dissapointed Maybe I wont stop at two afterall!)

Well I hope DS had a good birthday Pebble..and that he gets into the school-would be great if he could get away from those little blighters..

Jelly fish give me the willies Mrs JB..Yuck yuck..Do the french have arcades at the sea side I wonder, or is that confined to us Brits?

Not a big red wine drinker largegandt..you got anything else?Tell exp to bugger off..take Hugs for a month indeed..

Barry Scott and his shiny penny sold Cilit bang to me Cam..I have to admit it..I also like it as it smells reassuringly chemical and practically takes the skin off when you get it on your hands..hole in the ozone layer y'say?

My DH and I went to Bird world once when he lived in Reading April..I liked it but DH has got a thing about winged creatures..poss not the best choice of day out for him then, Duh!He much preferrred Beale Park!

Golly-I dont really remember anything about controlled crying getting very heated or anything..what a shame if we upset someone..but agree with largegandt..lifes too short..im sure we didnt mean it..(although who copied something about April?..I dont remember that either..but then I remember little TBH..Between preg head and baby brain Ive a mind like a sieve)

My BF came today to take me to the pictures as a surpise to give me a break from the hideous packing..saw Atonement..despite my well known abhorrence of Keira Chinley I must say I loved it..and will now go round speaking like a posho from the 1940's all week as a sort of homage to it...

cameroonmama · 23/09/2007 21:33

I couldn't possibly be without Hugs for a month, its only been a few days and I am already having withdrawal symptoms

cameroonmama · 23/09/2007 21:35

I kind of imagined you spoke like that anyway Scoot

scootermum · 23/09/2007 21:36

Two houses Missus?Good lord..are you some sort of proerty magnate?

I wanted to meet you before you went,(without wishing to sound too stalkerish)Chances of me getting to Nairobi are slim TBH)

scootermum · 23/09/2007 21:37

No..only in company. Most of't time ah speak as if ah'm down't pit with me whippet and a pint 'o' Mild..

Mrsjaffabiffa · 23/09/2007 21:43

lol cam....

When's the big move then???? and YOU WILL have the internet WONT YOU!!

Scoot a third? Wait a while though surely. They do not have arcades it is just the brits thank god! fun but not with Harrison, Mummy can I, NO, Mummy can I, NO, Mummy can I, NO get the idea?............. He doesn't funnily enough.

Think it could be time for a new thread tomorrow, beginning of the week and all that and this one takes bloomin ages to load and refresh. Any Ideas for a new title? [brain ticking emotion] Can you hear it from there?

Hi all, trying to catch up after hols but I'm getting nowhere. Everyone keeps posting too fast so I shan't bother. So there! (Sticks out tongue)lol. Sounds like you all had a lovely time at the meet up, wish more people lived somewhere near me.
We had a fab time at CP and can't wait to go back. Problem is we have to go in school holidays and it costs a fortune! There was so much to see and do, I don't think we even scratched the surface. Dh and I had an afternoon in the spa which was just lovely, so relaxing we didn't want to leave. The funniest thing happened though, dh 'forgot' to pack his trunks and had to cycle all the way back to the villa to get them. This was after his obsession with the bit in the brochure that said swimwear was optional....
We've had a lovely quiet weekend this weekend although I have washed 6 loads of washing and ironed about half of it. Back to the normal routine tomorrow. I must go and get Ruby weighed as I am curious to know if the food is making any difference.

juliewoolie · 23/09/2007 21:46

Hi girls,

really sorry not been keeping up been mad busy.

Hope everyone is doing well and a big WHATEVA about whatever is going on with people being a but grumpy.

Saw SOH was having a hard time hope our feeling better and mini tank is better.

Scoot defo up for a little herts meet up am heading that way in a few weeks maybe a spot of cake in John Lewis?

Hugs hilarious at his Imelda Markus shoe obsession but if you could steer him towards getting you some manolos or jimmy choos I feel that might be a better brand of shoes to steal

Quick question for all you Phil & Teds out there, are they any good? Had an awful bus experience last week with my quinny to wide got wedged between 2 seats so we are thinking of selling and buying a P & T also as we are making no attempt to prevent number 2 coming along will prob be needing a double buggy in the near future.

Will catch up prop tom.

cameroonmama · 23/09/2007 21:46

Oooo I'd love a pint of Mild.

Still time for a meet-up.. Half term coming up, lets get planning, actually I have no idea where Ware is

Ok two houses sounds grander than actually is, more like, flat in London and teeny cottage in Somerset, but good to know I had the ability to impress you there, even if just for a fleeting second

scootermum · 23/09/2007 22:01

Lovely cake in lovely JL's...funnily enough thats where MID and I met last time Well let me know when and I shall be there..I will never 'knowingly' turn down a trip to JL's

Ha!With me its more my DH at the arcades..'Scoot, can I?' 'NO!' Though I guess Lilster has time yet Maybe I will wait till after we've moved house to start on number 3

'Tiny Cottage' Cam?Go on..you really live in Clevedon house dont you?And that flat is above a shop..Harrods?When is half term then?

Was it Sherwood Forest CP you were at Abby?We might go to Elvedon Forest one down here next year..I love CP..its fabbo...

Well the kitchen is half packed..the clothes are down from the attic and sorted into keepers and TBH anything size 10 or below that I will never realistically get into again ready for charity shop tomorrow..the lounge is full of boxes..Im getting jolly upset at the thought of moving now however as I will really miss this little house...

Right o..Im orf to bed with a large mug of cocoa, (on a silver tray, Atonement stylee of course)Might stick a ball gown on to take dinner tomorrow as well..even though it will only be me and a microwave meal for one as DH is at college...am now harbouring a major cruch on James McAlvoy too..not arf...

night all x

scootermum · 23/09/2007 22:04

cameroonmama · 23/09/2007 22:08
