Dippy - your daughter looks like she is falling from the sky!!! The photos are relaly cute - will download some when get home as have taken loads recently.

Ernie has smiled today at last - bit of coaxing but he thought raspberry blowing was mildly funny. He is starting to cry again - where are you mummy?????

Meningitis did cross my mind - had a paramedic talk the other day with ernie and he covered it - the rash can be one of the last symptoms to show itself - what worried me is that he got bad so quickly and was very responsive. The rash blanched which was obviously a relief but was told to keep an eye on it. Two doctors checked him oer and one rang back this morning - so they were obviously worried.

If he doesn't pick up am going to take him down to the funeral - was going to leave him at my mums but not sure.

Probably won't have time to post again before funeral - will let you know how it goes when get home tomorrow night. Am dreading going in the limo with the family and following the coffin - really freaked out by that - and then the crematorium aswell But need to be strong for dh and will all be over pretty quickly I think - the service is 40 minutes at the church and 15 minutes at the crem.

Better go - ernie calls!

flashfinn · 08/08/2007 11:33

wasn't responsive not was!

bumble75 · 08/08/2007 11:33

Ok... missy has been fed and is currently trying to rip the arm off the monkey on her playgym... or eat it, it's hard to say.

Had a better night last night so am feeling less shattered today, I did manage to fall halfway down our stairs this morning, just glad I wasn't holding L at the time. No injuries but woke me up good and proper!

WO & Elkie - hope you're both feeling better soon.

WO - I can empathise big time, is so hard being away from doting grandparents and family and must be even harder if you don't like where you're going back to when you leave them. As much as I love Edinburgh, I still have moments where I think 'What am I doing here?'. Big hugs for you sweetheart.

FF - more big hugs for you and Ernie, hope the wee man is on the mend soon. And well done for bfing for 4 months!

Katy - about your bad night, hope today is better for you.

Luce - hope the toilet training going ok. No tips from this novice but a friend of mine has a wee boy about the same age as B and just as she was about to go back to nappies and he got the knack of it... I was even treated to a demo when I was round there last week!

Really should rescue the monkey on the play gym and then enjoy this sunshine while it lasts....

Have a good one
x

Katy44 · 08/08/2007 11:42

ooh bumble that's scary (stairs)
hope you're ok
T is much much better today, thanks
octo - thinking about you xx

CaptainDippy · 08/08/2007 11:47

Glad you weren't holding L and that you didn't really hurt yourself - I am MUCH clumsier since having children - guess it is the tireness ......

{{{{{hugs}}}}} FF - just be strong for DH, it will be over soon. xx

Right, DD1 will be back soon so need to get dinner going, then drop them off at friends and off to work ..... high ho, high ho, high ho .... Hopefully laptop will be in office!!

grandmajo · 08/08/2007 12:44

Well that title is just charming

grandmajo · 08/08/2007 13:01

Luce, can I get the recipe book please? Always on the hunt for new ideas. Thankyou!

Octo, thinking of you for tomorrow. I really hope things go as well as is possible. How is ernie doing now? Hope he is feeling a little better, bless him. And how is your neck? Surely things have to start moving in a happier direction for you soon. Take care xxxx

Bumble, glad you werent hurt when you fell. Horrible feeling when you trip like that. Always makes me do an involuntary AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Hope everyone else is ok today. Have braved Sainsburys with dc's today. Mananged to spend nearly £100 Was not planning on that I can tell you.
Looks like my work will not budge on paying my KIT days when I actually go back to work properly. Its a shame they didnt tell me that when I started my leave

eca · 08/08/2007 13:40

hi everyone!

wo at having to leave and not wanting to. We live away from friends and family and sometimes it is really hard.

maveta - N sounds sooo cute enjoying his daddy reading to him. Aww

flash - darling, you sound like you're having a really rough time. Hope you manage to get through the next couple of days in one piece. Hope little Ernie starts to feel better and your poor dh , it must be a rollercoaster of emotions xx

katy - poor you! What a palava in the night!

cd - you pics are amazing!

Katy44 · 08/08/2007 15:41

The night comes only second to the poo fountain I've just experienced
He was feeding, and it was coming out of the side of his nappy faster than it was going in!

Katy44 · 08/08/2007 15:42

BTW am going to try to avoid MN (again) for a couple of days as we have someone coming to see the house on Friday for the 1st time in ages and they are a FTB so we need to pull out all the stops
Maybe should go and move all the pooey stuff from upstairs (and try to get the smell out) that might be a good start!

Katy44 · 08/08/2007 16:39

Not doing too well avoiding it so far
Bye everyone, back soon, thinking of you octo, hope ernie is better soon and you and dh are ok xx

normabutty · 08/08/2007 16:41

Get on with your cleaning Katy

Erin's playing football with one of her toys

Katy44 · 08/08/2007 16:48

How do you KNOW??

normabutty · 08/08/2007 16:50

We're watching you katy!!!

WestCountryLass · 08/08/2007 17:46

Have left DD watching Nina and the Neurons and DS and his friend playing Nintendo, Leo is on play mat, rolling around.

Have taken kids, including the friend, to the zoo today and it was obviously stacked out so I am now lagging. Kids were brilliant and did not run off or play up but it is so draining keeping an eye on all of them, especially someone elses child, you have to be extra vigilent!

Called DH and told him to get take away on way home, kids have had fish fingers and I am not cooking again.

Octo, so sorry you are having such a shitty time. It happens like that, everything coming at once, when you come back home take it easy for a while as you might find yourself feeling drained after the intensity of it all. I hope Ernie is better, Leo was like that a few weeks ago (no rash though) and came out with a stinker of a cold.

Oh, and we have booked to camp at a Haven park in Cornwall the weekend of the 18th so I definitely won't be able to meet you that weekend. Are you about at all next week? I will be around the week of the 27th but DS is having swimming lessons every day so could meet you after? Or maybe when the kids have gone back to school?

I am going to slob out in front of the TV tonight so I will 'see' you all tomorrow

CaptainDippy · 08/08/2007 18:38

You Super Star WCL - Enjoy the Take-Away - you deserve it!

Boss did leave laptop at work, but couldn't get onto the Internet - Have put the older 2 to bed early, DH giving P a bottle expressed milk and I am saying hi to you guys before I have to go out to a meeting tonight ....

Tired.

grandmajo · 08/08/2007 19:04

WCL, know what you mean about being extra vigilent! Had 2 of ds friends over after school a few weeks ago. Found myself just standing in the kitchen watching them in the garden. Too scared not to watch in case something awful happened (which it didnt)!! It is a big responsibility looking after someone elses children isnt it!! Enjoy your takeaway, v

Katy, hope the poo smell has gone!!

Norma, how was that week without your dh? Am sure you have posted about it already but I have probably missed it!

Have a lovely evening all. Not sure if I will make it back tonight but see you all soon xx

flashfinn · 08/08/2007 19:13

Good evening - well the screaming has subsided a bit and he has been a bit perkier. All the boys in bed now - thank goodness.

Have taken up drinking wine as a past time and no need to worry any more about ernie getting a breathaliser test by the baby police

I am trying to think of somewhere nice to book for october half term. Any recommendations welcome - must accept feral children and no pets as dh allergic to cat & dog hair. Not going abroad though.

DH says I can buy myself a pressie - our anniversary kind of got forgotten a bit. Am thinking maybe a nice pair of boots or a new handbag for the winter - or maybe a coat. DH got a new putter for golf

Why grandmajo? What did I miss? Have you decided to move to brighton after all? and need a deckchair.

Really looking forward to going home tomorrow night - I need my house back and the boys need their toys - although they have had a great time for the past two weeks.

JoMa · 08/08/2007 20:09

grandmajo is my doing I think, I called Mammyjo grandma on an msn chat as she was the oldest there, hence the "grandma and her crew" in the title

Evening lovelies.

FF, I know I am late in posting, but how frightening for you and Ernie. I hope the little lad is ok. Hope the funeral goes ok as well - as well as can be expected.

Katy, Hope T is ok - sounds like he is poorly maybe?

Ange, hope the eyebrow wax was ok!

CD, the pictures are lovely!

Runny, glad things are ok with you and that you have a plan of action.

Completely forgotten everything else!!

Had a hectic day at my parents. My sil is staying there with the 4 kids and the maid (!!!!) (they all live in Singapore but are visiting for 6 weeks). B had a fab time with her cousins, and I had a bit of free time - well free of B, as they all went swimming.

Now slobbing in front of the telly.

Bit worried about my leg. The pushchair fell on it when I opened the car boot. There is quite a lump which is tender, but no bruise has come out yet - this happened on Sunday.

Rght, dinner ready. Back later. xx

oooggs · 08/08/2007 21:09
