I have just done some weeding but it is too dark now, I fancy wine & peanuts

Sexonlegs · 08/08/2007 21:25

I have just had a glass of red wine, and have remembered that dh bought me a Flake whih is sitting in the cupboard waiting for me. I am positively orgasmic!

Hi WO, You sound on top form today. Leg ok, but my mum scared me by saying something about bone marrow if a bruise doesn't appear. The pushchair feel from about 3 feet on to th side of my shin, and I have to say I dropped to the ground in agony. I applied a cold compress pdq!

oooggs · 08/08/2007 21:26

ouch!!!!!

normabutty · 08/08/2007 21:26

Hey Ange, hope the waxing wasn't too painful!!!

normabutty · 08/08/2007 21:44

Have replied to your email SOL!

AngeG · 08/08/2007 21:46

Hey Nutty

Waxing was ok...still makes me jump though.

SOL - Do you still want to meet up one Friday? Haven't heard anything from Waspelly...is she on holiday?

elkiedee · 08/08/2007 21:47

runny, glad to hear that it sounds like you're getting some help, will look in on your thread again.

This week I've just planned some things to go out and look forward to, best to get out each day - though some days coming up that's just medical appointments, oh well. At Monday's drop in I found out about a good group which meets very very near me.

Today I went to meet up with my postnatal class - since our 6 week course finished we've met up 3 consecutive Wednesdays and we're doing it next week too, how cool is that? One group member invited us to her house with the most fabulous garden and her older child (4 tomorrow) was really interested in D and started hanging around chatting to me for ages - I had Danny's nappy off to change him and Seth was like, ooh, nice willy, he's a boy like me (Jane's new baby is a girl).

ff, glad ernie seems happier, hope he continues to get better. Katy, hope yours is ok too.

ff, I tend to go to places where something's on, but what sort of thing are you looking for. Organised stuff for kids, stuff that you can do with kids, a rural retreat? I know one couple who gave me the impression in the past that they quite fancied different things - A liked the rural retreat (and tended to get it) which was my mum and stepdad's preference too - L quite liked the holiday centre in Devon which is a place for members of our union, which they said is a bit like Butlins for union members...

Maybe it's a bit far for you since you're so far down south, but I think a family could have a lovely holiday in Yorkshire with Leeds as a base - within fairly short journeys from base by train or bus or car, you could do a day trip to York with museums, Clifford's tower, another day trip to Scarborough for tacky seaside stuff, or Whitby for gothic appeal and museums again, another day the steam railway, can't remember exactly but it's near Haworth north west of Leeds (Bronte Parsonage but maybe not so great for young kids), various ruined abbeys with stuff in their grounds, this Tropical World place in Roundhay Park. And there's a children's museum in Halifax. And you could try to meet up with Pinions, nuttygirl and LeakyR and their children too.

Sexonlegs · 08/08/2007 21:47

Norma, have accepted you my love!

Ange, would love to meet up. Free this Friday and next Friday - all day!

AngeG · 08/08/2007 21:57

SOL - Free both those Fridays, afternoon probably better for me then I can drop J at pre-school first. Shall I come to you?

Have you signed up to MSN?

Sexonlegs · 08/08/2007 22:02

Ange, afternoons are great, and yes, if you like come to me. I'll get the cakes in!!!

Sexonlegs · 08/08/2007 22:03

Oooh, which Friday then?

leakyR · 08/08/2007 22:03

Evening ladies

ff- hope Ernie picks up, is so scary when they're ill - change so quickly. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

SOL - hope your leg gets better, just seems to be one thing after another at the mo.

Maveta - loved you bedtime story. This last week or so G turns round when dh comes home and smiles when he hears his voice. Dh reckons it's the best bit of his day.

CD love your pics.

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone. TBH I am struggling a bit at the mo. G wakes at least 4 times a night and whereas in the past he's fed and gone straight back to sleep in the cot it's taking 2-4 goes to get him to settle each time. I am exhausted. I think it's his teeth that are bothering him. Most nights by 4am he's on the bed with me as it's the only place he'll settle and I'm desperate for sleep.

Struggling to keep up with MN and all your posts so I think it's time to cut back on net time. Will still try and post every few days but you'll have to excuse my lack of personal messages as I won't have a hope of keeping up.

I think my spare time would be better spent with DH in the evenings (he's getting a bit neglected) and with G during the day when he's such a smiley happy chap (opposite of nighttime G).

AngeG · 08/08/2007 22:11

Hi Leaky - Sorry to hear you're having such bad nights with G. Don't worry about personals...it is often so difficult to keep up on here. Thinking of you xxx

oooggs · 08/08/2007 22:11

hi elkie we are going up north next week staying in Barton Upon Humber near Hull and going to Whitby to visit grandparents and doing the steam railway (Pickering to Whitby)etc

CaptainDippy · 09/08/2007 07:45

No time to read properly, but v.manic day today so popping in quickly to say hi! Thank you for compliments on my pics - my girls are gorgeous, if a lot of hard work!! Just to clarify - it is S in the "flinging in the air" pic, not K - K would squish daddy!!!

Have great days all - off to hospital for pre-op appt with K and then then out for lunch / afternoon with friend I haven't seen in aaaages hwile older two are at nursery, then people round this evening - Madness!!!!

Sexonlegs · 09/08/2007 08:01

Hi all. Just droppping in.

Leaky, sorry you are having such a bad time with G at the moment. Hope things calm down a bit and you can get some rest.

CD, your day sounds mad as ever - I don't know how you keep up!

Back later. xx

emmymummy · 09/08/2007 08:43

Morning all.

FF - thinking of you and your family today. And I hope Ernie is feeling better.xxx

SOL - your leg sounds painful. Hope you kept any swearing to a minimum when it happened .

CD - good luck at the hospital today.

Not getting the chance to get on here much these days - can't really do it with Emily being on school holidays (otherwise she ends up watching the TV too much - not that that's a bad thing, the TV has been my saviour on many occasions).

Gonna be even harder to get on here for the next couple of weeks as we're off to Cornwall next week....really looking forward to it.

S is sitting next to me talking away - she has teeth about to burst through, I can see their shape under her gums . She's slept through the night for the last 3 nights, which has been fab - she's a good wee soul!

Have an exciting morning lined up - I've got to go and sort a new mortgage out, and have to take Em and S with me as DH is at work. Should be fun (not).

Katy44 · 09/08/2007 08:54

morning everyone
SOL, how's the leg?
oooggs, have a good trip up north.
I did wonder if T might be ill as he projectile vomited the night before as well but HV didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about unless he does it all the time, which he doesn't. He's also had another dirty nappy without the poo fountain effect
Hope you're all enjoying your breakfasts!
When I had to bath him in the middle of the night I had already taken all his clothes off, realised I couldn't clean him up, so started to run a bath. It was so cold and I'd tried to wrap him in a cot sheet, but he kept kicking his way out of it, then lying there looking so tiny and skinny, and shaking with the cold
He's fine now, having a minor grouch cos I'm not paying him attention

normabutty · 09/08/2007 10:22

Blimey, quiet today!

SOL -hope the leg is feeling ok today.

CD - good luck at hospital

Katy - sorry to hear you've had another poo explosion, hope T is ok.

EM - good luck with the mortgage

FF - thinking of you today x

Right well i'm doing laundry today . DH off to cinema after work so on my own until about 8.30pm...am hoping Erin's feeds fit in ok with me making tea for myself!!! Need to get house and stuff sorted as ILs visiting at the weekend...apparently I'm cooking lunch for them on Sunday . No idea what to make cos we're going out on Sat evening and the food will be similar to roast dinner, which kinda scuppers my lunch idea! Will have to have a read of my cookery books.

normabutty · 09/08/2007 10:24

Oh and the was because they kinda told dh that I would be cooking for them (I didn't volunteer) and they want something substantial cos they have a long journey back and have hinted that desert is required .

Sexonlegs · 09/08/2007 10:58

Hiya.

FF, thinking of you and yours today. The sun is shining here - I hope it is with you too.

CD, good luck at the hospital.

Emmy, your day sounds as exciting as mine!!

Norma, I always buy puddings if I have cooked lunch.

Dh has announced that he has said his cousin and gf can come over on Sat and stay the night if they want. Curry methinks!!!

Hope everyone is ok. xx
