Hi everyone sorry to all of you having a rough time or with F&F having problems. Big hugs coming your way.

G had a consultants apt today and they don't want to see him now for 2 months. He weighs 10lb 6oz and they are happy with his development.

He is still eating like a little piggy and for three nights slept for about 6-7 hours but back to a more regular 4-5 hours again now.

Hope everyone is keeping okay and will try to catch up over next few days. We have had a couple of short breaks (Centerparcs in Sherwood Forest) and then with everything else I only seem to catch up with a few posts then you all run off again and leave me with more to catch up with. Thanks LG&T for keeping me on the thread. Hope DH did well.

DH and I needed some quality time so I left G with his sister last week (for all of 3 hours). DH sister not Gs sister obviously. Was really nice as we had a lovely lunch but did miss G as it was the first time I had left him apart from him being in hospital. DD was 11 months before I left her with anyone and I feel a bit guilty that poor old G has to fit in with us a bit more than she did.

We had a lovely day on Saturday we went to Chatsworth Farm/playground and had a picnic. DD bought a handbag with DH in Woolies last week and it is now her "adventure bag" so it came with us and had plates/cups from her tea set in it.

I have also bought a little tikes playhouse today on ebay so am well chuffed. This is the reward for fillig the star chart whilst potty training. Can I ask what people do re night time. DD is very good during the day and occasionally has a pre wee wee but she realises and holds it whilst she rushes for the loo/potty. I thougt she would wear nappies at night for a while but the last 2 nights she has woken us up for a wee at around 5:00 5:30 am luckily I am still half awake from Gs early morning snack but do I bite the bullet and get her out of nappies completely or tell her it is alright at night to wee in it? Advice much appreciated.

Re christenings G was christened in hospital with his brother and it is a one shot deal but I THOUGHT THEY SHOULD BE DONE (sorry for shouting) together. It just seems a little unfair as DD had a lovely day with bit of a do and everything. I have to ask our vicar who is new what we do about a welcoming/blessing to our local church and then we may have a bit of a do for him

Anyway glad you all seem to be keeping okay and hope to post more sooon.
Cheers CM

Re: Sleep "regression", A was unsettled when we got back from holiday, but settled again after about a week.

scootermum · 29/08/2007 13:47

Watcha all..

Back from home ..couldnt see friend till Monday in the end as he was in intensive care following his op..it was hard seeing him in such pain and so frightened and to be honest I was quite useless as I was upset, which upset him...was trying very hard not to let it show and failing miserably so I feel lousy about self really...they took the bits of his intestine out that are infected and took biops of his lymphy nodes to see if its spread-we will find out next week...meanwhile chemo starts in 3 weeks.

Im keeping it all crossed..

Went out last night as one of the girls from Lilys bumps and babes group is emigrating to New Zealand tomorrow so it was her farewell dinner..had a bit of champers and some wine and feel worse than rough today..gaaah!Two kids and hangover is not a pretty picture..
That said TYG..You say the word when you want a night out lady..I'll be down the A10 like a shot..

Lots to catch up on but big wave to all in the meantime..

Dear all,

Every time I get round to posting DS2 wakes up and demands milk before I've even typed a sentence. Hoping for better luck this time.

Sending best wishes to those with F&F with cancer, both my parents have had it in the past 2 years, though in both their cases the treatment has been a lot worse than the disease itself.

Has anyone else's hair started falling out? it did with me when I had DS1, but not till he was about 6 months. I am having to sweep the floors every day to keep from having tumbleweeds of hair rolling around.

DS2 had his operation to remove one of his extra fingers on monday, it went really well and he fell asleep while they were doing it so I don't imagine he was traumatised. He still has a little bump on the pinky of right hand, which he can decide to have removed if he wants to when he was a teenager. Before it was done we were joking that he was going to be in a ward full of people with extra fingers. When it came to it they were removing digits from 3 babies that day! amazing that it is that common. Having the op done meant that he was also weighed and measured - he is now 8.1kg and off the scale on the height chart. Don't know how he gets to be so huge, neither DP or I are. The big plus for me is that as he grows I shrink.

Bensonbluebird · 29/08/2007 14:36

April - realised I haven't had an email from you - have a pants parcel for you if you would like them.

scootermum · 29/08/2007 15:02

Hi Benson..glad the op went well and nice to see ya..

Hey guys..have posted about this in style as well..am going to Brighton for the weekend and am going to shhh..a night club..but im having a total crisis of confidence and I dont know what to wear..(granted this could be due to the fact that im incredibly hungover, but still..)Honestly..am so worried about this that im considering not going..(all the more shocking as to not go would mean spending the weekend with my MIL!)Anyone any ideas?I have tomorrow to shop...

Pebblemum · 29/08/2007 19:02

Benson, glad the op went well. My hair is falling out in the bucket loads. Ive taken to combing it with a nit comb everytime I wash it as this seems to get rid of quite a bit of loose hair in one go rather than have it falling out all day. Poor Alana gets covered on my hairs everytime i go within a feet of her!!

OOh clubbing...Havent been to a night club since Ds2 was 2. Wouldnt have a clue what to wear. When i was younger and a lot thinner (lol) I wore as little as possible now i'd go for whatever covers my rolls the best
I would probably go for some nice white trousers (bought a pair a while ago but darent wear them around the kids lol)nice top and strappy heels. Would love to still get away with the butt skimming skirts and skimpy tops but the way my baby belly and wobbly thighs are now Id make everyone sick

cameroonmama · 29/08/2007 19:46

nightclub?? what's one of those then I think you are regressing Scoot, what with festivals and nightclubs in Brighton...

Pebble's outfit suggestion sounds lovely, but I dare you to go for the arse skimming skirt with 4inch heels option

Benson, good to see you and I am glad the op went well.

A hectic playdate, picnic type of day here. J, as ever, laid back cherub baby, maybe slightly more laid back than normal due to the large quantities of champagne I quoffed last night

His new cot has arrived and so tomorrow morning I shall try and put it together. I had also ordered a flying saucer entertainment thingy (I think MKG also mentioned it)so hopefully it will come tomorrow as J is definitely tiring of the bouncy chair and much prefers sitting upright, though I fear he will be far too chunky for a bumbo or bebepod!

Tell me, why can't you get a good avocado in this country?

aprilmeadow · 29/08/2007 20:03

Evening,

Benson, I have just emailed you. Glad the op went well.

Scoot, I went to a nightclub in Brighton last November for a friends hen night and the girlies were wearing next to nothing! My suggestion: Nice pair of trousers, vest top/t-shirt type top (you know the longer more floaty tops) and pair of heels.

Have been re-arranging my kitchen cupboards today as we have no space for the stuff we have let alone any nore bits that Ella may need when the weaning fun starts. Was very ruthless and have a nice box of stuff to ebay! Inc, bread maker & juicer. They were a great idea at the time, but have only been used a handful of times.

Am spending tonight ironing and then tomorrow i can relax when i go to the Sanctuary. Dh is getting a bit twitchy about being left with Ella all day, as he has only ever given her 1 bottle of ebm EVER. Have told him that she will take a bottle if she is hungry! I have left a carton of formula in the cupboard in case she drains the ebm supply!

scootermum · 29/08/2007 20:07

Because they are the food of the devil..not only do they taste disgusting they also contain 17,000 calories so its not even as if they make you thin...

Regressing?I am only 27!!(although I guess add 10 years for each child, 2 years every time Lily throws herself on the ground and screams till everyone in a one mile radius has stopped what they are doing to look, 6 months every time Mae's nappy over flows into the car seat...My God..I am technically dead!)

Did 007 get you anything nice for your anniversary Cam?

Have just tried on white trousers I bought after Mae was born..hurrah hurrah they are too big!!Which is good news on the one hand and bad news in that Im still buggered clothes wise...

Oh will this god forsaken hangover ever lift?I have eaten the top layer of a box of Milk tray and now feel sick as a pike as well!

scootermum · 29/08/2007 20:11

Ha!After banging on about how its 'easy' looking after kids all day, blah, blah..DH has enrolled his Mother to come down and help him with the girls whilst Im at the sea side...He wont even attempt one day alone so she is coming on Friday! Its the last time he goes to work mumbling about me 'spending the day drinking tea, watching This Morning, seeing your friends and going to the Garden centre..'

juliewoolie · 29/08/2007 20:28

foock me anyone watching supernanny!

cameroonmama · 29/08/2007 20:33

Dh always escapes to his mothers, he claims because there is more space there, personally I think he prefers her cake to mine

Get this for a lovely anniversary present, a crab apple tree (tree of love apparently), I am really touched, I only gave him a box of choccies from Thorntons

I forgot of course Scoot that you are just a whippersnapper, go party girl

April are you going on that sex swing thing at the Sanctuary too?

scootermum · 29/08/2007 20:34

No why whats going on?(Scoot fumbles for the remote)

cameroonmama · 29/08/2007 20:34

Julie - I am now considering my children to be utter angels, I shall be super nice to them tomorrow to express my gratitude

Mrsjaffabiffa · 29/08/2007 20:35

Scoot I'm so sorry about your friend It is so hard to stay strong infront of them. My thoughts are with you.

We have had some really positive news with my bf. She went to have the port for chemo fitted yesterday, they did the procedure and then today she saw the oncologist (sp). He was shocked to see that she had had the procedure done and VERY opologetic as there seems to have been a BIG mistake in communication between the dr's and the oncologist. She doesn't need to have chemo at all. She has to have a CAT scan and a PET scan and providing they come back clear the oncologist is very happy that they removed everything and she will just need 6 weeks of radiotherapy. If there is signs of re-growth or any further spreading then she will need chemo. We are all very pleased obviously, although she is still porly and it is going to be a tough wait it certainly sounds more promising than we first thought.

benson, very glad the op went well.

lg&t how did n get on?

Jorja has joined the rolly mo club I don't have a problem with tummy time as she sleeps on her tummy , gasp, I can hear you all now!! She has done since she was 4 weeks old as she wouldn't settle on her back. She is sooooo strong on her front and cawls up her cot and if in the pram she pears over the top of it. She really loves being on her tummy but it is now very funny as she goes rolling across her playmat.
I still haven't had her 2nd lot of jabs done as she is only just getting over her cold and she has to see the eye specialist about her sticky eye in sept as she has had it since birth and the 3 lots of antibiotics have not cleared it.
lg&t what was the stuff you mentioned, I can't find the peice of paper.

Harrison is pleased to be back at school (mummy is not enjoying the school run) but he loves his new class and teacher, he was pleasd to announce that he got a REAL Bien today, not sure what a pretend one is but it was a REAL one today

I have registered with face book today but I haven't really had chance to work the site yet and see what it does.

Hope everyone is well

Hi everyone.

well the invalid is back home and currently researching his back problem - oh the curse of google.

Well he is sort of ok if walking bent over and being unable to lift anything is ok. The consultant has said he is ok to fly although the physio has said he shouldnt.

So there we go we are off tom eve. If there is a headline in the next 48 hours of a women totally losing it. Will prob be me as I have to deal with A and DP and luggage and and and...

Oh god maybe I will stay home.

Hope everyone is doing well have not had a chance to read the full thread but it looks like we are doing ok.

OP posts:
cameroonmama · 29/08/2007 20:42

Have a great time Julie, hopefully you will get to relax when you get there.

MrsJB, glad to hear Harrison is now getting some real biens, much better than fake ones. DS is now asking what EVERYTHING is in French. Sad that he used to know most of the things

cameroonmama · 29/08/2007 20:43

..and of course, meant to say that that is great news about your friends treatment.

juliewoolie · 29/08/2007 21:06

Sorry forgot to say Mrs JB great news.

Scoot stay positive your friend is getting the help he needs.

Lupins71 · 30/08/2007 01:06

I am sat up at this ungodly hour - not because my son is up - noooo he is sleeping soundly, but willow has been on a vomiting session for the last hour and a half, poor thing, am pretty sure its the wate in the legoland water play area thats done it , so shes asleep on one sofa, I am plonked on the other which is where i shall sleep when i can be bothered to remove the huge pile of ironing that needs doing, and arlen is asleep in his carrycot between both sofas, cosy!!

MJB - i thought that is what she would have done- stood still but she said 2 ladies took her to legoland staff, you would have thought they would have known to stay put wouldnt you - It will be drummed into dd's head from now on, she was still a bit traumatised this morning about it

Sky - thanks its certainly scared both of us

Pink - Good luck getting that harness off, hope they say you can, good to hear you are all ok

Charley, glad to hear not so little george is doing well, re the toilet training, dd was fine with it for a while and this last few months she has had to go back in pull ups, I think it can take till they are about 7 or 8 to be reliably dry at night, I would just offer all the praise you can at the moment, and if she regresses then dont make a big deal out of it - she will get there in the end thats my attitude

Scoot dont be too hard on yourself - its hard to keep it together when its someone you are about - its called being human, big hugs coming your way

Benson glad the op went well, 8.1kg OMG!!!

AM my cupboards are full of kitchen gadgets that seemed a good idea at the time - altho i have to say i love my breadmaker, I dont know where you find the time to do all this stuff, I cant seem to get the everyday jobs done

CAM - Sex swing ???????????????? I thought it was supposed to be a relaxing spa day AM was off to ???????????????????

MJB Good news about your friend, fingers crossed she will only need the radiotherapy

Julie have a nice trip, maybe if you take a couple of his painkillers you wont care about having to deal with the luggage ect as you will be nice and spaced out!!

For anyone whose little one is teething badly I can give huggggeeee reccomendations for anbesol - no not the stuff for piles - just sounds the same, £2.10 from chemists, i tried some totally numbed my gums, fantastic gear

Next recommendation - Ellas kitchen pouches, I have been making all Arlens food, but needed something to take out and about this last week so got some of them, it is baby food with flavour, not just the standard orange carroty stuff an a jar, 1 pouch done 2 servings

Right going to try and get some kip - albeit on the sofa
